Maqximus213 -> Faction Want-Adds (5/19/2013 23:04:19)

I'll start by saying if this was already suggested, I apologize, and, probably support. Here is my version:

Now that we have this new in-game mailing system, Faction leaders may post a want-add for specific types of players they want in their Factions. 1vs1, 2vs2, Juggernaut, Just For Fun, etc etc etc.

Around the planet posterboards for the "Want-Adds" section could be set up for the viewing of all players. They could click on the posterboard, then click on the post heading.

The post heading would look something like this: "Name of Faction: 1vs1, 2vs2, etc etc etc" Or "Exile Faction Looking for......"

Faction Alignment: Exile/Legion
Faction Type: 1vs1, 2vs2, Juggernaut, Just For Fun, etc.
Age: ? (I suggest this ONLY because some serious Factions may want people who can play whenever they want and who are serious about being an asset.)
Class: ? (I suggest this ONLY because maybe Faction Leaders might want to lead a Class Specific Faction for whatever their agenda may be.)
Wins Wanted Weekly: (I suggest this because not everyone can play for hours each day, but may be able to at least contribute the wins wanted per week.)

If a player felt that they could meet the criteria for the faction, then they could click on the "APPLY" box which would be placed at the bottom of the criteria list. Clicking APPLY would automatically send a Message to the Faction Leader. If the application takes too long to be read or answered or denied, then the applicant may "Rescind" the application, thus, letting them apply elsewhere.

To prevent spam and to stop the Leaders inbox from over flowing, the Applicant may only apply to 1 faction at a time and the Faction Leader may only receive up to 5 applications. If a Leader denies an applicant then the applicant will receive a "Denied" mail and may not reapply for 30 days.

There can be color-coded post headings to let applicants know whether or not they can apply at the time. GREEN: Position(s) available, RED: Application Box Full.

This would make recruiting alot more easy as, instead of looking for members, players would look for membership. This would stop non-affiliates from being annoyed by constant requests of joining factions.

Im sure there is alot of tweaking that would be needed to make this work but I htink in the future this would be a great asset to EpicDuel.

Supported or not, thx for reading.

the only reason i dont see this fit, is that anyone can still apply claiming to be this person. ccertain famous factions may be flooded with useless reqeusts, wasting owners time.
if there was an easier way to refine it such as limiting the levels that can apply, and minimum win numbers of something, that would be cooler, but that may stop certain sakilled players from being able to join :/

^ Did you read the part about "preventing spam"? Leaders may only receive 5 applications at a time. And if they deny the applicant, that person may not re-apply for 30 days to that same faction.
Also, if the post heading is RED, that means there are no positions available as there are 5 applications still pending.

i did yes. and its still junk

the system cannot sort through spam itself. 5/5 of those applications may still be garbage. 5 people can apply who arent what the people are looking for, and this will stop people who ARE eligible from applying then, because the spots are taken.

if you want to run your faction on applications, i recommend an external site which allows surveys.

i made this for my faction, and it has this application syste, of which you speak. i send people i want there, and they then decide if they are interested or not.
works for me, and does not need to be implemented and take up devs time.
