@mother1
obviously if they brought them back, it wouldn't be unlimited.
but if they do, they need to add team npcs, and jugger npcs as well.
they could do like a juggernaut card type of thing but for the npcs.
(same like before, 15 hourly for solo, 5 hourly for team and jugger)

when they removed NPCs, they alienated a large part of the game.

plus, NPCs are harder now according to them. so why is it much of an issue? cant use the "they are too easy" excuse anymore.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 0:29:50)

Why not give the battle rewards but still not counting on battle record.
Then the NPCers can still battle them, only now not counting as a win.

Both happy, at least i would be since i dont care about NPCs but it would atleast stop some ppl from complaining about it.

then why is it a problem for it to count as a win?

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 1:33:08)

^ So the other side doesnt start complaining like youre doing now maybe?
It would only move the problem, not solve it.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 1:37:24)

@blitzex
its problem to people who care about what other people's %s are.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 2:03:48)

I think the majority of the complainers care more about NPCs being easy fast wins, then that it gives the players a % boost.
Personally i find NPC-ing a sign of weakness and foolish, since this is a Player Vs Player based game, not Player Vs Robot, if you want to go pve, go to aqw or something..

I dont care what other players % are since it doesnt make you win the battle.

Scyze -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 2:28:55)

OverSoul is a PvP based card game, but you can fight monsters. To how much I know, its not players.

Weakness? You sure? The top people on the leaderboard challenged NPCs. I saw comicalbiker, Matt 1000, koollo etc. challenging NPCs multiple times. Is it really weakness? Or is it that they just want the wins?
I'd get about 40 wins an hour. 15 were off those NPCs while the other 25 were from people.

Beating the monsters doesn't count to anything. It is the same as challenging players. So its the same like EpicDuel but just the opposite.

Blitzex/Sr. Zeph -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 2:42:25)

^ Since they go for the easy wins, yes its a sign of weakness.
Top ppl got that wins by:
1.Varium advantage before Omega
2.NPC-ing

Doesnt take up much skill to get their record when you got those 2..

Scyze -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 2:51:11)

Really? If people do the easy things its a sign of weakness?

So if someone like the President had an easier option to keep the people in their country happy, is that a sign of weakness? OR is it something wise?

Your "Varium advantage before Omega " is wrong. People without Varium managed to get past 50,000 wins. Just because they have a lot of wins doesn't mean they are challenging NPCs. They could be playing everyday and getting a high amount of wins.

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 2:53:04)

Well I do believe the varium advantage was huge.
P.S. Dayum this is a hot topic :X

Scyze -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 2:55:14)

Not, I'm bored of EpicDuel so I decided to do something else. Forums came to me and this was the most recent post that showed up.

kaiseryeux21 -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 3:19:14)

Just to refresh our memory, One of the purpose of Omega release is to attract "new players". This is what we are getting right now. Those level 20-25 players on the leaderboards might be one of those new players that the dev's are looking for. For argument's sake, it could be someone's alts. Still, it gives us something new. I am a beta player, currently ranked emperor with a quite decent win/loss record. I did battle npc's alot before omega release and im not ashamed of it. I would not say i am weak, and i cannot claim to be strong. I win some, i loose some. its part of the game. And so are NPC's. It was part of the game, either it counts towards the record or not. I have never won a daily 1 vs1 or 2 vs 2 even though i played this game for about 3 years now. Im not ashamed to admit it, coz i only played ED on a limited time but consistent. I know alot of cap players already won the leaderboard more than once (although it only rewarded you once). I guess its about time some new players win it. May it be low levels or higher levels. Let's give them some love.

First off, NPC-ing is for own sake, not others.
Second, this is a Player Vs Player based game, not PvE which makes NPCs sort of a seperate battle system and should have never been counted as a PvP win/lose, since they differ.

quote:

People without Varium managed to get past 50,000 wins. Just because they have a lot of wins doesn't mean they are challenging NPCs. They could be playing everyday and getting a high amount of wins.

Did i stated elsewhise?
I only said it are easy and fast wins, did i say that everyone who has much wins are NPC-ing?

quote:

Your "Varium advantage before Omega " is wrong.

Is it?
Then why was it such a problem that the devs wanted to get rid off it, because it wasnt an advantage?

For .. sake, you are smart enough to know that before Omega, varium users had a big advantage, which made them win from f2p consistently.

Scyze -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 4:28:00)

That quote of yours goes with this one:
quote:

Your "Varium advantage before Omega " is wrong. People without Varium managed to get past 50,000 wins.
The fact that you said:
quote:

Top ppl got that wins by:
1.Varium advantage before Omega
2.NPC-ing
Is the reason to why that going with the quote. If it wasn't, I would've started a new paragraph.
quote:

Its the same thing here as well, but I gave you an example. There are people with more than 50,000 wins who don't have Varium.

quote:

varium users had a big advantage...
Nope, you're wrong. They had a huge advantage! Still, they were caused problems by people without Varium. A 5 focus BM would out power a strength BH in most cases.

Lastly,
quote:

this is a Player Vs Player based game, not PvE...
Just because something is tagged as "Player vs Player" game doesn't mean it has to be 100% PvP based. If it was supposed to be 100(0000)% PvP based, shouldn't it have been started with only PvP battle modes? This sort of junk from players is expected complaining about the removal of the mode.

quote:

And having 50,000+ wins makes you a Top Player?
Amounts are based on time spent, not on skills if you ask me.
A top player is one with not only high wins, but also with less losses.

A bot can get 50,000+ wins, but with the same amount or more losses, which makes it a top player in your opinion?

quote:

If it was supposed to be 100(0000)% PvP based, shouldn't it have been started with only PvP battle modes?

Yes, in my opinion it should have.
It's a completely different mode, should have never counted to the PvP mode records.

well regarding this subject, if u invested in this game (like thousands of dollars) you are less likely to quit, than someone who hasn't spent a penny.

this is why most varium with 50k+ are mostly beta/early gamma players.

THIS. SO MUCH OF THIS. And it doesn't make you a Top Player. Sure you have lots of wins thus you may have experience of existing builds but it doesn't mean you are better than one with 5-10K, because they may know as much. Top Player may be defined by their wins, their loses, ratio and perhaps unique build or items that make him stand out the most.

RageSoul -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 8:06:52)

Saying one's the best is really based on one's view .

Not to be a mini-mod here but can everyone please stop with this "NPCs are the problem" issue ? They weren't really there for just wins . Remember , if you want to use Credits / BTs to but the but the latest gear and cheevos , but you prefer it faster , then you have to farm FAST . Easier ? And so what ? 15 Wins/Hour is available for everyone . Plus , having issues with luck ? Then they're the refuge of every unlucky player .

The real issue wasn't them AI but the fact that the Devs added a stupid feature , which is Brainwash .

Drianx -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 9:59:57)

Npc's just made players think they were good when of course they were really not.

But why not look on the bright side too?

- NPCing was the reason some people sticked to underpowered classes. Right now you are totally pushed to class change to the strong one.
- NPCing was the reason some people were still playing the game - not in a competitive manner of course, but still.
- NPCing was the way some people were keeping their position in a faction, by knowing exactly how much time they need for the daily win requirement.
- NPCing was a workaround for cooling down people upset on the balance and/or luck factors affecting gameplay balance.

Scyze -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 11:43:29)

Don't know where you got the last one from. :D

Since you could challenge 15 times, that gave me temptation to play every hour even if I wasn't going to do PvP battles. I'm sure this was also the same for most people.

Really? It was stupid?

friend18 -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 12:32:17)

It's easy to win at lower levels. All I do is smoke, attack, attack, massacre, and it's game over.

Same with tech mage. Bolt, attack, attack, bolt.

Sipping Cider -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 13:56:06)

What needs to be implemented are tournaments. Some way of choosing winners based off of performance compared to others.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 19:11:57)

@Cider

look how the yeti tourney turned out :P

Mother1 -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 19:14:41)

@ Noobernaut

I remember that. The masses just jumped to the most OP build to get as many wins for points as they could. Even though I placed in the tourney I still think it wasn't balanced.

drekon -> RE: Is This Turning Into A Low Level Game? (4/12/2013 20:05:16)

Yes, they get faster wins/losses, but they also have to take more breaks from actual combat to allocate points after leveling up, improving gear, and retraining. With the right class/build, top level players can keep up with them.
