ReinXI -> Faction armors (1/16/2013 19:19:34)

SO I was thinking and what if there were faction armors?

there would be a mutating armor that could be available from an npc who stands near/ inside a faction HQ

The armor would be lvl 1-35 obviously ( would work excellent in the new omega system )
and there would be two a exile styled one ( a more guerilla fighter/ rebel look with a sci-fi feel)
as well as a legion styled armor which has a sleek imperial/ intimidating appearance

the npcs selling the gear could be like "exile/ legion quartermaster"

the armor would be 10k as to make it accessible to newer players early on as well as it also being easily
obtained by older players due to the relatively cheap price

Just figure this could sort of support a more community based standing and support joining/ creating factions
( only problem I forsee is people joining grabbing an armor quitting joining the opposite side grabbing the armor
which really isn't a problem since only collectors would really do that I think..." )

I would love to see a dynamic Armor similar to the Delta Armor, but with obvious differences that include the Faction flag on the shoulder area. Perhaps a different type (visually) for Faction Founder, Officers, and Members. All with the same amount of def/res and stat points. Which would be customizable in Omega.

It would be great if they allowed Faction Founders to create these armors in a similar manner as some flash dress-up games work. I'm sure someone at AE knows how to do this. It would also be fun if the armor parts had to be unlocked by accumulating Influence. Just tossing some ideas around. :)

@^ I like the idea of different stuff per rank. I also think that you would get the armor for having influence, not by purchasing with creds, this would make people try and get influence mot just credit farm. Overall SUPPORTED

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> RE: Faction armors (1/19/2013 10:06:01)

Supported, sounds like a great idea

Average -> RE: Faction armors (1/19/2013 13:42:30)

I like this idea. I also like the idea of better looking armors for factions with more influence. I also like that you need enough influence to obtain the armor. I support all of these ideas.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Faction armors (1/19/2013 14:05:43)

I like the idea of earning influence to get the armor
Founders get to design the armor, using parts built by a member of the staff
Neat idea, supported

shafaul12 -> RE: Faction armors (1/19/2013 18:34:06)

Supported

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Faction armors (1/19/2013 20:28:34)

seems insteresting, even though im not a faction kind of person, but i support

Yajima -> RE: Faction armors (1/19/2013 20:38:22)

supported, i think that would be pretty awasome.

Steel Slayer -> RE: Faction armors (1/20/2013 8:51:26)

Definitely supported, I like the idea of requiring Influence to get it as well.

ReinXI -> RE: Faction armors (1/21/2013 17:01:35)

hooray something I suggested got support

plus yeah influence could help plus the reason I would be against it being designed by the leader of the faction
is that could just cause a lot of un-needed work that the devs wouldn't need cluttering up there work hours. So that's
why I would say just release it for influence ( or maybe battle tokens since it requires a lot of fighting to make a good number)
but yeah credits does seem like a bad idea xD

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: Faction armors (1/21/2013 17:04:22)

maybe color customized to your factions flag colors? also, with the symbol on the side like the exile or legion symbol on the side of exile crusier from the infernal war?

ReinXI -> RE: Faction armors (1/21/2013 17:18:24)

Well it would be a little better to make it color customizable because not everybody might agree with the faction leaders sense of style/ colors
so the exile/legion symbol could work

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Faction armors (1/22/2013 1:25:23)

I love the idea that the armor would mutate depending on faction tiers. I would suggest the following tiers:

Poor Appearance-Not in a faction
Basic Appearance-Member
Better Appearance-Top Member
Much Better Appearance-Officer
Best Appearance-Top Officer
Very Different Appearance-Founder

Part of the artwork on the armor would change to match the flag of the faction you are currently in.

The more I think about it though, it would work ideally as an armor "skin" that you could only equip if you are in a faction that has purchased the feature.

The armor should also have a symbol on the side indicating the level of the faction it was obtained in.

theholyfighter -> RE: Faction armors (1/22/2013 2:48:03)

Good.

RetroReactive -> Faction Armors (1/22/2013 20:56:24)

Hiya guys!

I think that there should be Faction Armors, but only used for 1v1, 2v2 battles and free roaming (in other words, roaming the server). But heres the twist: every 5 levels you go up, you upgrade the armor just like you upgrade your character. So the armors have passive
skills, and can add 4 skill points each 5 levels. And the armor is not sellable.

DA BOSS IS HERE -> RE: Faction Armors (1/22/2013 23:04:46)

Just asking but would the armor be just a costume thing or will it have Defense because if it was an armor on its own lv 1 would be very Tank

UnderSoul -> RE: Faction Armors (1/22/2013 23:11:24)

^A level 1 with 10k?

DA BOSS IS HERE -> RE: Faction Armors (1/22/2013 23:13:49)

I don't know it could be unlocked by faction influence

UnderSoul -> RE: Faction Armors (1/22/2013 23:15:36)

Considering he specifically said it would cost 10k, I don't think it'll be a problem.

ReinXI -> RE: Faction Armors (1/22/2013 23:51:37)

Even if it was based on influence ( which would still take time to unlock ) with omegas leveling system the armors stats/ defense will be scaled to your level so anybody with an armor at that level will have the same amount of defense from there armor. Balance wise it would be fine and this would support factions and would be a way for newer players to get an armor that can be used up until they can have a steady income etc etc for other stuff.

willendorf -> RE: Faction Armors (1/22/2013 23:55:11)

Influence makes the most sense otherwise you can just farm NPC's for it... To get the faction armor you should actually have to help the faction (after omega release NPC's wont give influence)
