STRUT MY MUTT -> Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/9/2013 10:07:31)

I think last night's update was a nice improvement. Don't get me wrong, there is still quite a few tweaks and adjustments needed, but it's already made the game play a little bit better. I played for about an hour last night and about an hour this morning and it wasn't a miserable experience, for the first time since omega started. So there seems there's hope.

A lot of the Omega ideas are good, but a few are really bad. I still think the hardcore Variums deserve a minimum ten point advantage. That's very slight versus the forty points we use to have. Also, bring us more cores.

Did anyone else hate Omega at first but are starting to like it?

What would make you like it more? (please be constructive here)

No need to be modest, realistically these "tweaks" and "adjustments" are actually cornerstones of the game that are now unstable, ready to fall.

Basing health was good medicine for the illness called low-health.

Calogero -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/9/2013 10:12:12)

Concussive shot core needs to aim at the highest trained skill, I don't like giving
a cooldown to a lvl 3 bloodshield when there is a lvl 7 frenzy and a lvl 7 toxic grenade...

Rage needs a overhaul due to less hp and defences with all them Str builds running amok...

Block and Deflect needs to be looked at...
Yesterday I got blocked by a person that had 21 dex
and when I tried a Dex Abuse of 150 dex including reflex boost, I got nothing...

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/9/2013 11:12:59)

First of all, I'd appreciate nerfing the NPCs so they can actually be farmed for credits with. I never hated Omega, but what I really want is for people to stop complaining/ranting about how Omega's terrible because it absolutely devalues var players.

Remorse -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/9/2013 11:15:39)

I find the current state MUCH better also then when it first started.

Which is a big plus.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 12:16:35)

^ opposite for me, I was actually digging Omega to a degree, but that base energy increase, I can't stand it.

This would be great.

@The OP
I like Omega,but as you said there is still some tweaking to be done.

I find all these to be a good idea :) if you have 50+ more dex there should be a 30-40% block rate. Concussive shot should be the Highest or one of the 2 highest skills. Rage should be lowered to ignoring 30% instead of 40%. So ya.

I get where you're coming from, but the focus of omega is balance between Variums and nonvariums.
You might not get an actual in-battle advantage, but you can get items faster, therefor its actually is an advantage. And also the boost, and fast class changing.

Note: I am a varium player myself, and I don't like all the complaining about 'varium cs nonvarium balance' First, everyone (even varium players) wanted balance, now? Hardly any varium player is happy. People will continue to find flaws in Omega, it is impossible to meet everyone's specific requirements. Thank the developers for what they did, not complain for what they didnt do/ didnt get right on the first attempt. Remember, this is the very begining of omega, it will get better in a few weeks.

xPl0opyx -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 14:22:58)

@killer666 30-40% block rate at only 50+ dex? are you out of your mind?

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 14:38:19)

I would like Omega more if NPCs were nerfed. It doesn't make sense to get our hopes up telling us we can farm NPCs for an unlimited amount of credits, and then we Omega finally gets here. We have been nerfed, NPCs have been buffed, they give even less credits, all of the items cost a far larger amount of credits, and the sellback isn't even 50% anymore. Like what the heck? That's pretty upsetting and disappointing. We players have received a small buff recently because of the way they changed HP and MP. But IMO NPCs are still a bit to strong, especially the Lvl 35 ones who can use auxs now. Not to mention luck is even worse in Omega now for some reason, I think its do to the change in Defense and Resistance, and HP and MP. Because luck is affecting me ways it never did before. Back in Delta I usually had no problem with NPCs, now they actually pose a threat to me, and if they get one crit or block, or go first I'm already at a big disadvantage. These are things I dislike about Omega, not to mention Cores costing 7,000 credits. If I wanna fully equip myself with cores I have to pay 56,000 credits! That's just insanely high. I rather buy varium then try and farm the Lvl 35 Mechanillid for endless hours until I can get that much creds.

Thats kinda the point....they want to balance everyone, but still make money.

That's the plan. Rabble acknowledged it but this isn't priority (such as has to be done by Friday's release/mid-week?) but it will be done. Priority is PvP for now and then PvE will be adjusted.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 14:51:49)

Nerf the str berz mercs and i will agree this update is good!

_i_am_a_helper_ -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 18:56:34)

Its not even luck anymore, its just plain stupid. Omega was good for me for a bit, but then the leveled health came. It was my advantage for a bit, but now its retarded. I just lost 3 battles in a row (notice they were all first turn). The first, a level 35 who got a deflection and 2 blocks. The next, a level 32 who got TWO STUNS and ended off the battle with a crit berserker. Frustrated, I found a level 29. He got first turn, 3 crits, 1 deflection, and a stun. I had to heal at one point and when he beat me, he typed in gg. I was so frustrated that I called him a noob (which I regret), and he said,"y i didnt heal" That last statement left a dent in my wall.

zippinbolts -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 19:27:20)

I kinda like it.

nico0las -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 23:42:29)

On one hand there is a huge amount of progress to be made.
As I have stated before though, this has HUGE potential, and the previous update is a step in the right direction.
I hope the devs know what they're doing, this could be fantastic.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/12/2013 23:57:50)

I gotta check :D

Anyways ... I'll answer ur question once I have checked :)

Or if u could please tell me the update details ??

Thylek Shran -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/13/2013 1:38:54)

Base energy increase really is a problem because it makes the most energy
drain skills and cores useless if you are not an OPed Tactical Mercenary tank.
EMP Grenade and Energy drain cores need a buff and TaMs and BMs a nerf.
12-15 energy drain on cores which could even put your ranged weapons into
cooldown are just laughable while Meteor owns. The energy cost for Atom
Smasher should be increased. 6 energy for a level 1 Atom Smasher is ridiulous
cheap. It should cost at least 10 energy like EMP Grenade.

Alot other skills and classes need to be balanced. Just think about support and
strenght mercs that can kill and win in just 2 turns. Warmup of Berzerker and
Multis should be like the Final Skills because they are so powerfull.
Bunker Buster, Plasma Bolt, Fireball, Massacre, and Super Charge need to be
nerfed too. This would also balance the Jugg mode because the anti jugg
players, especially the offensive builds, mostly are still to strong for the Jugg.

What I like the most in Omegs is that basically all players have the same ammount
of skill points (swords can make a difference but some skills are locked for them).
Now credit players have a much better win chance against varium players and its
fun to smash all the players that you wasnt able to beat before Omega.

PS: NPC rewards should be higher. So boost those credit rewards because its
the only reward they give now. I can make much more credits with PVP than
farming NPCs.

Liz Vicious -> RE: Omega, I think I'm starting to like it (2/13/2013 8:05:20)

It's struck me as being essentially very much like the Beta experience. With the basis being on build and who goes first. Weapons, armor etc being a minor point. So, I've liked it for that. As I've also enjoyed using old weapons again because there now viable. Like Beta but people take it to seriously these days...
