I believe that the Creative/Very Creative(!) title and other variants thereof should be awarded to people on the UCaG using similar criteria to how they are awarded to those in the creative boards. I believe that this award will serve as an incentive to make and maintain quality games.

Hello PBlades,
The Creative title isn't limited to only a couple of forum sections. It is awarded by the head moderators of each forum section. If the head mod deems someone in there worthy, they would have a title, unrelated to which forum they usually post in.

I think there's a misunderstanding somewhere. There's no rule anywhere stipulating that titles can only be handed out based on boards - and if there is, I certainly wasn't made aware of it. Moreover, I couldn't even find any implication anywhere that titles are restricted to certain boards. The closest I came to was this:

from the Forum ranks, groups, and titles thread. Even there, it has a qualifier - "mainly." There is no restriction based upon board location anywhere. If the no moderator has seen fit to give out titles to members, no matter how worthy you may deem a particular member, they will not receive a title. It is at the moderator's discretion to hand out titles.

As it has been said, there are no set rules regarding how titles are given out. It is completely up to the head moderator of each forum. The description of the Creative title has the word "mainly" for a reason. It is mainly those forums that earn Creative. But it is completely feasible for other forum heads to hand it out, if it is earned. I've even said that someone who frequents the suggestion boards, who create various items consistently could earn a Creative title.

Creative, like Helpful, etc are handed out with very very strict scrutiny. It's not something that is just tossed out for the sake of titling someone. There are various criteria for each title. If someone truly deserves it, they will get it. Creative is usually given out to L&L, Gallery and RP people because of the immense amount of effort it takes to exhibit creativity in those boards. I, for one, am VERY picky about who I title. If you look around, the title population in L&L isn't exactly huge.

I think that what the OP means is that they should look more at the UCaG board(s) then they do now.

@King Helios: I don't believe that UCaG has been overlooked, but I don't believe it is given preference, either. Being the recipient of the Creative title means that a user is first of all, creative, second of all, helpful per the rules and finally, frequents either of the two specified sections (which are given preference). That is not to say that any creativity outside those sections is overlooked, but that those sections are the first stop for the staff, at least from my understanding. I would support giving UCaG preference also, since it's not easy to come up with a new and original contest concept and that in itself is a testament to the creativity of the user who posted it.

Just dropping in to say that James nailed it. I'm glad to see that UCaG is not overlooked, through I'd prefer it be given the same preference as "Creative boards".

Also, I must ask why would being helpful be one of the criteria for the Creative! title, when there's already both the "Helpful" title and Helpful-lite "Friendly" title.

It was stated a while back that Creative! no longer has Helpful! as a prerequisite. (Sorry, I don't have the precise quotation.)

In L&L and Gallery, and to an extent, RP, have feedback, critique and commentary areas that require people to know their art and be creative themselves to help others become more creative and hone their skills. While it isn't a prerequisite, it is usually part of the factoring when it comes to titling.

Again, I will reiterate. The head mod of a section is the one who titles in that section. They are the ultimate judge of what creative is, what it takes to be creative and if anyone in that section deserves to be titled.
