Eventus -> The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 19:53:57)

All armors with "P" or "E" in their names right now will lose their distinguishing "P" and "E" tags when Omega is released. This is because you will be able to fully customize any armor you want to become focused on either Defense and/or Resistance at any point in time you desire.

In other words, armors that currently have P or E in their names will change into a duplicate customizable version of itself! For example, right now there is Ebil Hazard Husk P and Ebil Hazard Husk E in live. In Omega, they will both lose their P and E tags and will be renamed simply as "Ebil Hazard Husk." (So if you currently have a P and E version in your Inventory, then when Omega is released, you'll see that two identical "Ebil Hazard Husk" armors have replaced them; or if you have two P versions in your Inventory, you'll see two identical "Ebil Hazard Husk" armors have replaced those as well, and so forth—no duplicate or variant armors will be lost in this conversion process, but rather changed to become duplicates of the same thing).

However, "Physical," "Energy," and "Hybrid" armors will still exist—just not in the way you know them now. The developers have made it so that the text on every armor's item details panel changes dynamically, which basically means that your armor will update its own item description based on how you choose you distribute your armor points.

So in Omega, if you decided to distribute all your armor points into Defense, then your Ebil Hazard Husk will update to show that your armor is now Physically-based, or a "Physical Armor." (Example image linked below).

And if you decided to distribute all your armor points into Resistance, then your Ebil Hazard Husk's item description will change to reflect that it's Energy-based, or an "Energy Armor." (Example image linked below).

( image )

Lastly, if you decided to distribute your armor points in any combination of Defense and Resistance, then your Ebil Hazard Husk will update to show that your armor is both Physical and Energy-Based, or a "Hybrid Armor." (Example image linked below).

For a small fee, you will be able to redistribute your armor points anytime you want, and the text on your armor's details panel will always change to update your new decision accordingly!

Pretty cool stuff, huh? [:D]

xGreen Warriorx -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 19:56:44)

I didn't know you could change originally P or E armors into hybrid. Cool.

Sir Xander -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:02:54)

Definately Excitred to roll around in my Duds with +5 Hybrid :D

Stabilis -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:19:06)

It IS very cool stuff!

Giras Wolfe -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:25:44)

Excellent.

Calogero -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:32:09)

quick question:
What about the people that bought the energy and physical version of an armor...
Wouldn't this mean they bought it with Credits/Varium for nothing?

Giras Wolfe -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:33:20)

^No. They receive 2 copies of the armor.

Calogero -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:40:13)

but they bought 2 armors so they can have coverage over both energy and physical
for different builds...

Giras Wolfe -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:42:38)

^And they still can. They can enhance one to phys and the other one to energy.

Calogero -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:44:33)

but you can change the typing now for a ' small ' fee which nullifies the use of having the second armor

Mother1 -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:45:44)

@ giras

his point is what is the point of having two of that type of armor if you can change it to the other? Especially since armor will only be truly for show.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:48:50)

That is true, but unfortunately there is no way to avoid it.

ReinXI -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:52:44)

It Is kind of unfair for people who bought the P/ E versions of the armor because they wanted protection for each will now have a duplicate armor that
will be useless and the sellback won't be very good either. I'm not one of those thankfully but still seems kind of unfair!

Mother1 -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 20:53:37)

This sucks especially for those of us who farmed snork for both kinds of the ebil corp armor. Thanks to this change unless you wanted it for rarity points all that hard work just went down the drain.

Stabilis -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 21:01:28)

Holy crap guys (pardon my language I do not plan to work here anyways), you only need 1 armor now, no having to waste your time or money getting a second of the same item from Omega and onwards.

Now you can sell doubles for extra currency and never buy more than 1 again unless you want rarity which has not changed.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 21:13:36)

Mother there is only an Energy Found Armor

Mother1 -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 21:20:30)

@ owa

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I have to ask is there any other armor like this one that doesn't have a counterpart or is it just this one?

Rayman -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 21:22:46)

^
Just Founder Armor.

Eventus -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 21:34:34)

To those who are upset about having purchased or earned variants of the same armor: I'd just like to note that the "small fee" that I mentioned isn't exactly a colossal amount of funds: it's a mere 250 Credits. Titan had also mentioned this price in a tweet as well.

Also, technically speaking, you don't really lose any of the advantages you originally purchased when you got a variant armor, which was to simply have another armor with either Defense or Resistance points. Having duplicate armors will allow you to customize those versions differently to save you some funds and time from having to redo original customizations that are more effective with other builds, and this would come particularly in handy when swapping skill cores in your armor. You'd also be able to tailor the Defense and Resistance points in each respective duplicate armor to your liking... which is much, much better than being forced to stick with either Defense or—not and—Resistance.

From where I'm standing, I see this as a huge improvement, as it'll open many new interesting combinations and opportunities that I never had before from simply owning two preset variant armors.

kittycat -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 21:43:42)

I agree with Eventus. I although have 2 armors that are P, but once Omega comes out, My former 2 P armors alternate with each other, except one has Chairman's Fury and one doesn't :(

ED Prince of Shadows -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 21:46:12)

I've been tethered to +7 res for three years, it's time for a change.

Rayman -> RE: The Fate of P and E Armors (1/27/2013 22:16:44)

^
