Killer666 -> Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/24/2012 13:08:12)

So if things like Delta armor and the ten-year dragon are Ultra Rare, and yet a ton of people have them

Then why are my Alpha Weapons still only Ultra Rare. there are alot of people who have never even seen them...

Just asking what you opinion is on this situation of "rares" being thrown in categories they don't belong

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/24/2012 13:13:01)

Don't you know what 'rare' stands for?
Nope I don't think you understand what is mean't by a rare.
It just basically means that it is not widely known (Like players will not be able to buy that weapon because its rare) or you could say it is not widely redristubuted as in the Alpha Phase, alot of people didn't play which mean't only a few got it.

Alpha is in the right category because it was a weapon from 3/4 years ago which is not widely known from the long intervals.

Alpha is in the right section of an Ulta-Rare

EDIT:
And ten year titan was only for people who competed in the war, thats why it is an Ultra-rare. People who didn't can't get them anymore.

Delta knight was here for like 8 months. At the moment its an rare.
Its not an ultra-rare yet!

Killer666 -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/24/2012 13:16:34)

SO Alpha weps are ultra rare, and delta armor is ultra rare.... so they are equally rare..? i dont think so

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/24/2012 13:18:04)

Delta knight is a Rare at the moment. Who said it is Ultra-rare?

Practel -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/24/2012 13:20:07)

There are two ways to define "rare". You can view "rare" as how many people have something, or "rare" as given the title. Naturally, over time, Delta Knight will go "rarer" in how many people have it. The title in this case is given to something that will never EVER return (i.e, Alpha Weapons, Founder Armor, Beta Weapons) etc... Though Delta Knight is extremely common, it's still going to become "Rare" when people can't get it. If you were a player in Alpha, you might have asked the same thing "Why is it ultra-rare, everyone has it?". Look at how many people have it now.

Xendran -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/24/2012 14:11:02)

There should be thresholds for what changes from rare to ultra-rare. If less than a certain percentage of the active population owns a certain rare, it should go Ultra-Rare.
Also, an Uncommon category for Drop-Only gear with moderate drop rates would be nice.

At the end of alpha phrase everyone had alpha rares, were they ultra-rare back then? In 4 years someone with delta armor might make similar forum post to yours...

Rare items before that bike should now be ultra rare as well.

It doesnt make much sense to make a new weapon ultra rare wile keeping the old ones rare.

TurkishIncubus -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/25/2012 8:58:14)

I guess those titles have no relation with their age or the number of player use them. Because if Delta Knight gonna be Ultra Rare what about Rixties, Frostbane, Gamma Bot, Azrael(staff)?

Killer666 -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/27/2012 3:01:13)

Rixities, Alpha weps, and Wrist Blades are the only Ultra rares i think should be :D

hawtnezz -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/27/2012 4:03:14)

delta armour is so common making it ultra rate is pointless .. unless they just wanna hype sales

Remorse -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/28/2012 2:05:47)

If ultra-rare was given to things that are never returning then how come things like, bunny zookas, rixties etc. are only classified as "rare" when clearly they are much more deserving of the title ULTRA rare.

IMO

Items that are never coming back should be called rare, end if they have been rare for more then a year then it can be called ultra rare.

the delta Armour should only be called rare for now until it become a year old.

Jekyll -> RE: Ultra rare items not so *ultra rare* (12/28/2012 2:16:40)

But, the Delta Knight isn't coming back either. The Delta Knight, Rixty Rippers, etc will not be returning, and are all classified as "Rare". However, the prefix of "Ultra" is given to Legacy items, like phase items and landmark event items, like the Ten Year Titan. The word "Rare" in itself encompasses the idea that an item will not be coming back.

IIRC, the devs wanted to give a more "Awesome" feel to legacy wepons weapons, which is why ultra rare exists.

EDIT: Fixed a typo.
