1wd -> NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/5/2013 21:12:50)

I used to be able to destroy NPCs with not much effort. Now it's nearly impossible, since HP/EP has been nerfed, and the fact that NPCs are still meat shields. Without enhancements, even more hard to stop these NPCS now. NPCs should be nerfed, because now it's too hard to beat them. What do you people think?

Mother1 -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/5/2013 21:23:44)

Not supported. If they are going to be unlimited lets not have them as punching bags. It is only fair since they aren't going to give wins anyways.

hijinks -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/5/2013 21:38:29)

I've never tried beating an NPC before in Omega. O_o Is it THAT hard? I still have a struggle fighting the level 30 mechachilids back in Delta.

1wd -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/5/2013 21:48:16)

I'm speaking for the people who haven't gotten cheevos from some NPCs, who are now going to be unstoppable. You're right about the punching bag part, Mother1, but they are now too hard to beat, and that needs to be balanced, hence the fact I posted it in this specific archive (game balance).

Practel -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/5/2013 21:50:59)

I think it's a bit to early to call the shots of OP/UP a little more than an hour after Omega released...

Give it a few days/weeks, see how balance adjusts, then adjust your stats and build accordingly. I know that in the moment you are probably upset since you can't beat them, but maybe try leveling up a bit, changing strategies, etc...

You're probably right about that.

RabbleFroth -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/5/2013 21:58:57)

It may take a little time to get used to all of the changes and adjust your build (Remember you have a lot more freedom than before now!).

jzozezjzozez -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/5/2013 22:04:21)

Great update. Took me 9 rounds in an epic death battle with a NPC

theholyfighter -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/6/2013 4:39:20)

I think Overlord Guard got a nerf!

Remorse -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/6/2013 7:34:07)

Ok

I will point this out, what is the dam crit rate on the NPCs!!!

I used to get hardly ever get crited.

Now, The very first NPC i versed crit me 6! TIMES! IN A ROW!!!!

What is up with that???

Plus I had decent support as well.

Seriously screwed up NPC crit rates.

Now basically they all hack crits like nightwraith used too....

theholyfighter -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/6/2013 8:52:02)

^That's not all.

They give only 12 credits per win!

Uh.... what? This is the endgoal of omega, but currently omega offers just a bare minimum in terms of extra freedom.
You can choose your def/res combo on armor
You can choose between one of two cores, some of which are flat out better than others which will just end up in the core system being a broken mess if it continues.

That's all you get in extra freedom, and that's almost negated cmpletely due to juggernaut being imbalanced like mad, essentially removing a full game mode.

Depends on the methods used to create builds. I personally do mass battle simulation in my head which is, in my opinion, ridiculously faster than any other method.

RabbleFroth -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/6/2013 11:36:28)

The credits you get are based on your level vs. the NPC level.

Even = 32
-1 = 28
-2 = 24
-3 = 20
-4 = 16
-5 = 12
>5 = 0

You are no longer constrained by what level-appropriate weapons have for stats, nor do you have to spend stats in things you might not want just to equip said items.
We will also grow and balance the pool of cores over time.

To address the strength of NPCs, it's definitely possible some or many of them are too strong.

We want them to be consistently beatable with a solid build, but not boring "I strike you 4 times and win" stomps.

Is there room for improvement here? Certainly. We wanted to err on the side of caution though for the release to prevent everyone from just farming NPCs and avoiding PvP. Your feedback is definitely helpful for gauging where the issues lie.

Combatoid -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/6/2013 22:19:59)

I currently support weakening NPC's(SOME)
For example, Frost Demon in frysteland has 200 hp and had a very high crit rate and damage output. I was barely able to beat him...once.

Average -> RE: NPC are totally OP after Omega (2/6/2013 22:53:50)

@Remorse

Phew. I thought I was the only one having this problem. I get critted twice and blocked in one match, it gets seriously hard. Like 90% of matches the NPC gets at least 1 crit on me.

I would rather not adjust my build, because it has become quite expensive...
