The ErosionSeeker -> RE: [DF] Time Collapse (WIP) Discussion (8/2/2013 6:47:20)

dissatisfied with the way i wrote the last two chapters, i changed a small section of 15 and added a sizable portion to 16. hooray for added description!

also, vice is now hate, not fear.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: [DF] Time Collapse (WIP) Discussion (8/10/2013 8:17:39)

quote:

“So do you want to help me or no? I know about your mana generation trait, so I have a preposition for you.”

What do you mean by that? (You wrote it like you meant preposition rather than proposition.)

You mentioned that Obscuras needed Wargoth's power to control the others, but Wargoth Sr. had powers that rivalled (since it was said by geopetal in and old DFGD discussion about Wargoth Senior's possible return that he is no longer a threat) that of an Elemental Avatar. So wouldn't it make more sense if he needed the power of the others to control the power akin to a demigod?

Secondly, Sek-Duat never attained the immortality he craved and in your story he was yet again a mummy so how does that work with Obscuras gaining eternal youth?

quote:

“I've known that you would betray me since you were even born!” he bellowed.

So why didn't he prevent Helios from saving Shadow?

"preposition" was the intended term. it was a stupid joke, to be honest.
anyway, the reason why Oscuras was able to overpower WSr is because his ability is to decay and weaken things, turning their energy to himself / a target.
i intended to stick it in, but he was supposed to burn up part of sek-duat with hellfire, establishing that he would've gone as far as erasing sek-duat with his (stolen) powers.

he was still kind of a mummy when he went all illuminated mode, but the power that Oscuras stole from him was the ability to turn energy (attacks, vigor, etc) directly into life force, instead of keeping it as "energy", as he did with WSr. when he absorbed WSr's attacks, he didn't get healthier; he got bigger.
also, he was able to turn raynor's time barrier into life energy because it was already in unmodified time form, so it was able to be directly turned into lifespan.
wait nvm this doesn't make sense

initially, it was an oversight for him to have sent shadow to the future (this is before he gains crazy vegan psychic powers), but it was also really important for Oscuras+600 to stay all cloak-and-dagger with the Legion. it won't be addressed until Monday or so, but i should mention that he has a reason to keep Shadow alive for the time being.

I'm pretty sure I'm splitting hairs on some of the powers I just described, but I made this table with like 100 combinations, so I think that's why there's all this fiddly stuff:
energy -> own energy -> lifespan
time energy -> lifespan
fire -> undead
