Hey guys,

I just wanted to talk about what are some possibilities to making shields better than they are now.


Here are some previously thought solutions before, but I would like to bring them up again.

1) When shields (Reflex Boost, Defense Matrix, Blood Shield, etc.) are used, it includes with a strike.

2) Increase the effectiveness of shields.

3) Allow shields to last one more turn.

4) Decrease their energy/hp cost.

5) Make it scale faster per stat.

6) Make it able to stack on itself. (Ex. Defense Matrix+Defense Matrix) [I personally think this is a little dumb...but ok]

now for nerfers such as Smokescreen and Malfunction

1) Reduce the power of the strike on nerfers or even remove the strike.

2) Reduce it's effectiveness.

3) Give it a higher cooldown.

4) Make it cost more.

5) Idk....share some of your ideas :D

That is an interesting thought you have there: swapping the roles of the 2. It would be as balanced as it is now, but not any better surely. Because, imagine Striking with a Commander buff attached. The difference between this and our Smokescreen or Malfunction is no change in accuracy (which is not needed), and unbiased damage boosts (Primary and Sidearm damages increase regardless of their damage-type).

So I would support removing Strike from nerfers, but not adding Strike to buffers. Just because it caters to Primary damage alone and that in turn is closest in relation to heavy rage rates.

Ok number 6 is already in play meaning all shields can stack with each other no matter the combination. I have seen defense matrix, and reflex boost stack as well as technician and blood shield stack along with technician and energy shield.

I can also support strike less debuffs as well since it would be a nerf to some op strength builds as well.

However making debuffs scale faster no not supported. While this would be a buff to support since all but technician and blood shield increase with support it would also OP tanks builds that use shields especially if combined with making debuffs less effective.
