Like seriously, I'm using regular 5 focus build and like boom, I die so easily from a str BM. Every str build is OP'ed.

I have some thoughts about how str is scaled such as like occasionally, you have to use 6 stat points to increase ur primary damage or all primaries are weakened. Maybe increase the power in auxes and bots?

What are your guys' thoughts?

Drianx is correct. Strength is overpowered for other, more mathematical, reasons.

I agree that high hp in conjunction with high strength is overpowered. It's impossible to keep up with their damage and kill them before their finishing move. (Which would be fireball, massacre, rage blugeon, or rage chairman's fury.)

I am currently running a strength bounty hunter with 125 hp and 93 strength. With a base strike damage of 55-60 and a base massacre damage of 98-103, as well as a -36 smokescreen and almost maxed passives, AND energy for an emp or cheap shot on top of all that, I do not deny that I am overpowered. There's just no way to counter such a high and constant damage output.

I found the STR mercs worse when the maul zerker combo killed you before your turn...

^ Lol, yeah. Things outta the nowhere shouldnt be able to kill u that fast. Well, honestly, the reason why these builds are OP is mostly because having high hp is usually better than defenses...

Thank God now it is only scaled by one when Omega comes.

Strength already got a humongous nerf when percent-based attacks went from total damage to just primary bonus damage. I'm thinking that a lower base chance but much more rapid scaling would probably best nerf these "OP" strength builds, because block/deflect chances are far too severe a penalty on strength builds. A more rapid scaling in stun chance decrease would also help counter 2-hit KO maul zerker combos.

Humongous nerf? Compare the math from this:

Your primary damage: 16 - 20 +35
Enemy's Defense: 30 or 40
Skill you will use: Massacre max(140%)

Old Formula:

[16-20 +35] - [30] * 2.40 = 51 - 60 damage
[16-20 +35] - [40] * 2.40 = 27 - 36 damage

New Formula:

[(16-20) + (35 * 2.40)] - [30] = 70 - 74 damage
[(16-20) + (35 * 2.40)] - [40] = 60 - 64 damage


How is that a nerf when it cuts through tank defenses nowadays.

Do we have actual confirmation that the old formula is (18+35-30)*2.4 and not ((18+35)*2.4) - 30?

Xendran, I've tested the damage way back since Beta and it was doing far lesser damage compared to today depending on your defenses. On Beta, the more defenses you had even by just 5 or 7 points, it can significantly decrease % of increased damage skills that hit you. I've once done berzerker(whem BM still had it) level 1 and at that time it was 70%. Having 48 - 52 damage, it was dealing 80 damage if enemy's defense was at 0.

Alright, thanks for confirmation. Looks like the massacre change that was meant to be a nerf actually buffed it.

Indeed. What good is 40 defense if an attack does a base damage of 100? There's no way to keep up with it.

I agree with abusing str build are op which shuld get nerfed since high hp smoke mass builds with chainmans furry are way op since they smoke you, you have to def matrix or reflex boost while they do about 30+ dmg then they use gun which is unblockable about 25 + dmg and when you can start attacking about 55+ hp is of and you know there is massacare and chairmans furry attack which bouth are unblockable. i have tried many builds against them unless they play very very stpid you loose.

Using my caster build, I can defeat 95% of normal str BH's
Physical primary and aux, energy gun, chairmans fury
But when it comes to BH with energy primary, that's far more difficult for me, because my defense matrix doesn't help with the massacre

You know what's another problem with str builds?

Say u r using a regular 5 focus build and ur opponent is a high str dude.

When something lucky happens to you, it's not much of a biggie.
BUT, when the str abuser gets lucky...it's like...COMPLETELY DEVASTATING.

So um...yeah. xD

So finally everyone is realizing it is the equations do a comparison on all equations especially the ones dealing with stun, blocks, deflections or any defense or resistance aspects of the battle.
