@TheSaga It just a fear that is all. So far I been seeing OS Team learning from the mistakes of AQW. From Cosmitic items to Weapons. And let alone How they earn there money. It just a pet peeve of my about AQW. I do not wish for OS to follow the same path as AQW. When I can see OS is doing far better.

Card Custom Suggestion: Due to the fact we can only use 5 cards at a time. Could you not reward me more then 5 cards of the same type? AKA More then 5 Ice Walls. If I can't put on more then 5 Ice walls. Unless you guys plan on putting in Trading for OS? <---NOTE THIS IS BASED ON NOTHING! So It just a IDEA!

zion -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/5/2013 3:37:48)

The basic packs should cost more gold and the sg packs should have 1 automatic rare card.... If they want to make money.

Mondez -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/5/2013 3:58:42)

@zion
Nulgath is kind and he isn't all about money plus it creates balance SG players and free players so to increase prices when we wanted it to be reduced just to make money is a method I disagree on.

I buy a good amount of SGs each and every payday when I get a chance to.

GuardMouse -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/5/2013 15:56:31)

I wish they would keep the Original Values for the CC cards, not like 204 damage, and 101, and 515 Defense, just makes it unnecessarily complicated.

Shards Superior -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/5/2013 18:29:38)

Then what would be the point? :P
I quite like the extra numbers, actually.

Just one problem: Crush (Earth) outclasses Snow Orb by quite a margin.

Crush is free to activate; Snow Orb requires 5 Energy.
Both basically do the same thing, with Crush converting just 200 less. But that's not worth the 5 energy cost.

Beck -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/5/2013 21:05:32)

I have't played too much yet, but here's my review of initial CC:

Pros:
I actually like the limited 5 card customization setup, as opposed to fully customizable decks. Before, one of my biggest worries was that OS was gonna cheapen the uniqueness of the characters, where the noticable differences between the characters are their aesthetics. With this setup, the cards the characters come with are still vitally important. However, we are able to slightly buff previously weak characters still.
The fact that the 5 cards apply to every character equipped is a minor inconvenience, since it means I have to enter the menu to change cards before switching elements. Some sort of warning box would be nice.

Cons:
The odds for getting 5 star cards with Gold packs is rather harsh. I've spent over 400,000 Gold so far, which took me months to earn, and have not gotten every card in the series. I've also spent 60SGs on card packs, and for half of those, did not receive better cards than my Gold purchased ones.
I will definitely not be spending SGs on card packs in the future, since the odds are very discouraging.

Shards Superior -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/5/2013 21:46:49)

Dang... I got a 5-star card (525 ATK) on my first try... Only spend 30k in total...

necro rouge -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 7:29:59)

card customization needs to have a max limit of 5 cards of each type, it would suck to get more cards than you can use of one type

Leader -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 8:02:09)

@necro rouge, As much as I would like to see that happen, it defies the purpose of testing your luck in purchasing booster packets. When you purchase cards at the store, there isn't going to be a limit on the cards that you can get.

drDOT -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 8:05:46)

I'm with Leader on this one. If they had a cap at 5, there will be an exact amount of gold you need to have them all, which kinda destroys the feeling of a real card-game. I'd rather brag about my luck, too. :P
And just saying, I have 25 202 attack cards. :(

Desmodus -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 8:18:18)

It seems that the RNG is showing me favor in the card packs. That's about 6 SG packs; haven't bought any gold packs.

Hellsbane -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 13:37:55)

I like how it is done, but would rather have card layouts for different characters, rather than just the same for all of them.

Balu -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 14:05:02)

Thinking a bit more about CC and the fact that I would like to see the option added for us to also be able to take out cards from the creatures base deck, i will say that being able to fully do that might lead to balance problems and general headaches. We could see some players who have lots of powerful cards be able to create some pretty deadly combos, while other players who don`t have many powerful CC cards to not have much of a chance to win against these strong opponents.

So I`m thinking, it might be good if there was a limit to the number of cards you would be able to take out from a standard deck and replace with CC cards, maybe like 3 or 4 max.

Now, of course this is all talk about an option that isn`t here yet and we don`t know when or if we will get it ingame.

Regarding this unlimited option we currently have to stack CC cards, it would be nice to see some sort of cap to it. I understand the points about real life booster pack purchasing, where you don`t have a cap to the cards you can get, but I would still like to see some sort of cap. Depending on how often the dev team will release card series and on the time they will stay around, setting a cap might be a welcomed site by many players. Maybe something like 35 cards if the card series is planned to go permarare or more then that if the cards series stays around for many months.

Like in all things, a balance needs to be present, if a player burns through 80 SGs and 300000 gold, but gets a ton of really bad cards because the RNG feels like that, said player can get extremely frustrated and decide to not play with CC anymore.

Just trying to look at CC from all sides.

Jmagician -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 14:20:08)

@Balu: Well the off thing about the cap of which you speak can pretty much destroy the meaning of a booster pack. If a player lost all that valued currency to gambling, then that player isn't so wise. If there was a cap to the cards attained from a booster pack, the amount of purchases required would be pretty much fixed and this would be very dull.

The way I do it is never mess with the RNG and hope to walk out happy. I set a boundary where I would spend as much as I can up to that boundary point. As soon as I hit that mark, I acquire more currency whether it be gold or SG until I am content at another go. This would be the smart thing to do IMO.

As for your first few points about attempting a full on customization through limited card removals, I agree. We should be able to remove at least a few cards and replace them with new ones. If I may add, I would suggest a separate customization section for each and every character rather than one set of 'additions' saved for all. This would make it feel much more like CC.

With regard to balance in general, I don't think we should look at who has which type of cards but more who has 'access' to which type of cards. It isn't someones fault if they get lucky with booster pack pulls in comparison with someone else. Luck is part of the game and in this sense, does not contribute to an imbalance.

Lord Noonien Soong -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/6/2013 19:27:20)

Got the limited time ice pack! Might have to level into it though

Beck -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/7/2013 0:27:04)

It would be helpful if we were told what exactly "limited" means, in relation to card packs.
People may be more or less willing to spend the SGs/Gold on these Ice cards now if this was a limited time offer, like 2-3 weeks, or if they knew this same pack will return during the winter again.

Helps consumers make wiser purchasing decisions.

Zereldo -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/7/2013 2:58:45)

I think a cap on how many of each card you have is a fair idea. Getting all the cards should not be easy. But it should be achievable. People want to be getting value for their time and money.

@dollarmoth That's actually what Nulgath had in mind when he designed the game. He wanted a cross between MtG and Pokemon.

*Nova* -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/8/2013 17:30:14)

Good to know that Nulgath likes focusing on Ice Monsters this week.. Although, he seemingly fails to understand that Ice Monsters are the glitchest monsters overall right now. I can't play through 1-3 battles without having to refresh the page.

v Is the team also aware that sometimes in battle, the system just freezes as if the creep in PvE actually just disconnected?

Beck -> RE: =OS= May 3rd, 2013: LIVE: Card Customization! (5/8/2013 19:33:04)

@Nova
The team knows of this problem, and they almost have a fix ready for it. So hang on for a bit longer; it will soon be much less frustrating to battle Ice characters.
