Level of Difficulty (Full Version)

I would like your opinion, on whether EpicDuel in terms of being a degree in difficulty, where it fits the spectrum from:


Easy
Uncertain
Hard





Easy is comparable to a casual game like Farmville, uncertain if the question is indeterminable, or hard which is comparable to very intellectual or skill-draining games like Formula 1 or Corvette (not intellectual but still skill-draining).

I am not looking for loose answers like "any game is hardcore if you want it to be", because that bears no real results. Think about your EpicDuel history, how would you describe past battles in terms of difficulty?

Do battles:

•Test your ability to problem solve
•Require you to multi-task
•Constantly occupy your attention and focus
•Offer a broad selection of options or possibilities
•Demand multi-layered thought process (eg: if this happens (if this happens (if this happens () or if this happens ())))

If you answer 'no' to more of these questions than 'yes', you are implying that EpicDuel is less difficult; a more casual game. If you answer 'yes' to more of these questions than 'no', you are implying that EpicDuel is more difficult; more of a hardcore game.

So what do you think? Is EpicDuel gameplay more intuitive or is it complex?

Why I have said 'Offer a broad selection of options or possibilities' is a no is because, there is not much freedom in builds, only main ones like str,focus,support,caster etc. And not many possibilities for me as certain builds which effect the game

And the game doesn't occupy my attention neither focus ( unless it was champ day, then yeah!). This is because of reasons which I can't mention.


I would say its more complex, alot of problem solving such as missions, and making your builds with numbers also figuring out what damage you would possibly do next. Alot of mathematics involved in this game.

Yes it tests my problem solving ability (albeit a tad)

Doesn't really make me multi-task (apart from thought process)

With Omega I would say Yes to this (Intro of Decrease to Level significance.)

Yes to broad selection. (at least of items as for builds there's almost always a best build to use, ie. Str abuse, but I'm hoping that this will improve)

With Omega this is required for me in most battles. (through there is almost always a best thing to do in any given situation)

I think it's intuitive at first then it progresses as you do into a somewhatly complex game.

•Constantly occupy your attention and focus Yes. Seeing as I play a build that adapts to my opponent, I have to watch every step of the game.
•Offer a broad selection of options or possibilities Yes, however most choose to be narrow minded and abuse builds.
•Demand multi-layered thought process (eg: if this happens (if this happens (if this happens () or if this happens ()))) Yes.

I would say uncertain because it serves as an average between easy and hard. Whenever I play against an experienced player, it is quite enjoyable and quite difficult. On another hand,
there is a great sum of players who have no idea what they're doing, so every once in a while I have some of the easiest wins ever.

Let us pretend... 2v2 or Juggernaut. Focusing on both enemies at once. OR, focusing on an enemy and yourself at once. So overall, focusing on any 2 things or more in battle simultaneously.

What this point means, is in essence, watching every turn play through so not just your own. Yes there is downtime while waiting for someone's turn to commence, but other than that, taking each moment as an equally important event, occupying most if not all of your attention.

You guys can answer 'no' to any of these questions if you think they are not significant in EpicDuel. But, that as an answer would also procure some results on the theme of this thread.

Battles are not difficult. The challenge comes from trying to compensate for uneven matches. For example in 2v2 if your team is two lvl 30s, and the other team is a lvl 35 and a 30, you are at a disadvantage from the beginning.

I believe that this game will become much more strategic as more skills/skill cores are added. It is on the harder side for those who use true build planning and strategy, but easy for those who copy the next overpowered build are use it unil it is nerfed.

•Demand multi-layered thought process-No.The only games that demand this are stealth games.

Battles requre A LOT of strategy now.
