Ranloth -> Poison Spores (4/20/2013 9:11:50)

Some people find it OP, some don't. Biased or not, it may hold some truth. Who knows. As we know, Poison can be cleansed if you Heal which is the reason why Toxic Grenade and Venom have received a mini buff. Then comes the new Bot. It goes off by Focus which is fine for a Bot, 60% of the damage goes to DoT over course of 4 turns (15% per turn) which with Focus 5 will give you 8-10 DpT for 4 turns, for the total of 32-40 damage. Just like ~max Venom/Toxic. There's a catch. One costs Energy and other is 'free'. But that's also fine because one is a class skill and other is a Bot. But one is reusable as long as you have EP and other is every 4 turns (or 3 if cleansed). EP is finite, Bots cannot be disabled. There's one simple nerf-buff that could be good for the Bot, before it gets out of hand and players start saying that Devs cannot release anything properly. *if the point isn't raised properly, nerf won't be proper either* How about we go for making the DoT once per battle but it cannot be cleansed by the likes of Heal. So once used, you're stuck with it until the end of the battle. It's still 32-40 damage dealt regardless of defences, so good on tanks and not so useful on glass cannons, although still holds some merit against those. How is it a nerf-buff? First of all, it cannot be cleansed so it'll deal full Poison damage over the course of 4 turns thus a buff. Nerf because it cannot be repeated. Why would this be one of the best solutions? If you nerf the % or change the way it works - i.e. just Focus on it's own - then it'll affect lower levels as well and render it useless until higher level. Whilst with this, you get full damage out of the Poison but only once per battle. It's still useful to have a Poison skill, especially if your class does not have it. Those who have Venom/Toxic can still find it useful, depends on their build, really. To summarise, Poison Spores would be: Useable once per battle. Cannot be cleansed. Simple as.
