DeathiZClarity -> Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 2:49:44)

I began to think about some of your comments about the Golden Yeti tourniment.
Yes, I have a life too and will definately never win a 2-week long tourny. So I have came up with a suggestion of 'hourly' competitions (for those of us who cant play continously).
Maybe 1-4 times a day?

1vs1 hourly competition:

1st place: 2,000 credits
2nd place: 1,000 credits
3rd place: 500 credits

2vs2 Hourly Competition:

1st place: 2,500 credits
2nd place: 1,500 credits
3rd place: 750 credits

Juggernaut Hourly Competition:

1st place: 3,000 credits
2nd place: 2,000 credits
3rd place: 1,750 credits

NPC Hourly competition:

1st place: 500 credits
2nd place: 250 credits
3rd place: 200 credits

Percentage Hourly Competition (must have done atleast 35 wins during the hour):

100% wins - 5,000 credit
90%-99.99% wins - 3,500 credit
80%-89.99% wins - 2,500 credits

Note: Percentage competition would also encourage more solid, nonabusive builds.

*all competitions are just suggestions and rewards were very lightly calculated*

...DarkTechnology... -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 5:47:57)

It is a nice idea and i would like to see it in game but it might not be made in the game and the prizes should be lowered 1st : 1000 ,2nd : 750 ,3rd : 500
it would be nice to see it in game :D and ofcourse SUPPORTED!

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 7:21:44)

no, not supported, you say that it wouldn't encourage abusers or fast kill builds but i think it will, this rewarding system encourages players to use quick kill builds and often OP builds have a higher win% than balanced builds, take the recent update for example.
how can you get more wins than a OP build user by using a balanced build? they probably get 2 wins ahead of you while you manage to get 1 win.

and like i said before, the OP builds have a higher win% than a normal balanced build, or else it wouldn't be called OP would it?

classifiedname -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 7:31:20)

i support the idea, Quick kill builds = op builds? please don't even get started on that, people will use faster killing builds to win even if there is no competition. I do think however the rewards should be scaled lower

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 7:35:20)

in some cases, yes
look at the support abuse tech mages with or without the azrael promo, they kill quick and have a low % of losing, unless they vs another support abuse tech mage or cyber hunter.

classifiedname -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 7:40:32)

i wasn't saying that wasn't true, i was just saying it doesn't matter;
Well lets not get off topic here, this isn't a balance forum.

~i still Support this idea, if the prizes are scaled lower.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 8:02:51)

yeah the rewards are ridiculously high, it should only be 2k credit reward for the 1st place.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 11:53:15)

@ TrizZ

People use the most OP build they can anyway.

No, most 'OPed' builds are for quick kills, but they dont keep high win rates. And the statement I made about the discourages them build was about the percentage tourny.

And as I said, their just suggestions.

This is also why I gave the percentage tourny the highest reward.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 15:33:21)

I'd say like 250credits for 1st = 250 x 24 = 6000

....SKY.... -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 15:36:32)

Again sorry not supported, a lot of ways has been suggested to speed up the earning of credits - that should be the one and only role that varium plays in this game now - shortcut.

Xendran -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 15:46:38)

Rather than hourly, perhaps it would be best for fewer, but more scheduled and competetive tournaments.
PoE has recently added a race season that has races scheduled 1 to 3 times a day, where you can win reward points. These points build up as you compete more and can be used to purchase items that have cosmetic differences compared to their regular in game artwork.

If 24 is reffering to 24 hours, i said only 1-4 times a day.

As I said earlier:

Incase you hadn't noticed, people that pay large sums of money to get promos still win way more often than people that dont, due the the exclusive cores. In this case, people that pay money will be the most likely to win these tournaments.
And these tournaments would be a fun addition to the game, encouraging more people to play.

Warmaker04 -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 16:46:56)

even for hourly, 3 k for jugg is too much, all else supported from start to end

Fortitudo -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 17:17:04)

Hmm. Free credits is good.

DeathiZClarity -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/1/2013 21:58:58)

3k credit is too much? In Delta, I'd agree with this statement. But in Omega? 3k is next to nothing.

oh rly? i don't think so, 3k credits is too much, you already gain a lot of credits by fighting and now you get free free credits that's worth 100 battles/wins.

theholyfighter -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/2/2013 2:15:13)

I support this idea. However, add a rule for no consecutive wins on the tournament?

tracerxp0 -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/2/2013 3:41:13)

need to make a subject for rants im sick of the game i paid good money for the gear i had and for the enhancements ihad to give me the edge ihad now u take it away give me less than half my money back and expect me to like it give me a adress i can have my lawer contat u people at.U guys made a perfectly good game stupid.If u guys are worried about what the free players think u should just make the game free and never charged anyone

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/2/2013 7:32:51)

@above lol, i think you should learn about the server costs and storage costs.

G4m3r -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/2/2013 7:37:09)

^Donīt worry, varium canīt lose his vantage because if staff want they can make varium vantages like bring enhancements back or special areas, events, limited shops.
Look at the example of AQW, they have too many premuim features to go down.

Warmaker04 -> RE: Hourly competitions (3/2/2013 8:00:15)

3k credits its nothing for an hour??? LMFAO!.
Read triz post. 3 k credits in DELTA Are easy yeah cause broken items. here are hard lol. I edit you.
Easy if you have quick kill build. u get 3000 as 100 battle wins per hour also 6000 per hour. Unsupported.
This will just give a * Varium luxury a kiss * for a goodbye,
