What was the reason poll become forbidden? And is there any way we can make it not forbidden?

They were spam. They needed more than a Yes/No option and people would often try to rule evade by adding a "I like pie" option or something similar. In short, they were more hassle than they were worth. The same reason the quote post button got removed. Too much work for the forum staff over a trivial feature.
