sylar67 -> sold item (2/1/2013 12:04:38)

I don't get it , is it my bad that i sold many weapons cause they got useless and they said " we will never ever buff any item for no reason again " and now they buff alll the items to the max ? Oh and not compensate me for my sold items , i wouldn't have sold them if i knew i could buff them , my halloween auxes were the best looking items , they made it clear that they wont buff anything again so i had to sell them for slots space since i knew i wouldnt be able to use them anymore . and many other items . and you people still ask why all the legends are quitting ...

Lycan. -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 12:08:06)

I sold over 15+ weps because they became useless.

Remorse -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 12:12:48)

Well actually, a lot of them are returning for omega...

As for the weapons,
I admit it was a bit unfair that they said they will never buff rares again now they are doing it.

But I have to say why would you sell anything varium in this game?

Only varium thing I ever sold was my merc only lvl 25 armour from when i was in beta.

I dont sell because firstly I don't by bad stuff to begin with, and it simply not worth it.
The sell back is shocking so I figure keep it for its looks and rarity.

If you run out of space rather then wasting the varium you spent On an item selling something you could do the same thing buying slots.

And deep down I knew they would eventually allow rares to be buffed again.

If you were ever friend with me in game and asking for selling advice, you would be thanking me because I have already stopped a lot of people from selling their rares and I bet they are glad they didn't now.

... :| Seriously? Buffing rare weapons was referring to DEVS buffing INDIVIDUAL weapons because they were outdated. And here, they are NOT buffing them but you can upgrade them yourself at a cost. Two different things.

Mother1 -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 12:16:10)

And compensating people for everything they sold is fair? Seriously you got the sell back for the item and the 15% varium sell back when it came into play. Meaning that you got your money right there. Wanting both is just being greedy IMO.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 13:09:09)

I am with you Sylar. I had sold those same aux's a year+ ago thinking the same thing and for the same reason, more bag space. I do wish they would help out those who sold these items thinking they wouldn't ever be battle ready again.[:(]

Mother1 -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 13:43:45)

@ smackie

If they did that, then those who didn't receive compensating would feel a way. Think about it anything that is below that characters level would be considered outdated. The only way this would be fair would be if they gave compensating for all outdated items not just a chosen few if they were sold, and we all know that in a realistic sense you don't get compensated for things you already sold especially when you got money back for it when you sold it.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 13:52:01)

@mother1

I'm not looking for compensation for these items that were sold. That's not what I was agreeing about with Syler's post. It's the fact that we were told items will not be changed/nerfed/buffed/enhanced/meta-morphed/any other word that changes the weapon. Now all items are getting this option and for the veterans that have been around for awhile and filled up their inventories back in the day and then had to sell some gear to get newer level cap gear. It is a bit of a low blow[&:]

Stabilis -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 14:05:07)

I do agree with redemption for lost items, but it does not have to be a gift it can come with a price (after all we did choose to sell such items ourselves).

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 14:09:17)

Saying this, all the things I sold from zeuszooka to Ghoul cannon have all received buffs - not very fair, is it?

Drianx -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 14:54:50)

@smackie
I was trying to explain the exactly same thing few days ago, with little success though.
I'm with you and Sylar on this one.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 15:39:15)

Even though i started in delta, i think this is unfair.
They should give all players the option to but it back for 15% of the original price (sellback value)

That way they dont have a advantage over the people who did kept it.

ED Prince of Shadows -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 15:48:58)

It should be buy back for full price to be fair to the people who kept the item.

What do you mean? 'Sold' implies that you did get compensation.

sylar67 -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 18:31:48)

in rare cases if someone is hacked , with a real good case not like those kids who give out their passwords , in these rare cases they give the player a chance by giving him his items back that he can use those items if sold , they would sell for 0, cause the hacker already sold them , what i'm saying is we don't want them back for the c0mpensation, nor for selling them again , we want them for the use of them that they PROMISSED about not getting usefull in any case again , well not at the top level .

Ranloth -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 18:57:51)

No. They promised not to buff items individually at their discretion which means Devs manually edit the weapon and give it a buff. Upgrade system =/= individually buffing a weapon. Whilst it is a buff in form of upgrade, it's NOT the promise that was made by Devs. If you don't want rares to be useful at top level, don't upgrade them.

Just remember, new Upgrade system =/= promise made by Devs. Buffing rare items individually =/= upgrading them thus =/= promise made by Devs.

Also, all weapons will be equal in power so it's all about the art. Rare cores may exist but that'll apply to ones that have abilities already on the current system.

Lastly, don't confuse promise made by Devs with Upgrade system. Two different things. Upgrading weapons = improving at cost of Credits/Varium, buffing weapons = giving them manual power boost (such as Devs buffing them manually).

quote:

[00:17:20] <Trans> Rabble, can you clarify that upgrading weapons in Omega does NOT mean Devs are breaking the promise of not buffing rare weapons at their discretion?
[00:19:45] <Rabblefroth> The entire system is changing to allow you to use any weapon at any level, so that doesn't really apply any more. They won't explicitly have more power than other weapons
[00:20:10] <Rabblefroth> And we certainly don't want to not allow you to upgrade rare weapons

So as I was saying..

ND Mallet -> RE: sold item (2/1/2013 21:29:03)

quote:

As a general rule, no buffs will be granted to rare items. This is regardless of their status as Limited, Seasonal, Promotional, etc. In order to achieve a more balanced system of play, buffs cannot be guaranteed or handed out on a regular basis. This policy has been decided by the game staff and is not likely to change. However, if you feel that your case is especially strong, that is, you have numbers and evidence to support your conclusions, you are welcome to contact the game staff using this forum's PM system to discuss it more thoroughly. Keep in mind that the game staff cannot promise that your case will be followed through upon, as the game's balance will take precedence over personal requests for the sake of all of the game's vast player base.

1. All rules have an exception.
2. It does say there's no guarantee that they will be buffed but it also leaves open the possibility to buffing items if there's a balance issue and for the sake of the player base.
3. It says it is not likely to change, not a guaranteed this will always be the case. Plus, "for the sake of the player base" they have decided to allow people more freedom in their weapon choices as well as to make all weapons equal to one another(with the exception of swords which get more damage and stats)
