Oba -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/9/2013 19:21:37)

AAAAAHHHHHA! Alydriah was allied with Legion! I was looking through the old Frysteland mission from last year, and a mission we did before Commander Edgar Boothe decided to go Exile, Alydriah says this;
"I need you to deliver these plans to the
commander at this outpost, Edgar Boothe.
Commander Boothe is one of my... most trusted
allies.
"

At this time, Edgar was Legion -> Alydriah was allied with Edgar -> Alydriah is allied with Legion.

midnight assassin -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/9/2013 19:57:57)

You guys forgot the heart breaker saga. It shows why legion and exile united together to overthrow Alydriah but it failed so badly.

drinde -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/9/2013 20:59:42)

I think something you guys may have overlooked is that while Exile and Legion are the major alignments, within these two, there are smaller, split groups, hence the existence of factions in game. Different factions may fight for either cause, but each will have their own motivation to do so, and may have different thoughts about the alignment's ideals and structure, so while Admin 12 may want to get rid of Alydriah, he wasn't the whole of the Legionnaires, merely the leader of a Legion-based faction.

One thing that didn't make sense:

Boothe summoned the Endless, we got to kill the Elite Yeti. After that, he stated he could not do the ritual again. If Alydriah was so evil, why would she keep to her word? Wouldn't simply crushing the Krampus rebellion by killing the Hag and Alaric topple any resistance left? Why let them live?

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 3:09:40)

I think the storyline is awesome, but the main problem it has is how to give storyline rewards to Legion when it does win in a storyline turning point. Thankfully, at this point it looks like Legion has fully recognised that Alydriah is an insane, cruel traitor and any storyline rewards it gains in the future will likely both destabilise Alydriah and further strengthen Legion rule. The story-wise brilliant but nevertheless unfair nature of the first Frysteland war will never need be repeated again.

Furthermore, since the fragmentation in Exile ranks is not yet recognised by in-game NPCs (unlike the clear Legion divide), Exile will probably have their own version of the first Frysteland war (in terms of storyline rewards upon winning) sometime in the future.

Well they won the infernal war , and they captured our, well I guess he was our war leader in this war, Silas Auer. So now we have killed one of our own leaders, and we let the other one get captured by The Lawman. As far I'm concern they didnt lose half of their NPC allies in the game when they won..

Baron Dante -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 8:38:53)

You know, I have a certain issue with the story as well. I'm hardly an adept person to complain about issues within the story unless we are talking about contradictions within the story (Which takes effort, generally. I don't do well in making effort). However, most storylines of the game goes rare. While it's supposed to sort of leave this feel of the world "living", it also means new players will be missing critical plot points because they were made rare. If I were to decide, no mainstory characters/events/mission would go rare. The drops and such within them could go rare, but not them itself.

redclaw -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 11:12:21)

does anyone know who the the exile leader is and wht kind of role he plays in the plot cause i have never seen or heard of him \in anything tht has happened so far......

IsaiahtheMage -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 14:16:06)

I pretty much fully agree.

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 14:33:25)

the story line is pretty good in my eyes.

Descral has us take up Boothe's eyes after he doesn't kill the king*. Boothe summons The Endless to kill Descral's person guard yeti.

An eye for an eye or in this case an eye for a yeti

We didn't really take his eyes that is just the cheevo we got from the mission well I hope we didn't take his eyes

Wootz -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 20:37:25)

Unfortunatly, I do fancy a good storyline, so I was dissapointed.
Basicly to me,
last year, blow crap up
this year, exile and legion help each other againts a tyrant, with help of an enemy to both sides. Just dandy. I only wish I could truly express myself, but oh well.

Lets just hope for better future storylines.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 20:51:24)

Yeah its kinda of funny having the new Endless Guardian achievement and the Frysteland war general achievement at the same time. The first of which I earned by bombing and dueling the krampus to their inevitable defeat. Oh! Also don't forget sticking their heads on spikes all over their village after killing them, because we showed no mercy! And now I have this achievement that I am forever welcome in Frysteland after being one of the Legion Generals that tore through this land a year ago.[8D]

Seems legit.

Santa ClawZz -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/10/2013 21:07:45)

I don't understand what the fuss is all about. The storyline is great and there is no doubt about it.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/11/2013 10:23:48)

With all these cheevos being given out in missions maybe legion players should get a cheevo called Krampitarian. Ya know for that botched genocide against the Krampus last year in frysteland. They can put it right next to my Krampus Slayer cheevo![;)]

Also, we cannot forget those exile scum of course! And keeping with the idea of giving achievements to the wrong alignment for the wrong reasons, shouldn't they get a PETY cheevo(People for the Ethical Treatment of Yetis) for all the yeti's slayings they did last year.[8D]

gangster a -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/11/2013 10:30:49)

- Jealousy
- Favouritism
take your pick not every storyline is great most tend to be one sided i mean for example first exile are winning and then legion come out from nowhere and win and vice versa doesnt make any sense does it?

Calogero -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/11/2013 10:33:36)

quote:

You've done it! But what a price I have paid --
not only am I betraying Alydriah, my Lady, but
this is the last time in my life I will be able to
summon the Endless.

Makes no freaking sense

midnight assassin -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/11/2013 10:35:34)

As long as legion controls frysteland (- Alydriah) and rebellion against Lawman, the story will be good for me.

Oba -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/11/2013 11:39:14)

^But if we help the exile allies in frysteland, the krampus, do legion really controll frysteland? The story makes no sense.
We first kill them with all we have and then we must help the orphans to survive. This is what Im questioning..

One Winged Angel1357 -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/11/2013 17:02:59)

Calogero it actually makes perfect sense

This is from Betrayal in My Veins from the end of the Frysteland War
quote:

That fool, Boothe! Who does he think he is? I
sent him to dispatch the King Krampus and that
worthless old fool, but I've heard rumors that
they still breathe. He doesn't have a straight
answer for me- it appears my normal method of
controlling Boothe's affections is ineffective.
Maybe he'll respond to a beating.

It is revenge and after Fortune City defected from Alydriah it doesn't surprise me to see Frysteland defecting from Alydriah yet still being the Legion forces that mean to keep Frysteland under their control. Plus Boothe, who is the head of the Legion Forces in Frysteland under Alydriah, is a Krumpus himself and it weighs hard on ones mind to enslave ones's own people. So poor leadership selection by one Alydriah Descral

Unknown Menace -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/11/2013 19:07:38)

Some things don't make sense anyway. That's just how it is, i mean beating up the chairman first and than buying him some health boosters/packs doesn't make sense at all. Yet we did for one of his missions. Face it.

Lord Loss... -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/12/2013 13:28:51)

^ No, we are not supposed to face it. If they give a game some storyline then it should be good and it should make sense.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Problems with the storyline (3/12/2013 13:57:17)

I don't care if the story is lame or hard to follow, but at least make it be logical. This is like if Hitler lived after WW2 and went to Israel a few year years later and they gave him medal for what he did to their people.

Nothing should ever be enough to convince the Krampus that legion players are loyal to them. If anything they should be highly reluctant to work with us after we decimated their land and people for our own evil purposes.
