Exploding Penguin -> Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 11:24:03)

I've noticed that the 100th place ranking is slowly decreasing in their point gain rate... I went to sleep for 9 hours one night and when I came back they had gained around 600 points. Now, I went to sleep on friday night (weekend night, meaning probably more activity), and there's only 200 points gained. From what I'm seeing, all of those people who aren't particularly close to the top 100 (they're around 500 points or more below 100th) are starting to have a give-up mentality, and thus there's a humongous struggle in places 90-100, not many new players entering the top 100, and the current 1-89th people are pretty much set for the rest of the tourney. From my information I've gathered, I'm assuming this is based off of the fact that the tourney is too long and it's pretty much decided that 80% of the players on the top 100 are staying. Thus, I feel future tournaments should be much shorter. Has anyone else noticed interesting things in the GYT and have their own opinions on it?

Vagaran -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 12:03:59)

Interesting thing: being 20th everytime, goto sleep for 5 hours, only being moved back to Number 22 with around 50 points behind the one on 21st. I'm beginning to think people who are in the top 50 are begining to take it slowly [&:]

Mother1 -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 12:20:18)

I noticed this since last weekend. At first I lost a lot of places last weekend, but now I barely lose a space. if I was to stop now it would take 2-3 days before I am near getting booted off the list. Personally as stated before this was in favor of more hardcore players then casual ones.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 12:22:57)

At this point, if you aren't in the top 100, odds are you won't get in
Everyone has accepted that, and moved on

Fortitudo -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 14:21:40)

I'm just waiting for Sr.Renato to jump to first. The fight will be close!

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 15:04:26)

I've been floating between 66th and 55th for about a week now. Highest I ever got was 47th, not counting the first night of the tourney when I was 13th.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 15:32:40)

Fortitudo
If it depends on owner, that wont happen.
Hes going fully for 1st place to

Sr.Renato is a old dude with no job, he doesnt deserve it.

But yes, if you aint on it now, you wont be on it anymore i think

For myself, 1st day i was 14.
2nd day 30
3rd day 60
4rd day 80
5th day 98
6th day back too 50
7th day 70
Today 57 and increasing
tomorrow probably around 35-45

sylar67 -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 15:37:19)

it's funny cause that shows the number of people who got the omega ticket , if they made the ticket after omega launched and varium became useless im pretty sure you wont see 100 people on the board , and with that i can see in the near future if any new similar tourney will start, there won't be 100 people to compete who will buy varium for the level of uselessness it has came to .

ThePriest -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 15:46:43)

It all depends on what the core yeti has.
They said it would be like a normal yeti.
So it can steal weapons. But what harm does psy or energy?
Of course I'm hoping for a surprise that the Yeti is more unique than just gold.

nico0las -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 16:07:59)

Two weeks is longer than it seems, eh?
That's all I have to say.

Fortitudo -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 16:49:57)

Way to discriminate Blitz.

Mother1 -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 17:16:20)

Put it to you this way.

1 If you didn't start by now then it is already too late for you to be in the top 100.
2 If you are in the top 100 hustle as much as you can this weekend since this is the time when the masses are most active.
3 if you have free days during the week and you are on the list use them
4 if you miss a few hours and you are on a decent spot on the list don't worry too much because it is easier to gain ground then it is to lose it.

As for me 1000 points min is what I do. From me watching the LB every 1000 points you gain that is near the top or close to the top LB has 2 days before it hits place 100 from what I have been seeing. Weekends are sometimes the exception to this.

Made 4 Sunny Days -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 18:34:52)

I don't think it's too late to climb into the leaderboards, I played hard last weekend, none during the week until friday where I was at 3.5k points, I have climbed to within 500 points of 100th place now soo....
If you're just starting off then you would have to be playing really hardcore to climb in, but if your sitting at around 4k right now, I don't think it's to much a stretch to climb into the top 100.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:35:04)

Yea, this is why the tournament should be stopped sooner. Literally 90% of the winners are already decided, so what's the point of extending the tournament past 1 week?

Mother1 -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:38:13)

@ exploding

If 90% are displayed there is still a chance that the other 10% might change. But on another note while I am playing I am actually listening to the final countdown.

Dimentic -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:51:11)

^ They want to torment the players... :3 I've hardly ever slept this week..:3

Baron Dante -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:52:35)

No, it shouldn't be changed. Some people actually have planned their progression over the 2 weeks, and as such might not be where they intend to be.

On which note, the Tourney is more of an endurance run than anything else. I predicted slowing down would happen because people can't handle the amount of playing for varying reasons.

Mother1 -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:53:06)

If you got a good spot on the LB you need not do that. I went hard during the beginning and got myself a good spot. For me at worst I lose 4-5 spots if even that. The weekend is the most active but during the week it is a casual players dream.

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:53:39)

I'd say far from decided. How many players in the top 20 are going to get exhausted and slip and allow people below them to move up?

The tournament will honor those most obsessively dedicated to the game. That's not for everyone. If you consider the competition torture, feel free to stop. :P

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:54:43)

@ Fortitudo

Nope, i only judge someone on its current situation, not on his race/size.
I find that this game is more for the younger people, and then when there is a tournament and an old guy wins because he basically has nothing to do for the upcoming 2 weeks, then you dont deserve it for me.

This is not discriminating or implieng that he has no-life.
He could have gotten 2 weeks off, you never know. But in my opinion, he doesnt deserve it

Giras Wolfe -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/2/2013 23:57:24)

So you're saying people with too much free time are successful at video games? No way! That's crazy. But isn't that true of any leaderboard in this game?

Baron Dante -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/3/2013 0:05:25)

Blitz: But you are making a difference between "an old man" and "not old man". I doubt Renato has too much going on either.

Just because a game may be aimed for younger players in no makes you ineligible to be playing it.

Uhh what?
Where did you get that from?

I dont say he isnt ineligible, i say he doesnt deserve 1st

Made 4 Sunny Days -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/3/2013 0:16:55)

And Im about to break into the top 100.
Being a full time college student with an everyday job as well who had midterms this week of all weeks.
I have found time to study, go to work, and not interrupt my normal social life hanging out with friends everyday too.
Along with that, I go surfing every other day. I have a chance to place in the tournament so to sit here and say only people who obsessively play this game can win in the tourney seems a little unfair.
When I have my golden yeti, I will be proud to say that I won it without interrupting my life to do so.
The tourney is definitely slowing down though, any shake-ups will probably only happen down in the lower half.

Baron Dante -> RE: Have you noticed differences over time in the GYT? (3/3/2013 0:42:45)

Blitz: And there is no reason why that would be as it is. Nothing makes him any less deserving for it.
