A system similar to hairstyles, but for classes. You pay an initial premium to unlock a class, and then you can switch to it for a low price.

If this were a real setting, you would not have to pay to train to be a "tech mage" multiple times. After you train once you know the skills of a tech mage, so there should be no problem switching back to this class. This also is within the theme of customization that seems to be emerging in Omega.

This would be very helpful for people who are worried about switching to a class because they might not have the credits or varium to switch back if they don't like it. Also people who are interested in certain type of builds, rather than certain classes, would greatly appreciate this, since for example, they could try out a strength bounty hunter and then switch back to a strength blood mage very easily once they are done with the BH skill set. This are some of the obvious benefits, but there are many great reasons to implement this.

I think the current prices are fair for the premium, and holding to the real setting metaphor, it must be very expensive to learn a new skill set.

this is what i have got from the dev when i told them that people wants to purchase or unlock classes: "the idea have never crosses our mind" which means, it is not gonna happen any time soon.

It is unreasonable to simply dismiss a suggestion... Is there any sort of justification or is this about squeezing more varium out of people.

Chosen 0ne -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/4/2013 16:43:11)

If you were able to purchase classes, I fear the cost would be to high. Probably 5000 varium per class. It would take me about 3 months to get all of them if this was the case. I try to only spend $50.00 a month on AE.

@^

Oh my gosh that's alot O_O. But this idea is a pretty good one.

Lycan. -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/4/2013 17:39:04)

I'm willing to pay 250,000-300,000 credits to unlock a class or 4500-5000 varium.

Yianman -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/4/2013 19:03:20)

I'm not o_O

Lycan. -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/4/2013 19:16:05)

@above Idc if your not willing to pay that much, you can always use the convinient way of changing classes by spending 50k creds or whatever but unlocking a class will be useful for me and alot of other hardcore players in the long run.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/4/2013 21:12:33)

@above and it would be unbeneficial for the game in the long run, since once you get it, you don't have to spend varium in the future, therefore the game gains less profits in the future because varium will last longer. the devs said it is not gonna happen.

KEzAx -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/5/2013 3:09:18)

It would be a good idea to unlock classes the prices will go up like the head styles
maybe 2500-3000 varium or 200,,000-250,000 credits?
but you can still have the importunity to buy it but not unlock it if your non willing to save up then supported.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/5/2013 3:13:08)

2.5-3k variums and 200k-250k credits is too cheap, it should be 10k varium per class and 500k credits, so if you are willing to pay for it then the class would be yours to unlock, but anyways the devs said it is not gonna happen.

KEzAx -> RE: Unlocking Classes (1/5/2013 3:20:12)

agreed id doubt it would happen but yeah its a good idea
