G4m3r -> Interesting Thing (3/2/2013 12:52:41)

When I went to Portal Battleon and when I put the mouse in the ED button it shows that link: http://epicduel.artix.com/?referer=ED_Artix
And when the page loads it switches to this link: http://epicduel.artix.com/?skin=ED_ARTIX

Now try do that thing with your character name! I did with mine and it worked, just change ED_Artix to your character in the first link.

Along with that, anyone knows what for is that thing?

Probably different phases of code overlapping

I think that link shows up, because you accessed the ED website from the Portal Website.

These could serve many functions as they're likely PHP variables("referer" and "skin"). I'm guessing they're simply being used to track where the traffic is coming from(referer) and display a relevant theme(skin). It's nothing important for the average player to be concerned about, but you do have sharp eyes. ^_^

"?skin=" is an URL parameter (php ?) to embed different skins. When you know the name of a skin
file it should be possible to see another skin. When you enter a name that doesnt exist as a file the
standard skin will be loaded. It looks like the ED_Artix skin no longer exist on the server.

The base language of the site is XHTML 1.0 and includes CSS (layout) and Java scripts (with flash content).

Just for fun: If you want to see the Omega banner in full screen:

^ Yes. PHP variables are often used in URL parameters. Of course, you may never know for sure since the scripts don't display on the client side.

@drekon

Aren't PHP variables those things you can mess around with and change in a link?
