Giras Wolfe -> What's most important to you in PvP battles? (1/19/2013 17:56:40)

Win percentage, win speed, or being unique? For some people, win % is the most important. They just hate losing and will make continual last-ditch efforts to save themselves and go down as hard as humanly possible. They exploit the battle engine as much as possible and work studiously to be as unbeatable as possible. For others, win speed is the most important. After all, all rewards in the game are based on number of wins and number of wins alone. They use reckless builds that either kill or get killed as fast as possible. For a third group of people, being unique and smart is the most important. When people battle them, they don't want them to think, "Oh, another Str BH, or Oh another Focus BM." They are strangely drawn to underpowered and seldom-used skills, classes, and equipment. They also usually think win % is important but view those who use a cookie cutter build for a high % as taking the easy route, and generally resent people who obsess over getting a high number of wins and care nothing about the beauty of the game's strategies and battle engine because those people get all the attention. There is no sweeter moment for these players than defeating a cookie cutter build with an outlandish, bizzare strategy. I consider myself a little bit of all 3. I spend a lot of time build testing, but that costs lots of credits and time and is often discouraging. I feel the need to get tons of wins for my faction and to earn credits to spend in omega, so in that sense win rate is probably the most important to me at the moment. As far as win %, I don't mind losing some battles, but I get very frustrated when I fight the same player over and over again and lose by a mile every time. That's when the inflexibility of a fast kill build really stings. What play group would you put yourself in? ~Gir
