So what do you think?

You put in two animals/beast type of "bots" and out comes an offspring?

If it's two different species, then there is a 50% chance of one of the parents and the offspring has a 50/50 chance of getting one of its parent's special abilities...like my baby yeti could be shooting lasers... o.O? Idk.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 2:18:13)

first it sounds gross, second, baby yeti can't shoot lasers, it is not capable of it.

Not relevant.

Do you have a developer quote to confirm this? There is zero reason that a yeti on Delta V can't have a laser mounted on (or grafted into) it.

arthropleura -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 3:28:34)

Ehh... No?
What's the point of having two bots with the same special? -.-
Think things through...a bit

You mean like all of the yetis, the assault bots and the gamma bot/infernal android (same concept. its a laser that does energy damage, only the actual damage number is different)?

To put your words into perspective: What's the point of having two bikes if they do the same thing?

yup i can get one :P
and to be serious, who gives birth to a shoulder mounted laser shooting baby yeti? you need to fit the laser on it, not make metal and electronics in your (you know what) so it is not logical and impossible, sure the yetis eat other's zooka and guns but they spit it out later without it getting damaged and you don't exactly insert modify the things you eat on your unborn infant.
so a upgrade shop to the yeti is fine(happening in omega), just not what he suggested.

gammabot and infernal android are both artificially created and modified by humans to have laser shooting capabilities, so you can't argue with that.

Trizz: classic example of focusing on specific words. If you want to be productive, ignore the word breeding, and replace it with combination. All suggestions should be taken as a general idea, not specifics.

Focusing on the aspect of breeding and birth is unproductive and turns what could be a good thread into a pile of "lol eww" or "cant give birth to XYZ"

I personally don't see why i can't hire a Delta V scientist to mount my gamma bot's mouthpiece onto my yeti.

arthropleura -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 4:06:07)

No, no no xendran
If there's a 50% chance of receiving the skill from either *parent, you will end up with identical bots with the same, or the skill of the other parent, yeah? Did I miss something..

Edit: @xendran above: because it would be cruel an inhumane ^^. And yetis can't fuel a laser can they o_O?

Xendran -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 4:14:31)

Actually, i think a better alternative to this suggestion would be the ability to buy Bot Parts and construct our own.

well the suggestion was based on breeding so i have to stay on the actual topic.

and the yeti cant fuel a laser like gammabot if it only has the mouthpart, you need to fully modify the yeti inorder to do it, which involves installing a nuclear generator inside the yeti.

Xendran -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 4:17:03)

Breeding was just the method, not the result. The result is Robot Combination.

And that gives me a nice idea for how to categorize bot parts. I'm actually gonna do a quick writeup on that.

EDIT:

Robots could have

Power Source {Determines Available Specials and Weapon Damage}*
Weapon {Determines Weapon Artwork and Animation}
Special {Equip a Special Ability}
Upper Body {Artwork}
Lower Body {Artwork}
Head {Artwork}

And you could pick from various things to make your own robot. This would be a good way to add variety to bots without having to constantly add new ones, and instead they could just add new parts.
NOTE: Pre-built bots would still exist, of course.

Power Sources
Currently:

Nuclear Generator: Gamma Laser
Heart: All Yetis and 'Living Bot' specials.
Varium-Fueled Generator: Bio Borg, Azrael's Borg, Assault Bot and Rusted Assault Bot Specials
Infernal Generator: Pyro Fly and Infernal Android Specials

Stabilis -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 9:15:14)

Is it too much to ask for yetis with fricking laser beams attached to their heads? *puts pinky up to lips*

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 9:26:45)

@above i believe the omega yetis has covered that already

Stabilis -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 9:31:09)

^

That was a Dr. Evil (Austin Powers) reference. [8D]

EDIT: Because you have to know what Austin Powers is.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 9:34:38)

@above who? who is austin powers?

Midnightsoul -> RE: Breed Dem' Yetis (1/3/2013 23:20:59)

LOL. This thread game me a good laugh xDDD

Yes, Xendran gets my idea...I only put breed up there because that way, in the future, ideas can be based off it.

@Trizz
Unless u can go behind the scenes, then it's my suggestion anymore... O_o
