armvis -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 22:29:49)

here's mine.

the rose slashes a ley line, causing a sepulcher-shatters-NSoD-causing-the-biggest-explosion-the-citizens-of-lore-have-ever-seen-scale-explosion and blasting several towns into the void and ripping holes through multiple dimensions including that of the deadly penguin warriors, lead by their ArchLord, the penguinmancer(XD) armvis. they raid lore and create another, righteous faction(the tulip) going head to head with the rose and causing a massive two-sided war with the fate of lore in the balance(and creating two new classes, penguin warrior and penguinmancer). in the end, the tulip battles the rose to a standstill, and in the end, jaania, with all her troops defeated, finally casts a giant ice spell that freezes all the ley lines and effectively neutralizes all powerful magic on lore. it has a side effect- it transforms her into a second elemental avatar, resulting in a massive boss fight. when we win, all of her power shattered, she finally sees the light(as well as all the destruction the rose has created) and, with the last scrap of her power, casts a mass healing spell, healing the rifts between the dimensions and creating new ley lines. however, this has the cost of her mind, body and soul, and it all is dispersed to help the world rejuvenate. end of chapter three. howsat?

Real Sssssd11 -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 1:56:43)

So... ANY theory?! I can't beat Vere's, even in my wildest dreams... but like hell I'm giving up without a fight!

Xan. Where is he?! He was frozen with the hero and Warlic years ago. Warlic thawed, but we have yet to see Xan. I suppose you could assume that Xan was thawed long ago as well, but then why has he not revealed himself? Before this great freezing, Xan had decided to accept a truce with us. Furthermore, when he was still Alexander, he was not a bad guy, the fire-face problem was what sent him into crazy-town. Speaking of which, he was set ablaze by magic, and then frozen... by magic. Any thoughts that Xan's flame died whilst he was frozen? He said that he had tried everything to get rid of the fire affliction... but I doubt he'd have been crazy enough to perma-freeze himself knowing that he'd be the only one able to un-freeze him. But... then he'd just look normal. He could be ANYONE?! Obviously Xan can't reveal his true self, or word would eventually spread back to Jaania. And who, pray tell, has revealed to definitively been on our side, while we have absolutely no idea who they are? Many of you probably have already come to this decision while reading this... but maybe... maybe...
spoiler:

Maybe Xan... is Cliquefoil?!

Think about it. It makes sense. It would show why this seemingly random guy is helping us, it would tell where Xan has been and it leaves enough loopholes to be called "just a crazy theory..." that some random crackpot-theorist yelling it in the middle of Falconreach came up with.

spoiler:

And the best part is, you can keep joking with it. When we discover who Cliquefoil really is, or where Xan's been hiding, their dialogue doesn't even need to change. They're crazy! Are you really gonna try to tell them they're wrong?! That's a waste of time! And at one point, Xan and Cliquefoil could even be in the same room as them, at the same time and they'll just say something stupid and funny like "I'm seeing double, man... O_O"

And in another forum post I just posted this, because I was in a "IT'S A CONSPIRACY, MAN!" -type of feeling. Decided it deserves to be posted here too. Was thinking about the latest quest and decided to think in the opposite of everyone else and demand that dem feels in the beginning were genuine. So I ask you. What if Sek-Duat was truly regretful of his past?! *NOTE: if you haven't done the latest quest yet, the below spoiler will make absolutely no sense what-so-frickin'-ever. Hence, the spoiler tag.

spoiler:

I'm gonna fight the main thoughts here that tell me to slaughter Zhoom's captor where he stands. What if Sek Duat is doing something really good?! Yes, he has Zhoom imprisoned, yes he tricked us into giving him... whatever was in that crystal, but what if he was being truthful that the Rose would kill Zhoom immediately. If Zhoom really is Sek's relative, then what if Sek's trying to protect Zhoom? Keeping him prisoner is stopping him from wandering around and being captured and/or killed by Rose members. What if Sek's trying to keep the hierarchy of the sand elves in power? That he has decided Zhoom will be the next King/Pharaoh. He has done terrible, terrible things, maybe he actually does have regret for his past? What if that crystal gave him enough power to keep him alive so that he can live long enough to pass on his life to Zhoom? Make Zhoom into a Lich, and give Zhoom immortality? Is it so hard to believe that him tricking us wasn't necessarily a bad thing? And he'll say something on his last words like "Finally, it is done." And he spouts that his entire plan has been to give Zhoom some amazingly overkill-level power or whatever. That he had been practicing how to do it on the other sand elves, and it had made them undead beings by accident and that he hadn't perfected it by the time he had to try it on himself. Or that his daughter (I'm assuming the girl in his past vision was his daughter) was the real target and when it failed, he had to turn his sights to Zhoom, to keep the legacy of the Sand Elves in tact. But now that he's perfected it, he can finish his plans to turn Zhoom into a Lich (without that nasty side effect that Sek is currently dealing with). And then he fights us because the spell calls that he must be defeated in a specific way or by a specific person, or that it is supposed to happen at a certain time so that he can keep Zhoom alive. And in the end, Sek-Duat decays into dust and Zhoom emerges as an all-powerful Pharaoh-being thing. *Tear rolls down his cheek* "Goodbye. Father. Thank you."

Frost Moglin -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 3:09:59)

Mayby Cin is actually... Konnan?
Mayby Alexander's skull didn't burn, mayby it was a teleport spell that swiched his place with a random person?(With a flaming skull)

Silver -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 4:11:48)

^No, that is not it. Xan felt the burning. He could still feel himself engulfed in flames, no matter whether the fire healed him or not. Clearly, if it was teleportation, then he would feel nothing.

or.... what if everything that's happening in book 3 is actually a dream the hero has while being in his/her frozen state :O DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUN

@San Robin: Did you base that off Mass Effect 3's ending theory?

What if Nythera has taken the Rose's attack on the Creatioux personal and the destruction we witnessed at Warlic's tent was an outburst of her anger and rage toward the Rose?

Myra -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 8:29:07)

I have another very popular one: Some famous dead person is actually still alive! Like The King for example! That one would not work for Alteon, because in DFs timeline he is actually alive, so I guess the next best thing would be his predecessor. SLUGWRATH IS STILL ALIVE! People have seen him walk around in random locations! I mean it has nothing to do with anything currently going on in book 3, but still ... I'd like to have a theme of "classic" conspiracy theories [:D]

UnderSoul -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 10:17:00)

The Rose are actually being manipulated by Kathool. Embarassed by his defeat at the hands of the Hero, Kathool's rage gave him the power to wake and control the Rose into destroying magical creatures and items, knowing the Hero would be a target. He's been planning this for a long time, he split Warlic and unfroze Jaania, using illusions to cover up his deeds. He messed with Jaania's emotions and turned her against magic. Kathool will come, and when he does, you cannot resist.

Galez -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 10:41:04)

i got another one, maybe Akanthus is the hero's father DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN

San Robin -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 13:14:20)

@Dwelling, I never played that game so... no :p

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 13:23:08)

@San Robin: Neither did I.

The dwarves are clearly plotting to overthrow the Rose from below their feet and they'll have their headquarters sink into the earth to where they belong. The sewers.

Smog -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 19:33:08)

Here's a crazy one. That warlic planned this all from the moment he meet alex and jannial. He planned that jannia would be frozen and that she would come out hating magic and found the rose to get rid of all that might mages stand in his way of taking over the world. I mean all he had to do was make a young mage hate him then turn him into a crazy pyromancer out for revenge so that xan would train konnan so that when he was wargoth jannia would be woken up at just the right time that she would really hate magic and would be able to help him get himself together in time to get hero frozen so that that the rose would rise at with out our us stoping them then once the rose win no one has magic but him, jannia and a few weak rose workers and he has already proved that he could more then take them on.

AlkaNephrite -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/7/2013 4:54:44)

Hmmm...

What if Kathool only made us think we won against him when in fact, he's still in our minds and overseeing the Hero's every thought... and the Hero doesn't know because he/she can't hear the whispers anymore...which means that Kathool has truly taken control and the Hero doesn't even know it. Every story set after the Water Orb saga was influenced by Kathool, who made the outcomes worse without anyone realizing it. When the Hero was frozen by Jaania, his hold over the Hero grew much stronger and when the time comes, he'll take full control of the Hero and bring down everyone, the Rose and magic-users alike. And the Hero can do nothing but watch as Kathool takes down everything the Hero fought so hard to protect.

After all, you cannot resist.

Game over.

Azan -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/7/2013 14:44:43)

In the end we shall fight Akanthus and discover that behind his helmet is ARTIX, because he want to destroy all dark magic. I would love that.

Legendium -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/7/2013 15:06:18)

All sneevils are actually highly intelligent people, whose intellectual prowess dwarfs even that of the gnomes.

We find out in game that Lore would not have existed without one single word: Groovy. (Check Artix.com for reference)

We find out that the Vaal we think is Vaal is a fraud. The real Vaal was transformed into a Sneevmole. Ptolmey the Sneevmole, to be exact.

As it turns out, Jaania is our father's mother's brother's cousin's uncle's sister's second aunt's cousin's father's room-mate from college's sister's stepfather's dog sitter's brother's cousin twice removed.

Can't think of much else.....

Joerte -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/8/2013 11:37:11)

Here is a conspiracy. The Rose members are actually one big group of aliens. They have come to Earth to eradicate magic as they have done with every other planet. They wish to do this so only they will have any magical ability. He is... the sneevil that Robina captured in chapter one. He is also a child like the other sneevils. Though he is the child of Wargoth, so he is Warlic's half-brother. He is how the Rose plan to take down forces like Warlic and Cysero. He only pretended to be captured by Robina so we all would think he was just a regular sneevil.

walker of the rift -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/8/2013 13:39:27)

I think we fight Sek but he just keep getting up then zhoom will realise that he must die the last of his kin to truly kill Suk we will have to defeat zhoom then kill Sek. Sek's body will glow getting brighter and brighter the blinding light will spread through sandsea and every one Sek sacrificed will be a live again including Zhoom. Sek will also be effected and transform in to his original self before he was a linch, he will have a second chance and zhoom will lead the new sand elf army against the rose when the time comes. In the mien time zhoom will teach us the ways of the new ranger class.

megakyle777 -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/8/2013 15:36:50)

Joerie: So... what you are saying is that The Sneevils are aliens?

...OF COURSE! It all makes sense now! (Goes off to radicly alter conspiracy notes)

That theory is so insane that it might actually be possible o_O It would be a surprising twist if this is actually TRUE!

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/8/2013 16:07:17)

If milk and eggs are mostly produced by chickencows and chickencows are magical creatures, does that make those products magical in nature and thus contraband? Since if that was the case cheese and yoghurt would be be magical in nature and thus illegal.

Victoria has gotten the secret identity-act from her father. Since King Alteon doesn't get much screen-time he mostly works in a smithy under the name "Yulgar" where he can bond more easily with his daughter's other side. When he leaves for "urgent" business he is actually crafting weapons to equip his army with and he uses his profits to fill the treasury. (I mean, have you ever seen the two in the same place at the same time?)

Meanwhile his youngest daughter is fed up with the army of ponies she was given for her birthdays and plans to invade Falconreach so she can force all the heroes to join her neverending teaparty. Rumour has it that she has already made an alliance with the mistress of the Necropolis, Sally, to achieve this goal. It is said that the dresscode for this party will be pink and failing to stick to that rule will result in undeath.

Warmonger Starsaber -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/8/2013 17:03:35)

Dwelling is that how Noxus turned Pink ? 0.o.

Grixus Faldor -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/8/2013 18:29:22)

.Joerte: That would be possible, were it not for the fact that Wargoth was an aspect of Warlic's personality and not an individual being himself. Think of it as what happened with Falerin's disincorporation in AdventureQuest, same thing here. Except for the fact that Warlic isn't a deity, but a lesser power.

I'd say wanting to rid the world of magic is only a facade, when it is actually a part of the larger scheme of things. The Rose want to abolish the use of Magic so that they can reinforce their power and eventually gain a hold over Lore entire. If people are able to use Magic against them, they will surely perish, but if you refuse to allow the common man use of magic, you possess an advantage.

Chaosweaver Amon -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/8/2013 18:37:03)

What if...*inhales deeply*

Us being free wasn't real, but the plot behind the Rose was and we are in captivity and they are torturing our minds to get information from us?

OR

We weren't ACTUALLY frozen the whole time, we broke out earlier, STARTED the Rose with Jania, then re-froze ourselves with a memory wipe of some sort.

BUT

The only reason we did that was because Jaania mad eus think of that.

AND POSSIBLY

This is all one of Twig's dreams after he's intoxicated from Fish and Ice Cweam....

The first step towards Despotism is to strip others of power that they could use towards evil ends, because you feel that you yourself are the only one who can use it responsibly.

This theory really close to one of the main arcs of the Sword of Truth series.

Got a few more theories of my own:
1. What if our character knows that they are just characters in a game and just goes along with it?

2. What if Jaania is not actually in control of the Rose but the general guy did a coup and is in charge of the Rose?

3. What if Cin is actually a clone of the Hero?
