Sipping Cider -> Stat Shuffling and End of focus v2- secondary weapons (4/5/2013 23:39:06)

I was thinking of more ways to end focus while still give incentive to spreading out stats and came up with this idea. This is so different from the current system that I had to put this as a suggestion rather than in the balance thread. Here goes:

Strength
-Improves primary damage
-Improves rage gain
-Affects stun chances

Dexterity
-Improves defense
-Affects block chances
-Affects who goes first

Technology
-Improves resistance
-Sets maximum total secondary weapon damage*

Support
-Improves secondary weapon damage (robots, sidearms, auxiliaries. Robots now have base damage equal to your level instead of relying on focus)
-Improves crit chances
-Affects deflection chances

*This is the maximum sum of secondary weapon damage you can use. Example: If every 1 point of technology were to raise this maximum damage by 4 and your technology were 50 this number would be 200. This means if your support damage bonus was 15 and you had a sidearm that did 35 base damage, you could use it (total secondary damage=50<200). If you also had an auxiliary that did 40 base damage you could use it (total secondary damage=105<200). If you had a robot that did 35 base damage you could use it (total secondary damage=155<200). However,if you wanted to use one more robot (yes, I am also suggestion multiple robots being equipped at once) that also had 35 base damage, you could not use it (total secondary damage=205>200).

This would open many cool avenues, such as multiple sidearms being equipped or multiple auxiliaries.

Not supported.

This is not only completely destroying focus for those who actually like it but it is forcing them to use builds they may not like. Not to mention this is nerfing tech into the ground while overpowering Dex and support.

This IMO isn't helping balance but destroying one thing to force people to use what you think they should use as well as transferring the OP problem to something else.

What if Technology would improve deflection chances instead of support? Also, i have not even put in how much chances and numbers are affected yet. Is there no combination with this setup that you think could bring balance?

P.S. What does IMO mean? I have never learned that one [&o]

That mean In My opinion.

Also if you look at the skills trees of each class the way you set up things will OP several classes while nerfing other usable builds into the ground.

Look at support and TM for example.

If it were to do this then a support TM would a super strong aux, a super strong sidearm with deadly aim powering it up, not to mention a super strong robot. Not to mention all the other moves that improve with support such as malfuction, and defense matrix. All I would need to do is Malf, Energy side arm, Energy aux, energy robot. All extremely powerful. All I would need is high health and and high support.

This is just one example I can think of. There are many other OP examples I can think off with these.

@Mother1

Keeping the max total weapon damage improving with technology the same and no focus, what would you have the other stats do to make it balanced? Or is there no balance with those conditions?
