Made 4 Sunny Days -> One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 4:44:24)

Starting off I would like to say that I am enjoying the omega update very much, the creativity it offers us is great.

That said, I have noticed that for each class there is one or two builds that seems to rule that class.

Merc: Strength abuse+zerk
Tech mage: Support/strength
Bounty: Strength/Smoke/Massacre
BM: Strength (As usual)
TML: Focus Strength
CH: Strength/Malf/Massacre

More and more people are cookie cutting these builds and I find it rather bothersome...
The best part about omega was supposed to be freedom with builds and that build creativity would be the center stage off EpicDuel Omega.
Im not seeing much build creativity/originality among many duelers aside from myself (if you've fought me you know what Im talking about) and a few others.

Do you guys try to create fun interesting and possibly unconventional builds? Or are you basing your builds (or copying) off other people's builds? Do you have a build that you want to try but can't due to the overwhelmingly amount of strength users?

Ranloth -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 4:47:51)

I actually went for Focus 4 with exception of.. not using Bot for damage, just my stat layout says so. My build is the same as planned before Omega but my primary. With cores I have, I can disable one's Ranged weapons, drain rage, disable one of the skills, drain some EP & my skills allow me to heal and debuff Strength which somewhat deals well with Str abusers, especially with Omega's active core that debuffs.

Likely gonna stay with this build, with maybe tweak to my stats sometime soon for a bit more defence. That is, if it gets buffed or offence gets nerfed a little. I certainly await for more cores since I don't have passive one on my Armor and Aux since existing ones don't suit me. :3

the final hour -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 4:49:10)

i would argue its more the stat thats the problem strengh and the affect it has on certain skills that make them deal massive damage . zerker massacre bludgeon etc.

yes we do but most of us wind up copy and paste builds cause we simply cant find a reliable safe way of beating theese OP builds . without luck

ale6300 -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 4:55:06)

Iam Using 5 Focus Build With BH and work better than massacre, and have more freedom of strategies.

Made 4 Sunny Days -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 5:00:14)

@Trans

That's awesome :) And I definitely am excited for more cores.

@Final

That's what makes me sad. I was so excited to see unconventional and creative builds, but so many are thrown away by the cookie cutter strength builds...

DeathGuard -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 20:32:26)

I really laughed at this, they are the weaker ones. Why I said that? I use an overload build and I beat all abusers except for tech abusers that I beat sometimes. ( e.g. OWA which has a tech abuse PB build is pretty strong and he beats out the crap of those builds.) I'd say Overload and PB are the stronger ones.
EDIT: OWA was capable of beating me with his build, and also I was capable of beating his build. We'd fun fighting each other.

Going first is crucial now in Omega, if you go first and have a build that deals maximum damage between few turns, you've got higher chances to beat your foe.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 20:39:26)

I would like to add that the two turn total strength abuse builds are a pain to beat but most people use a three or four turn strength abuse build which is much easier to beat for me as I have a three round build that stays viable until at least round nine, thank you AxeofFury for that match, but going first is your one build to rule them all. If you go first you can set the tone of the match to go in your favor or against you and in most cases that is ultimately what wins or loses the match

OmilliYo -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 21:35:52)

I tried copying a varium emperor build back in gamma but it was impossible. So now i just make my own builds. I use a Level 4 focus build which i love very so. I've never seen any one use it so i guess its "original". I need to figure out a good 2v2 build because i always use the same build for everything (except strong NPCs)

President Obama -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 21:37:58)

----------------------

I personally use the MERC build, it is pure genius, I mean if you can go through and 2 hit most 35's then you know you have a winning build right there!

More like Support/Malf/Massacre.

You have one of two things:

- Malf (~35 tech at level 4), Aux, Static*, Massacre.
- Malf, Aux, Regeneration, higher level Massacre.

*: Can also be Omega stat debuff, Aux, Massacre.

RabbleFroth -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/8/2013 22:18:31)

We'll be aggressively making changes over the next several patches as we feel comfortable with making them.

Definitely do not plan to let balance stagnate, but it might feel like we're making changes slower than you would like because we want to avoid balance whiplash where we change the same thing over and over because we didn't get it right the first time.

Strength and strike-based skills are definitely on our radar, as are a number of other areas.

priest_hidan -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/9/2013 12:18:35)

^Rabel, hopefully you guys are also aware of the mass amount of blocking and deflection. it seems like having 5-10 more tech or dex makes a guaranteed block or deflection. if you nerf the str then people with shadow arts, massacre, and 5focus build will be really powerful. i have been all 3 classes over the years... and feels like for merc the str build is just a hit/miss game. if you miss you lose. and it feels like the bh and ch are really taking advantage of shadow arts and dex with 5 focus which gives them mass damage power and blocking power.

Cookielord12 -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/9/2013 12:22:50)

Im a 5 focus BM leaning Sup and Tech :)

For me 5 focus bounties cause a bigger problem than Strength.

ScarletReaper -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/9/2013 12:59:12)

My merc has always been a strength build and still is now because there is no way I can make a decent tech build anymore. I tried support but found it even more overpowered than strength. My bounty is strength till I get the creds for a good bot so I can go 5 focus.

13891389aaaaa -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/9/2013 13:36:00)

Yes this is absolutely true. I am TM and i can tell you that str/supp is nowhere near the RULE THEM ALL build. Tech is the supreme ruler.
Today or tomorrow ill be uploading 2 pvp videos for all 3 battle modes with the same build. Of course they will show only wins as a proof of OP-nes, but the actual win rate was over 80% in all modes in about 30 battles.
Looking at Omegas leaderboards % i can see that average win rate is around 60-70% for good players. 80% in all modes with the same build( and only generator core) is too much.

caser5 -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/9/2013 13:55:59)

Right now I'm a TM and have a build geared towards Str,Dex and Tech. With the skills I have It's like a counter to most abused-builds, using Atom Smasher to take away some of the double strikes/ berserkers from Str builds, using blood shield to try to wane the effects of tech builds, although I usually spend more time defending myself than attacking and lose by 30hp to level 35's. This recent patch has helped me A LOT by raising my hp and mp as well as defenses.

nico0las -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/9/2013 14:28:29)

I'm at the point where I can't stand to log in. I play Epicduel for fun. I have no intentions of having a +90% or anything.
HOWEVER, after being essentially pulverized by players multiple levels lower than me who click only two buttons during the entire battle,
it's not enjoyable.

I use a support/tech build (going back to the support mage roots ;)), and it has a certain degree of success. I didn't have so much
difficulty beating strength builds, but with this new patch I find it progressively more difficult to do so because they now have over 120
health. I find myself relying on overload to win battles so that I can at least slow down the relentless charge of these mercs, but the skill
works maybe one in 10 times, even though I have more than 50 support than my enemy.

Darkeroid -> RE: One Build To Rule Them All (2/10/2013 7:12:57)

Tank caster. 80% ratio. Not dependent on luck.
