Trae -> why the name calling (2/20/2013 18:38:17)

as the name stats every one now is calling me a noob no matter what i do
(example a) get beat be a lvl 26 non var str merc (I'm a lvl 31 founder with omega gear) he calls me a noob

(example b) i beat a lvl 35 str bounty by getting a crit and he calls me a noob

why now is EVERY one calling other people noobs? even when it makes no since

what do you think

Mother1 -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 18:47:03)

For non variums beating variums it is simple. They are now getting back for all the loses that they suffered from varium players when Varium actually gave you advantage in battle. I have seen people say "you now pay to lose." or "I am glad I didn't spend money on this game like those varium noobs."

As for the second one they are just upset that you got lucky on them as it happened to me back in delta as well.

I know how they feel, as I'm a nonpaying player as well. But as some of you may know, there are also jerk varium players who have probably insulted them in the past. It's their way of getting their frustration out of their system indirectly at those jerk varium players. I don't agree about calling paying or nonpaying players noobs. But as Mother1 said, it's their way of getting back.

Hard boy -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 18:52:12)

what about not taking it personally, and be the bigger man. most of the time its coming from frustrations, just type hahaha to piss him off.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 18:52:46)

Where have you been for the last 10 years? People always spam noob when they either see something they don't like, when people don't listen to them, or when they lose. Hell even if they win by a slight margin or luck they'll say it. It's just a word universally spammed by idiots and immature people.

Very true. Also, if a player who almost loses and gets a lucky crit or whatnot, the person who previously had the advantage calls the other player a lucky noob.

Nightmarefang -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 19:01:39)

And actually, I've seen less of being called a noob on my main character (the one that shares a name with my forum account :P ) but I get it more with my lvl 27 support merc :? So not sure what exactly is going on...

I do get alot of insults for losing a juggernaut fight with my main, it's a 2v1 and I'm not built for it, it's just a fun diversion from the monotony of the same 1v1 losses and 2v2 crashing and such but I guess the lower levels feel somehow vindicated in killing the "big bully" higher level people they run into in 1v1? :c

hijinks -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 19:04:47)

@^

Yeah I can see that happen, just don't take it personally.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 19:05:25)

@ Hijinx

That's called, getting critical is only fair when I do it.

Edit : Also, people tend to act differently around so called "Authority figures" Pick a character that's fully decked out in the latest Varium gear and then chat around in battle, then go on a full credit lower level character and do the same thing. No matter what game you're playing you're going to be treated with respect if you're fully decked out and known to the public, then act the exact same on a lower level unknown character and get bashed.

Trae -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 19:13:41)

i do not take it personally and also no offense meant to anyone but i am more asking those who may call people name to think again and be nice
and encourage people who get insulted not to take it to heart

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: why the name calling (2/20/2013 19:16:18)

At first I was like "fudging yamit" when I lost to someone repeatedly after they called me a noob as if they losses confirmed it, but after my 3rd and 4th character I got over it and just look at them with contempt.

Drianx -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 2:39:07)

This topic will always be brought up because the devs are so stubborn not to implement a mute chat button ingame, although it has been requested countless times.

Or perhaps they think that forcing you to read being called 'noob' after a loss will make you buy varium in anger.

xxmirxx -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 2:45:42)

i am use to it by now don't matter if i am non varium or varium its always same it's funny tho.

Assassin01 -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 15:57:06)

I don't pay but I honestly despise that type of behavior. Yes,we lost to varium players alot previously but that doesn't grant us the right to act so childishly. Even when my partners call the people we beat noobs I tell them "There's no need for that" because it annoys the heck out of me so I make it my business to take out known name callers first but I do it in a way that the person they called a noob can beat them (once they're my partner of course, but it happens often enough).

Ignoring them is also another option.

Vagaran -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 16:13:24)

So today I got called a noob for owning the Azrael Gun and Aux + the Omega weps...kk. I'm pretty fine with those people, though a mute button would have been rather neat...

Trae -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 17:13:26)

@vagaran thats whats happing to me cause i have the founder amour omega weps and Azrael

Giras Wolfe -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 17:38:56)

I can attest as an owner of azrael's gun and aux I get flamed very frequently for spending money on the game.

hijinks -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 17:41:50)

Hmm true, but I understand why they are mad. The Epicduel team promised for cores that wouldn't be too OP. But there it is, the cores of Azrael gun/aux.

Vagaran -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 17:44:05)

^ I wouldn't call the Azrael Gun/Aux that OP. I've beaten a few Azrael Gun/Aux users before I bought the Azrael Gun + Aux. You just needs to think clearly and try to figure out when the opponent will use it. On the other side, however, I've encountered players who actually complimented me for owning a nice gun...I wish everyone was like those...

hijinks -> RE: why the name calling (2/21/2013 17:46:53)

True, as for the players who complimented you....That's great! However when you fight lots of people in 1v1 with almost more than a third of them you face with such weapons, it gets very annoying for some.

Drianx -> RE: why the name calling (2/22/2013 1:40:03)

I have tested dozens of builds since Omega started. That's because I refused to succumb to the mindless str merc temptation.

And all builds I tested had at least one weakness.

For example, I was once beat by a tech mage who has put almost all points into dexterity and spammed dex-strengthened skills. Guess what? He thought he was so good that he called me a noob.

It's this kind of idiots that need to be silenced.

I mean we are all playing EpicDuel to have fun in our free time. Some of us even decided to support the game by paying money. Then why not making our lives a bit less miserable with an option to avoid such worthless comments?

Just imagine as you walk on the street most people are calling you stupid for no reason, and doing no other harm to you. Although you decide to ignore them all, do you really think your day would be just as good as before?

Giras Wolfe -> RE: why the name calling (2/22/2013 2:30:19)

Azrael set is very beatable, you just have to use your head. Strength builds need to frontload on damage so the Azrael strike is a killing blow. Defensive builds need to heal early to prevent the one-two punch of azrael's will followed by a finishing move or rage attack. Focus builds need only a well timed yeti chomp.

As far as azraels torment, that core is far from overpowered. The initial auxillary shot is defended by the full bonus of the buff, and it still offers 45% protection for the next 2 turns its up. So, essentially, the skill will lower an energy shield from +20 to maybe +7, for the last 2 turns it is active, resulting in a maximum damage increase of 26. Switching to physical attacks is usually a better option.

Sure, these cores are useful. And they should be, because we bought $50 packages for basically nothing other than the two cores. But far from game-breaking or overpowered, as long as you know how to deal with them.

I actually enjoy the effect they have on the gameplay. Oftentimes I will fight another player with both the azrael set. There's so much instinct and strategy in knowing when to play your cards to stop your opponent at their most dangerous moment.

Mondez -> RE: why the name calling (2/22/2013 9:55:47)

Just went into battle and again in 1 v 1 players commenting how I can't even win with Azrael, luckily they didn't use "nub" or "noob", but main thing is that some of the players have some serious competition issues.

I remember back in Delta when I was told I had no life for buying the Delta Gear and varium weapons.

I play for fun and it's kind of tiring a bit when there are players that can't seem to get off the CoD attitude and enjoy the game. [8D]
