Tactmerc's Frenzy Usable by mauls ? :D just sayin . Because Sword can used on bludgeon :/ i would be fair , also with hunters Cheap shot usable by swords (Can't Imagine The Animation)

Bludgeon was changed to sword because Mages had the most class weapon specific skills. It used be they had 5 while Mercs had 2 and BHs had 3. Changing Frenzy to sword would give TLMs only one skill needing a club.

Not supported. Each class has to have at least two moves that require their original weapon (Maul, Staff, Claws). For TLM those moves are frenzy and atom smasher which I find perfectly fine.

Stun grenade makes no sense without smoke...so ->

Make Frenzy a sword-based move and switch maul back in for stun grenade -> problem solved.

Not necessarily. It's very useful in certain situations. And if tactical mercenary got maul back they would have 4 strength based moves, and most likely strength TLMs would destroy again.

Overload is weak without Malf.. That's a false in case of BMs. All it takes is good timing (i.e. rage) or high Dex.

Not supported. Frenzy is a nice skill and it's one of the only two skills which require a Maul as a TLM. With new energy denial cores, for example Frost Shards, the need for Mauls has been compromised. There needs to be some attractive skills in each skill tree which require another weapon otherwise people wouldn't use them.

change surgical strike.
massacre requires claws.
super charge requires a staff.
surgical strike requires none.

If you used str with a sword giving you abit more stats and you could frenzy with it, then it is stupid.

i say yes, make surgical only usable with maul, and make atom smasher or stun usable with sword. it would give mercs less of a stats advantage on a special.

@toopygoo: The only reason a TLM would EVER use a maul is for atom smasher, they don't even really care about frenzy in most cases. Atom smasher is a humongous staple on maul TLM focus builds, and making surg require a maul and atom require nothing would just make the class OP beyond belief.

Cheap shot is a low-energy costing move with a slight damage boost and a high chance of getting a lucky hit, which will in most cases more than double the damage it was originally going to deal. Giving this skill to sword users would make it really messed up because a last-ditch cheap shot kill with a higher-stat-boosting sword could definitely make BH and CH win rates go way up.

Bludgeon was moved to being able to be used with sword also benefits BMs greatly because pretty much all BM skills which require a staff are useless except for caster builds, so BMs really need bludgeon to not have a weapon requirement.

I don't think frenzy should be able to be used with a sword. The skills that require frenzy are poison and atom smasher, and poison isn't that great because it can be healed out of, and you wouldn't even invest in atom unless you were using a maul anyways. If frenzy was open up to swords, TLM focus tanks with swords would just use level 1 frenzy, and every time they raged with it they would recover 5+ HP, and probably more than that in most cases, for the meager cost of 9 energy and one skill point.
