Cyber Dream -> Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 14:08:15)

Personally, im on both sides. I still think it is pay to win but for a limited time considering the promos can be brought next year. But i do like the recent balances changes even though it shouldnt of been nerfed for everyone. Another thing that i dont like is that no new features that i know of has been introduced latley. Features are what makes the game
exciting. I dont consider the past tournament a feature since it wasnt free

ale6300 -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 14:13:07)

The game now dont are pay to win anymore, if you are non varium in delta, you become the punching bag for varium players, now varium give time adavantage and some promos if you buy the 50$ varium package.

Cyber Dream -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 14:17:18)

Everyone has there different view of it. My veiw is still pay to win but for a limited time. Everything should be giving at the same time without a time period. Those promo cores are powerful and dominating.

EpicIsEpic -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 14:36:42)

Obviously epic duel is pay to win. It has allways been and allways will be. How else would they make money? And i know some are saying Azreals will will be avaivable next year...

Hey guess what! There will be a new promo next year witch is better and even tho technically non-variums have only the 'time' disadvantage they will allways have disadvantage due to devs making better and better promos each year
It is true that omega is a way better than delta for non-variums but if i remember correctly at the begining of omega when the OP promo wasn't released yet everyone that i fought and was varium and owned the yeti promo said that they DON'T like omega and after the new(azreals stuff) promo MOST people said that they like omega.
Strange isn't it?

kosmo -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 14:46:26)

I have 2 grand emperors and i did more than 110k winz, and guess what? im non var and i can tell u this game is not pay 2 win now, and it wasnt pay 2 win in delta, u just had 2 inves 400k credits on a wep set 2 win, so im glad things are so easier now, even if we have balance issues i do know tht the ed team takes care of players

(arzel will kills creativity, like bots did)

EpicIsEpic -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 14:57:46)

@kosmo
Emmm....
at the end of delta yes you did not need varium to win well it just gave 2 damage and 2 skill point advantage + 2-3 enchantments for all the weapons for everything armor primary sidearm ect. it summed up to 16 extra skill points and 2 damage on all the weapons which isn't THAT BAD. But you did have to pay for advantage and allways will.

They would have actually made more money by selling purely vanity items, convenience items and time savers.
The problem is, ED and AE have already got a massive p2w stigma surrounding them, so ED loses players faster than it gains them.
Once you start pay2win in a pvp game this small, you can never recover. People will stay away from the game for even having it in the first place.

kittycat -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 15:25:50)

The direction for creativity and cores are nice, but the loss of stat abundance is what's not cool due to the desire for winning.

Kd -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 16:32:48)

No this is not a pay to win game anymore...It was in Delta but now that there aren't enhancements and virtually everything can be bought for credits as well it isn't. The promo items are powerful but they aren't necessary to win at all.

They make you win more often and the azrael cores are Best in Slot. That's literally exactly what pay2win is.

Its still pay to win with the OPed promo items. Just meet a support TM with Azrael promo
and your even more a punching bag than before Omega. Before Omega we at least could
farm NPCs to compensate the screwed PVP. All in all ED is now even worse than in Delta
and I dont like the way its going. Its obviously that the concept is to make fast money by
implementing unfairness by pay to win. Its not an accident. This concept never has changed
and its sad that the devs even had spread lies before Omega, that there wont be pay to win
anymore. Alot players think the same and alot of them had stopped to play for that reason.

Cores are enhancements. Its just another name while the effects are different but the
function is the same. The old enhancements could also be bought with credits OR varium.

drekon -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/5/2013 22:03:19)

There's much to improve upon, especially when it comes to making the game more appealing to veteran players who are losing or have lost interest. It's hard to answer the question of this post, because we would have to know the actual direction the game is heading. I'm looking forward to the improvements to be made.

I share your sentiment. There's so much that could be said about it, but the fact of the matter is NPC farming isn't as appealing as it used to be. Before Omega, I had planned to farm NPCs a lot, just to gain enough Credits to change classes. Having seen the low payout for victories, there was no point in farming Credits since Solo PvP wins yielded more of everything in less time.

RageSoul -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 6:22:31)

Answer to your topic's question ? Nope . Not even a single bit . Sure its focus is "who has the craftiest minds" but the Devs did the direct opposite .

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 13:49:20)

I love how everyone was praising the Devs for implementing Omega, even though they were oblivious to the changes. We passed it to know what's inside of it and this is what we got in return. The moment that they announced the removal of npcs, I knew something was incredibly wrong. Why would anyone want to remove npcs? They provide 100 percent economic benefit to this game from allowing non variums to play to generating profit from brainwash. With the removal of npcs, the non variums are gone and the paying players are leaving faster than the Mexicans in Mexico. We can fix this problem in 2-3 updates, we need to first bring back the npcs and then roll back every regulation placed onto the players since late Beta.

Trae -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 13:59:22)

@Angels Holocaus
Amen

EnlightenedSpirit -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 15:03:36)

I honestly don't know what the fuzzle the team is doing anymore... do they not realize they are ruining their own game?

Yes, it's heading right into death. That's when most of the varium players leave.

Sageofpeace -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 15:55:28)

^i have no complain about promos or op classes but i do have complain of how little they done to improve the battle modes specially 2vs2 since beta we been waiting for a good fix yet they have done nothing now few of us reminded.

Xendran -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 18:13:35)

Actually, i think they do realize it, but the amount of effort and time required to fix this game is likely more than AE is willing to give overhead for.

hijinks -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 18:18:44)

I feel that they kinda are ruining their own game, I'm not sure at how much was ruined (if someone could give me a list, that would be great). The few things I know are these:
-Extremely high Credit/Varium prices
-Removal of Boosters
-Removing of NPCs
-OP Promo items/Cores
-Expensive Stat Re-arranging/Upgrade

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 18:20:54)

If they weren't OP, no one wouldn't buy it unless they ran out of credits so they had to buy var ^^.

hijinks -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 18:29:42)

But they said that the gap between varium and non varium players (power-wise) would be gone. Varium was supposed to only be for time-saving as it was intended.

EnlightenedSpirit -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 19:32:44)

Yeah that's what I believe as well Xen, I don't see this game surviving another year. At least i got to enjoy Beta, can't believe the devs did this to their own game...
@hijinks Varium should be more than just something that is used because you're too lazy or busy with life to get the credits you need. Some weapons should be a little OP
so players start to envy those who have them, which means those players will buy packages to get those items. At least imo.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 19:39:28)

I don't believe the Devs purposely did this to their game. They're trying to sabotage the game and it looks like it's working. This game should've closed down a long time ago, it's time to start anew I guess.

Xendran -> RE: Do you like the direction epicduel is heading? (5/6/2013 20:11:34)

Not even remotely close to true. They can be equally powerful, but be DIFFERENT than other cores, without being OP.
Also if you look at games like PoE, people are spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on nothing but vanity items, stash tabs and unique implementation. (For $1000 you can collaborate with the devs to create your own Unique)
There are people that have spent like $15,000 on PoE in the last year or two, and get absolutely no advantage from it.
