Twitter Prize Inbound!
For those in the know, following us on Twitter is the best way to stay up to date with the latest EpicDuel developments. It's also the best way to get prize codes! To keep the excitement going leading up to Omega, we've been offering some pretty saucy rewards this weekend. Tonight, at 6:00 PM EST, Nightwraith will be posting a prize code that can be redeemed for an item never before released in-game! There is a limited supply, so be ready as soon as the code is posted for the best chance of redeeming the prize!

If you're new to the game or need a refresher course on redeeming codes, here's a post we wrote awhile ago explaining the process!

Codes...How Do They Work?

If you follow any of the ED staff on Twitter, you may have noticed us posting codes periodically. What are these codes and how are they used? Currently, the codes can be redeemed for free Starter-Kit weapons, but we are expanding the system to offer a number of different prizes. Here's a step-by-step guide for redeeming these codes.

Step 0: Get a Code

Currently, you can get these codes by seeing us in person at a convention or by following us on Twitter!

Nightwraith

Cinderella

Titan

Charfade

RabbleFroth

Step 1: Find a City Guard

They primarily hang out in Central Station and Fortune City. You can use the Delta V map to travel quickly between areas if you don't feel like going on foot (or by bike).

Step 2: Select the "Prize Code" option

[image]http://www.epicduel.com/images/cms/prize%20redemption%202.jpg[/image]

Step 3: Enter the Code and select "Submit"

These codes are currently one-time use so only the first one to redeem the code will get the prize.

Stay tuned for more developments on this exciting feature as we add features such as more prizes, more redemptions per code, and more ways to receive codes!

Cant wait for the next batch :)

Hopefully I will get a chance next time :P

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 12:16:52)

What if the code they give out has a expiration rather than a quantity? This could make it fairer than it is now, since the codes are all used up within seconds/minutes.

I am not saying make the code available for hours or days, but longer than they last when there is a certain quantity to them.

Still glad I got two of those side arms for my two characters![8D]

SouL Prisoner -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 12:26:03)

Like practel said, if they give out codes at different times, so will NW only give or any other dev or Ak (is it possible for NW to give codes at 1 AM ??), 'coz I need to follow them ...

Remorse -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 12:26:55)

@ Smakie, I support that,

As long as they also allow for different time zones or perhaps just have different rewards at more separated out times.

For example offer another different but equally awesome ultra rare at the complete opposite time as it was for the bounty pistol.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 12:37:23)

@Remorse

How about no. Then you are just dealing with the same situation as now. People miss out on an item because of time zones and then to the forums to complain.

Try to make it fair for everyone not just certain groups of people.

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 13:06:45)

Are we gonna be told if it's the Spoon or Guns being restocked in each code? I would love both since 3 of my chars don't have the Spoon and 2 of my chars didn't get the Gun. XD Or another exclusive item?

SouL Prisoner -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 22:30:08)

^ lol .. Stop being so greedy, let others also have :P

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 22:33:36)

Maybe, they could have released 250 at one time, then 250 12 hours later

Same goes for the spoons, release 90 at one time, then 90 at the other

It would be more fair

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 22:40:59)

well this is nightwraith's plan on how to make it more fair:
quote:

probably do one in the morning and one in the evening
12 hours apart
there will always be someone who misses out
if everyone got it, it wouldn't be a prize

yeah, we might have to restrict on account level
or ip

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/21/2013 22:52:01)

I think 1 account per IP would be fair

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/22/2013 8:03:02)

Blaze has a point there, would be fair in the long run but that means you also gotta choose which character (if you have alts). Besides, they are freebies, nothing to be against of because you didn't get free item. It's bad for the game in the end, just like real world and free health service. But that's another story.

@SOuL Prisnor
Eh. First come, first served. I managed to do it well to get it on my 2 chars (Spoons) and 3 chars (Guns). With such low quantity, I didn't expect my 2ndary will get it really.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/22/2013 8:14:24)

I think trizz's post nails it. One code per IP would do the trick for the same person redeeming it more than once. But if they give two codes out at different times it still isn't solving the same person getting that code again but meh not my problem[8D]

I can only redeem codes and thank them for the free items and I am gonna stick to doing just that.

Remorse -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/22/2013 8:56:21)

Problem with making it only one per IP, would be that say your brothers and sisters would miss out.

Though if its the easiest solution then maybe I guess.

Though if you way up what is a bigger problem, making it so people who live on a certain side of the world miss out, or make it so it can be claimed more then once.

I would put my vote towards including the majority into the nice free gifts.

Even if it has potential to be abused.

I just wish some people who complain about other people complaining would get a taste of their own medicine and for a change be the time zones that misses out.

Ranloth -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/22/2013 9:03:37)

But why argue over free item? So you missed it, and what? Fact it's free and being given out is good enough on its own, because you may have missed it, it does not mean that they must give out more to make it fair. *more = fair BUT someone will still miss it and demand one for themselves, so restocks, and restocks. Ultra-Rare item loses value if everyone have it*
ED is located in US, majority of players are in the US, they cater the majority whilst leaving the minority chance as well;
  • Players in Europe had chance to get at least the Spoon if not the Gun as well.
  • Those working night shifts would be awake if they play at night.
  • Those on holiday may not be asleep, or even those who have a school break.
  • It's free.

    Businesses don't cater for the minority, at least that isn't the priority in most cases. This is all about few free items that have unique art (Gun) and Spoon is seasonal rare. If you want that Spoon, wait until April and buy it. Want the Gun? Well that's a shame. It's only rare art, nothing else. All the other Guns in-game can do the same in Omega.

    Don't ruin the fun for others if you can't enjoy it yourself, it's not cool. >.<

  • Remorse -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/22/2013 9:07:04)

    ^ Im not arguing over free items,

    Im arguing for them to give others a chance next time, because they have hinted that their will likely be a next time?

    Are you seriously gonna complain about me sticking up for the other side of the world?

    I honestly dont care about the prizes i missed out on, I'm just asking if they could please make sure they include others next time.

    quote:

    Everyone was included. It's not like only the US twitter IP addresses got the code. Everyone that followed NW or was looking at his twitter feed had a chance.

    All there is to say is better luck next time.

    Remorse -> RE: =ED= Twitter Prize Inbound! - January 20, 2013 (1/22/2013 9:21:26)

    How can you say everyone is included, if there was only 3 hour before the announcement and the gift giving.

    Do you honestly think people sleep only 3 hours??

    WHY do you persist in making me argue with you?

    You have already said better luck next time,

    I thank you for that e.e

    But I am still allowed to give feedback to the devs for next time , am I not?

    You know its quite rude to constantly undermine peoples feedback when it wasn't first given to you in the first place.

    Can we just leave it at this???

    You think it was fair, I think it wasn't, Agree to disagree I dont care just I have had enough of having to constantly explain my reasoning to you guys.

    I would appreciate it if we could just leave it be thanks.
