Real Sssssd11 -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/6/2013 1:56:43)

So... ANY theory?! I can't beat Vere's, even in my wildest dreams... but like hell I'm giving up without a fight! Xan. Where is he?! He was frozen with the hero and Warlic years ago. Warlic thawed, but we have yet to see Xan. I suppose you could assume that Xan was thawed long ago as well, but then why has he not revealed himself? Before this great freezing, Xan had decided to accept a truce with us. Furthermore, when he was still Alexander, he was not a bad guy, the fire-face problem was what sent him into crazy-town. Speaking of which, he was set ablaze by magic, and then frozen... by magic. Any thoughts that Xan's flame died whilst he was frozen? He said that he had tried everything to get rid of the fire affliction... but I doubt he'd have been crazy enough to perma-freeze himself knowing that he'd be the only one able to un-freeze him. But... then he'd just look normal. He could be ANYONE?! Obviously Xan can't reveal his true self, or word would eventually spread back to Jaania. And who, pray tell, has revealed to definitively been on our side, while we have absolutely no idea who they are? Many of you probably have already come to this decision while reading this... but maybe... maybe... spoiler:
Maybe Xan... is Cliquefoil?! Think about it. It makes sense. It would show why this seemingly random guy is helping us, it would tell where Xan has been and it leaves enough loopholes to be called "just a crazy theory..." that some random crackpot-theorist yelling it in the middle of Falconreach came up with. spoiler:
And the best part is, you can keep joking with it. When we discover who Cliquefoil really is, or where Xan's been hiding, their dialogue doesn't even need to change. They're crazy! Are you really gonna try to tell them they're wrong?! That's a waste of time! And at one point, Xan and Cliquefoil could even be in the same room as them, at the same time and they'll just say something stupid and funny like "I'm seeing double, man... O_O" And in another forum post I just posted this, because I was in a "IT'S A CONSPIRACY, MAN!" -type of feeling. Decided it deserves to be posted here too. Was thinking about the latest quest and decided to think in the opposite of everyone else and demand that dem feels in the beginning were genuine. So I ask you. What if Sek-Duat was truly regretful of his past?! *NOTE: if you haven't done the latest quest yet, the below spoiler will make absolutely no sense what-so-frickin'-ever. Hence, the spoiler tag. spoiler:
I'm gonna fight the main thoughts here that tell me to slaughter Zhoom's captor where he stands. What if Sek Duat is doing something really good?! Yes, he has Zhoom imprisoned, yes he tricked us into giving him... whatever was in that crystal, but what if he was being truthful that the Rose would kill Zhoom immediately. If Zhoom really is Sek's relative, then what if Sek's trying to protect Zhoom? Keeping him prisoner is stopping him from wandering around and being captured and/or killed by Rose members. What if Sek's trying to keep the hierarchy of the sand elves in power? That he has decided Zhoom will be the next King/Pharaoh. He has done terrible, terrible things, maybe he actually does have regret for his past? What if that crystal gave him enough power to keep him alive so that he can live long enough to pass on his life to Zhoom? Make Zhoom into a Lich, and give Zhoom immortality? Is it so hard to believe that him tricking us wasn't necessarily a bad thing? And he'll say something on his last words like "Finally, it is done." And he spouts that his entire plan has been to give Zhoom some amazingly overkill-level power or whatever. That he had been practicing how to do it on the other sand elves, and it had made them undead beings by accident and that he hadn't perfected it by the time he had to try it on himself. Or that his daughter (I'm assuming the girl in his past vision was his daughter) was the real target and when it failed, he had to turn his sights to Zhoom, to keep the legacy of the Sand Elves in tact. But now that he's perfected it, he can finish his plans to turn Zhoom into a Lich (without that nasty side effect that Sek is currently dealing with). And then he fights us because the spell calls that he must be defeated in a specific way or by a specific person, or that it is supposed to happen at a certain time so that he can keep Zhoom alive. And in the end, Sek-Duat decays into dust and Zhoom emerges as an all-powerful Pharaoh-being thing. *Tear rolls down his cheek* "Goodbye. Father. Thank you."
