Nah, that would be pretty annoying for sure. The box has several ways to close:
1. click anywhere on the box (including the X)
2. timeout after short period of time
3. your computer explodes
Also, only one popup generates at a time so you won't be overrun.
Finally, this message does not replace all system messages for now, primarily you'll see these in your inventory and shopping experiences for now. The system will evolve as we move into Omega.
