I was thinking than an IRC room for each game or chatbox would be really nice as I could socialize with other players without necessarily having to sign in.

There already exists a few IRC channels set up for game discussion and non-game discussion.

Technically, you don't actually have to register an account with Caelestia to access the IRC Channels (except for the official ones, #battleon and #yulgarsinn). You could simply use your current alias and use the name for the session (assuming the alias isn't registered with anyone). Arguably, you'd be able to access a wide variety of channels without needing to access these 2 if you don't feel comfortable registering. Not too familiar with other channels set for most AE games, but I'm aware there are numerous channels set up for them that are easily accessible.

As for the OP, since you seem to be an avid ED player, this would be a link to directly access our chatrooms, accessible from the Wiki easily if forgotten.
