Drianx -> LazyDuel (3/1/2013 6:07:43)

Players are becoming more and more lazy, and devs are encouraging it.

Many players are copying builds and fight patterns.

Many players are too lazy to think of a strategy to counter azrael's promos and call them OPed.

Many players are so lazy that even before seeing some gameplay changes, they already think they know which will be OPed and jump with nerf suggestions instead of thinking about a way to counter the advantages a change brings.

EpicDuel becomes more and more easy to play. Just jump to a strong class, copy a build and that's it. No brain. And if you win 100 times and lose once, come here crying for a nerf.

As long as this forums will have an influence on the developers, EpicDuel will go in a wrong direction. And endless loop of nerfs, buffs, and unsatisfation.

Beg you pardon, LazyDuel.

Well, unless you have the yeti and/or azrael yourself,
there is no real way to counter azrael...

I try to stick to the build I had a year ago
mah trusty 5 focus tank BM, which lost a lot of
its oomph with the latest unnecesary nerfs...

kosmo -> RE: LazyDuel (3/1/2013 8:00:22)

I wanna use the build I want to.I don t want to be stuck with a build just because of those weps and don t want to buy them just to make different builds.People became lazy because these days the game became terribly boring.

Stabilis -> RE: LazyDuel (3/1/2013 8:18:52)

Well, the main thing you have to do to win is click an overpowered attack because defences are unfruitful. Plus, success rates do not matter, only winning, but only in quantity vs quality... quantity wins.

Scyze -> RE: LazyDuel (3/1/2013 8:36:35)

I call myself an old grandpa who's retired and now sitting back in his couch watching what others do.

I thought EpicDuel should be called LameDuel since its lame for me now. Build copying has been here for a long time, there might not always be a same build but they're relatively closely linked.

drekon -> RE: LazyDuel (3/1/2013 10:25:14)

Until we have the ability to make our Skill Tree page private, there is absolutely nothing that we can do to prevent others from copying our builds. So, it's best to keep evolving your own build as I do. I've yet to see many people using my current build, and it's pretty good, but when I do I'll change it to something else to defeat them. Simple. ^_^

Mother1 -> RE: LazyDuel (3/1/2013 11:21:19)

The staff will never do this. It has been brought up several times to make our skill tree unseeable but you know what happens?

"NO because I don't want to fight blind! If I can't see what is coming I won't know what is coming until it is too late!" Then there the staff who would rather someone who can't find a build of their own copy someone else's rather then them just find one on their own which is sad. Because in any other game I have played or in any real life fight you don't know nothing about your opponent plans and moves and you learn them as you go this is the only game where you get a cheat sheet.

midnight assassin -> RE: LazyDuel (3/1/2013 11:28:03)

I remember the idea of angels holocaust about making our skill tree private. But the main problem is that there are other ways to copy builds. One good example is youtube. Although in my opinion fighting blind is better, it's impossible to remove build copying in this game.

ScarletReaper -> RE: LazyDuel (3/1/2013 13:09:51)

I hardly ever look at people's skill tree during my battles. I look at their weapons and class and can pretty much tell what they are from that alone. I HATE using the "Sheep" builds and always try to come up with my own build and strategy. For example...How many 5 focus support bounty hunters do you see running around? My alt is one. Might not be after they ruin support with the update though, but I know I'll have no trouble finding another one. Then again I think creating a new unique build is half the fun.

DoctorSW -> RE: LazyDuel (3/2/2013 3:08:13)

i have been accused of creating some innovative builds in my time, more than a few times. but since gamma and delta, build copying has become a necessity especially since npcs no longer count towards wins and added content is very often unpredictable in battle, or OP/UP as ppl like to call it. i hate build copying, but i have to admit, these days it seems like very few builds have a better than 60% win rate in any category, unless you are lucky enough to be under level 25 ( in which case you can breeze through battles like a hot knife through butter). Oh yea, build copying, 4 way 2v2 battles everyone a super support merc/tlm, or high mass bh/ch, or high plasma mage, or high bludgeon blood mage. yea. quite boring, frustrating, and oh yea, that's why i just retired. staring at the screen waiting for the innevitable block or deflect by someone with half the stats.
ps...build copying....I always did my best to tweak a copied build before using. Except the last week. i have been Copying IM UR OWNERS builds until he went cyber. but i asked permission first. :P
also...Go OWNER GO!! TAKE THAT TROPHY BRO!! 1 week left, you can do it!!!!

The Game -> RE: LazyDuel (3/2/2013 3:39:56)

I have no qualms with highlighting issues with the game and presenting viable solutions through ED Balance and ED Suggestions. If done correctly, there are also viable ways in which such topics can be discussed in ED GD. What is not acceptable is blatant complaining for no greater purpose but to draw attention to oneself. It is clear that the intent of this threat is not to address any issues with the game but rather to mock the effort that has been invested into it and to belittle the hard-working staff that contribute to this endeavor. While neither staff nor the game as a whole are perfect, both should be treated with more courtesy than this thread has given. This is not a request; this is what will happen. End of discussion.
