Title says it all. It would fix balance.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 13:20:37)

encumberance to health? o.O

encumberance is what allowed lower lvls to equip higher lvl weapons.
how do u add that to health? O.o

edwardvulture -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 13:30:32)

I believe the term also applies to stats like how you need more and more strength for one more damage on primary/sidearms.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 13:40:24)

@edvard
you think you mean diminishing returns. right?

edwardvulture -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 14:03:16)

right you are goldslayer title changed.
Now let's actually discuss this.
If we had more life to invest in, strength wouldn't have been nerfed. Would you agree with that?

goldslayer1 -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 14:08:14)

Health should be larger.

if HP was higher, builds like str BH wouldn't be so effective against that kind of high hp.
because their damage output was made to take down about 140 hp or so. if it were higher, they would have a bit harder time.

same for focus builds since their HP would be limited.

also higher HP reduces effects of luck.

right now 1 crit most certainly cuts ur HP in half.
1 crit will not cut ur hp in half if ur HP was doubled or tripled.

and if u were blocked u would have more time for strategy and possible come back.

yes battles would be longer.
but what is the goal here
fast battles or balance?

Melbourne -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 14:55:54)

It's not delta, it's omega. They didn't spend all this time to go back on what they did. Face the truth :l

goldslayer1 -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 14:57:32)

@melbourne
even if delta was better?

Melbourne -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 15:07:00)

That's definitely opinionated.

Yes, and maybe Ed's diminishing thought would not be as devastating in the larger scheme of things (otherwise the diminishing would not even be noticeable).

Mother1 -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/19/2013 22:46:44)

Not supported. Agility was a terrible idea to begin with. Why should people be punished for using high health especially when you lose a lot more to obtain it?

edwardvulture -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/26/2013 2:34:43)

^I don't think you understand what I mean. It means that as you get more life, the increments decrease.

xyzman -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/26/2013 12:04:04)

Hey just a thought. If health is larger then shouldn't poison skills be altered too? It would become useless against high health, which most people will get if health is increased.
But overall, i support that health should be larger.

make poison skills into %s. i.e 15% of overall HP per turn. so at 100 hp, it deals 15 damage per turn for 3 turns. (example numbers)

Xendran -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/26/2013 12:46:32)

Poison is meant to be antitank, and HP is meant to be a buffer against poison, so that wouldn't really work well.
However, Viper strike SHOULD be a % of your weapon damage instead of a flat number (Maxing at 37%)

Midnightsoul -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/26/2013 18:46:23)

I support this.
This would mean that everything that diminishing which prevents HP abuse too.

Xendran -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/26/2013 18:59:48)

HP Abuse does not exist right now, because building into HP is not abusive.

In fact, high HP builds are some of the most balanced builds in the game right now, and provide the most entertaining battles.

Mother1 -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/26/2013 19:13:08)

@ xendran

Reason for them not being abused is because you leave yourself weak in just about every other area due to less stats.

Midnightsoul -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/26/2013 19:46:57)

Maybe it can go like:

0-51: Each point gives 3 hp
52-86: Each point gives 2 hp
87 and above: Each point gives 1 hp

Numbers are not exact and these numbers are from starting from level 1. The hp scaling should not effect the bonus HP that is given as you level up.

I also thought of that. however, like what Xendran has stated high health should be less vulnerable to poison. But on the other hand, just like in Delta, when almost all ppl get high health, poison became useless. I partly like the low health now as It opens a way for poison at high levels, it shuts the way for other creative high health build though XD.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/27/2013 11:53:38)

I fail to see what Omega accomplished in terms of stat / build freedom. I've been playing these last 4 days farming spore and what-not and I still see no one being unique. Every Merc I come across is the same, some support, the majority typical high tech build, typical high tech surgical strike abusing tact mercs that just heal. Quick kill tech mages ( though my current build owns these guys ) Ironically, the most unique class I've come across is blood mages.

Still being bashed for my high hp builds gets old, I thought by now people would be more opened to the idea, guess not. Which reminds me, why is everyone 5 focusing with the left over stats put into tech? Pfft.

I'd like to see health progression increased back to 2 points per just to see how it'd effect the game, and maybe lower the effectiveness of Field Medic, 60 hp, really? With 1 hp per that's alot of hp recovery.

edwardvulture -> RE: Bring stat progressions back to delta except add encumberance to health (4/27/2013 22:47:05)

I hate how every game is determined by luck this change would move the game back to skill
