Azwan -> Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 11:07:03)

For those who play Aqworlds you may be Familiar that there's a Hugh emphasis on getting armors and having different looks which don't effect yours characters stats in any way, making a big part of the game
A dress up game.

With Epicduel turning Omega and all items having the same stats do you think the same Think might happen to Epicduel where many
Players just care about different looks?

No.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 11:16:25)

ED will never become the cancer known as AQW.

Also...we have cores to look forward to :D

actually....this is my biggest fear [:(]

ED Prince of Shadows -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 12:03:14)

In a sense, yes. The items we use will be to reflect our time spent on ED and how awesome something looks. However, this game still will require as much strategy as it did before or maybe even more with the addition of skill cores.

Remorse -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 12:03:45)

It wont be a dress up game.

I can assume this because players are already restricted to certain weapons because of their cores now, so I imagine it would be even more of the case in omega.

I hardly see many capped varium players without platnims and the doom guns because of their great cores for example.

Plus aint nothing wrong with trying to get good looking gear.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 12:24:27)

yup, it will.

Ranloth -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 12:27:54)

AQ has that and no one finds it a problem? Weapon of the same level will have the same stats and everything but perhaps different lean (damage/accuracy), special or no special and perhaps effect. Here it's the same in terms of effects (cores), specials as well (passive cores), and lean can be done possibly at some point.

Stabilis -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 12:44:40)

If we forget about battle gameplay then it might become "dress up".

Drianx -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 12:56:06)

No, it will stay pay-to-win. To be more precise, pay-for-cores-to-win.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 13:20:08)

Nop, it's called freedom of choice.. A greater freedom of choice on how u want your character to look ..

It even reveals/reflects once personality too ... I totally support the omega greater freedom of choice attitude .. and with time everything changes., ur looks and ur style.

Mother1 -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 13:40:25)

Yes it will since all items will be the same and there will be no difference to them. All equipment will be for show since no stats will be fixed. we will be able to customize our weapons for battle with cores, and we will be getting new items and cores that don't have fixed stats.

You might as well take away the epic duel part and replace it dress up my little warrior since that is what omega is bringing.

Thylek Shran -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 13:42:02)

It depends on what type of items will be released. As long as they fit to the
cyberpunk environment (Dystopia) it would be harmonic.

But ED already has alot elements of a dress up game: Just think about all
those giggly and theme based items like Banana Suit, Pie Launcher,
Carrierzooka, Halloween items, Valentine items. There are also fantasy
characters and items like Dage the Evil and his gun, and other stuff that
doesnt fit into the classic cyberpunk environment. So are head styles that
are only there to dress up. Now when items no longer will have fixed stats
they can be chosen only by their look and price.

Conclusion: ED is already a dress up game but offers more strategy and tactic
as AQW does.

Sipping Cider -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 18:39:41)

@Thylek Shran

Couldnt have said it better. In a sense, EpicDuel is dress up game already, and even if it does become more of a dress up game the actual game is still dueling other players with strategy.

Wootz -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 18:54:50)

Nope. I have a feeling that most of you haven't played AQW, I did for three years.

It's impossible to make EpicDuel a dress up game. In AQW every item has a SET stat sheet for A level. In EpicDuel every items stat sheet CAN BE RE-ARANGED in any way possible. Also EpicDuel will have cores, in AQWorlds no weapon has anything special on it. That is a clear difference there, so EpicDuel has no way possible to be a dress up game.

Also, since I'm in good mood I will tell you a similarity between the two. In both games over-powered skills who are synergic to other skills classes provide make for easy wins. Example of both:
Bounty Hunter on EpicDuel and Vindicator of They on AQWorlds.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 20:18:41)

Yes

willendorf -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/28/2013 23:55:45)

I hope not - I only play AQW once in a while and that is only to change my look... I will probably stop playing ED often if it turns out exactly like AQW

Thylek Shran -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/29/2013 0:20:17)

@Wootz

I did play AQW for some years too and I am a founder there. I remember the
alpha stage in AQW when items had their own different stats. You write that
every item has a set stat sheet for a level. Well in ED Omega every item
(weapons, armor) will have a stat sheet for a character level too. It does not
matter much if those stats could be rearranged. This does mean that every
item in one category basically has the same power like in AQW.

Sorry but this is not really an example. You just named the BH class in ED but
not the synergetic skills that does make it OPed. I dont know the Vindicator class
in AQW because I had stopped to play this game for a long time but I remember
that some classes was more powerfull than others. Especially the classes that
got unlocked for paying customers of AQW and other AE games.

xxmirxx -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/29/2013 2:11:08)

i hate aqw i think it is turning to another awq world.

Wrathchild -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/29/2013 14:24:31)

True that, since you can get any item and they can be costumized to any level, but i dont think a level 12 non varium armor would be better than a level 35 founder / delta armor.

But anyways, yeah, that would happen, in beta AQW you got find certainly level sword (If im not wrong, mostly non-member weapons were level 8, and that was the cap, but the max level was 20)

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/29/2013 14:44:34)

They have killed it, like Club Penguin - that was always dead. So yes.

Haha, i remember Club Penguin, i loved the minigames xD

caser5 -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/29/2013 17:10:10)

I don't see it as a dress game now but going into Omega i think it will be, at least for non-paying players, because the best cores are coming out on the promotional offer weapons (therefore setting a p2p norm). It won't be as bad as AQW however, because PVP battle is the centerpiece of this game.

Banir -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/29/2013 19:31:30)

Could we stop saying it's a dress up game. I mean really. It's more about strategy than making your character look pretty. Think of it more along the lines of customization of your equipment. You still need to buy the equipment. If you really want to use that Basic Club, it'll cost you. There's also cores, which are probably better used with multiple weapons instead of switching them out constantly. Players who want to use good looking weapons can; but you still need skill to kill someone with it.

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: Will EpicDuel become a dress up game? (1/29/2013 21:38:17)

Epicduel is not a game of Pretty Pretty Princess or a stroll to Build-A-Bear. Its a battling game :P I dont think it will be a dressup game. :P
