Tech Mage is pretty much the weakest class.


Ever tried 5 focus? TM loses out to EVERY build out there.

Caster? Loses 5/10 times.


Those are the only 2 viable builds and they are UNDERPOWERED.

Tech Mage needs a huge buff.

My idea, bring FM to a 3 turn cool down for TM.

Make deadly aim scale so on Lv35 weapon, it gives +10 at lv10, +9 at lv9 etc.

You people got any ideas?

as a sword focus tlm, tech mage is the class i have the most trouble with.
especially casters.

this is because they have mid lvl assimilation, mid lvl plasma bolt, and mid lvl field medic.
they just rinse and repeat these.

take my energy and gain more for them, and rage huge attacks.
+ heal loop. now i mentioned i have a sword, so atom smasher isn't an option for me right now.

TLM can easily get energy back.

Reroute+generator.

STR+SUPP works but heavily reliant on luck, can't be counted as a viable build.

and they take it aswell.
since i have no energy drainer as a sword tlm, i cant drain theirs. so they have as much heal looping as me, and then extra for attacks like plasma bolt which usually only cost 21-25 energy.

an average match with a caster for me lasts 12+ rounds
they can put in 3 assimilation most of the time.

Well drainage is subjective to gear.

If you were using a club, then you would have no problem.

every build needs luck to win these days, no exceptions.

STR+SUPP needs excessive amounts of luck.

Most you would have is 35 ish dex and 25 ish tech.

You get blocked/deflected almost every time. BL classes have a field days with you while gaining ~15 hp a turn.

I play TM since omega started, even now, I find 5 focus good. My PB+high tech+5focus+IA wins versus most builds I find out there( 5 focus tlm + SS, massacre CH etc, TM). I only find BH a bit of a problem because blocking is unbalanced.

Wrong. The tech mage high tech + dex + plasma bolt + assimilate + reroute build is quite powerful and popular.

Caster TM is actually quite powerful and it can take down focus 5 builds. I have to agree with fortitudo on this one as well.

Nothing works consistently for me as a TM anymore and I've tried many, many things.

3 and 4 loss streaks are common, as is losing to lower levels, and it's a struggle to get more wins than losses, period.

Can't wait to finish the 300 kill mission and forget about ED until next content release.

As a TM before the slight assim nerf to 85% from 100%, I can say that the class is slightly underpowered compared to other classes, even normal merc. Caster is taken down way too easily be certain builds, but can fare well against a decent range of opponents. TLMs who spam atom smasher and rage frenzy are near unstoppable again caster TMs though, especially with a block core.
