Currently it looks like this:

My suggestion is to make it like this:

Berzerker: Strike an enemy three times for massive damage during combat. Energy Required: Level 1: 27
Level 2: 29
Level 3: 31
Level 4: 33
Level 5: 35
Level 6: 37
Level 7: 39
Level 8: 41
Level 9: 43
Level 10: 45

Weapon Required: Club(1)
Stat Required: 19 Technology(2) (at lvl 1)
Level Required: 5
Improves With: Strength
Warm Up: 1
Cool Down: 2

1. As you can see, i made the wep requirment on a club, why you ask?
First of, the % is calculated of the primarys dmg, and a sword now has 36 dmg, a club only 35.
So a maxed Berz deals 33dmg on top of your own str and primary dmg WITH A SWORD.
A maxed Berz deals 32dmg on top of your own str and primary dmg WITH A CLUB.
This isnt much difference, but they also lose the 5 stats of the sword that makes there str or dex also go down.

2. Mercs currentle have stats looking like this:
Str: 60
Dex: 43 (for Hybrid Armor)
Tech: 18
Sup: 20
This will force them to take off stats from either their STR or Health, which now makes them nearly unbeatable.
They will still invest points in dex because of less block chance and Hybrid Armor.

These are small changes, but it will hurt them, and good.

Nah , no need for it , since it's actually the bonus EP / 2 lvl ups that made them able to do that easily with high STR .

I then use my gun to further drain energy, and my EMP takes 36 energy by the way, so yeah.
I know the difference, except that it is still possible in theory, but it would be their only move if they have high amounts of energy.

Your gun is in cooldown by my Yeti ;)
Emp takes 36, i have 70 base energy. I put 10 on res so generator restores 25.
Your emp and gun would not hold me back

72 - 36 = 35

Blocking is the best berserker nerf. Otherwise, just take away a little energy. Everyone can do it now with the gun core.

Here's where the problem lies, blocking is the ONLY way to counter berzerker and you'll be lucky enough to get an actual full strength merc as most of them sport at least 50 dex with + 30 or 40 at the bare minimum, you'll have a pretty low dance of blocking that for real. Intimidate or Shielding is useless as the weapons base damage is too strong, they hit you tons with berzerker and double attack regardless and if you shield they'll yeti your energy gun/aux away then use undodgable physical if you shield resistance or proceed to maul/double strike you if you should physical. Unless you block there's just no way to win. Sacrificing a turn to drain energy gets you no where as the only reliable anti berzerker move is emp grenade ( assuming you added allot of points to it and are a hunter ) otherwise like what was said before any level 1 emp ~ 3 lv 1 energy smash or assimilate just gets generated away. If you do it before their first turn, they'll generator, then hit you with berzerker.

I just love how alot of people are complaining the skills and not the way the stat system itself ( as in the 1 Stat Point = 1 HP ) .

I was a str merc for 1 hour and i already quitted because it is sooooo boring.

But i used my yeti, and i would crush you if you saw me if you can only emp-energy shot me

How are strength spammers brainless? If they didn't have a brain, they wouldn't be alive. They'd be dead...

Berzerker isn't OP. It hasn't been changed for a long time and if it had to be changed, it would've. Its just something people's mind get when they see a lot of people using the same skill. When I used the same build, no one complained saying Berzerker should be changed. With this new balance update, Berzerker might get nerfed.

For your idea, it is an awesome one. It should make people get more Technology and sacrifice their other stats in order to use Berzerker. I only changed my class to get wins for the Yeti training missions since I kept getting bullied by the Mercenaries. I thought that Strength Mercenaries would dominate the game before Omega, now they do. This is one of the things the Balance Team got wrong. They could've asked our opinions on how to make the game stable rather than it doing it by themselves. We could've probably prevented this whole Strength Mercenary up rise.

nothing still changes...every new releases there are lots of complaints...
why cant just every1 fight wisely...
there is nothing wrong w/ berzerker...[8D]

imo...all classes have advantages & disadvantages
meaning to say all classes are equal... it's just the player who uses the class cant fight wisely...

that's why devs created the class change to make players have freedom on what class they would like to choose [8|]

.... lots of skills from every class have devastating effects if the player only knows how to use them...

Theoretically speaking, i thought people would understand, apperently not...
It means they lack of strategy and can't figure out a build so they just spam something to get there wins.

As a TLM I have to say Bezerk isn't OP. I can heal past it most of the time. I think a support req on it would be nice.

Wont work, there are already STR Mercs with insane support too.
they have like:
20 +35 primary
22 +39 aux

Only thing that would nerf them is a Tech requirment.

^ That only gives us 1 or 2 more turns to prevent it, but 2 more turns wont hold them because energy draining skills have a 2 turn cooldown so that wont work.
And it also wont make it less powerfull, only thing it does is that they use it later.

All they'll do then is lower their defense a little, raise their tech, and create a bunker buster/berserker build.

The skill itself needs to be nerfed. I don't think a Requirement is going to help anything.

You need unbiased opinions (meaning a merc cannot defend their own build) in a thread like this, just like how I defend Massacre even though I hardly ever use it. Your opinion really isn't valid if you simply say that it shouldn't be changed with no new reasoning and it is the particular build that you so love to abuse with.

I for one am a BH and still find strength mercs counter able the majority of the time with energy draining skills and hopefully even more so with Azrael's Will in addition to SA and high dex.
