Khalix -> Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/20/2013 11:29:38)

Stats and skill trees get displayed, but what of the skill cores?

http://puu.sh/2XpyR.jpg (External image link)

Under the skill tree, there's still some free space, if that won't cut it, it could just be some icons next to the weapons and armor to indicate the presence of a core.

Why?

Skills can be expected, but cores are hard to spot unless they're used or come with promotional items with fixed cores.
There are no balance problems and this helps with the battlefield transparency (Capability to see what your enemy/ally is capable of)

Isn't this in FSI?

Khalix -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/20/2013 12:26:17)

Said core shop/inventory.

xGreen Warriorx -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/20/2013 19:05:49)

Personally I like having cores as a secret weapon.

Mother1 -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/20/2013 19:45:59)

Not supported for the reason green warrior stated.

NDB -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/20/2013 21:02:48)

Supported. Personally I hate having cores being used as a secret weapon. Especially those Energy Shots. And the Primary Active.

EpicIsEpic -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/21/2013 2:34:16)

@NDB
I love it... I am a caster and when playing vs tac mercs with MAX Surgical Strike you can troll them a bit. First assim, then they use generator then use gun core.

Xendran -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/21/2013 6:10:27)

SUpported, because hiding cores is just another luck element. You have to get lucky and correctly guess what cores your opponent has.

Khalix -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/21/2013 8:04:06)

It's not much luck, but more on intuition, really.

Same guy with the same equipment mean the same cores (Usually)
However, my common assumption is that everyone lvl 30+ w/ a full set of equipment has generator in the very least.

However, again, the problem is with transparency.
Cores as-is are "Secret weapons". They can't be countered the way skills can be and even if they're single-use, they can be used in a devastating way (Like meteor+rage).
Thing is, you can view someone's skill tree and their stats with impunity. Cores are something like extra skills but again, are shrouded.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/21/2013 23:53:09)

Supported. I suggested this a while back because it really doesn't bring any tactical sense into the game. It's almost like fighting an opponent blind without seeing their stats/build because if they're a BM and they have an EP-removing core, then I won't know, or if they don't have generator I won't know either.

toopygoo -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/21/2013 23:55:41)

but you see their build. cores are what one hides up their sleeve...
i do not support this. perhaps making a core which allows you to see others cores? to allow people who find this important to use it.

Mother1 -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 0:02:16)

@ toopygoo

It doesn't matter to some people how much you can see about your opponent. If one thing is hidden they can't formulate a counter for it which some people just can't stand.

I'm a caster too. And that's exactly why I hate it when I don't know if they have Energy Shot or Frost Shards or not.

toopygoo -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 5:49:17)

well thats what finally provides a challenge. being able to predict every single move they make, can take most risk aspects out of the way. not you have pressure to use your energy before you actually need to to avoid getting drained.

Khalix -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 9:35:02)

It -is- a strategy game. You can't take into account what's unknown into your strategy. You can see what your enemy is completely capable of, but the same applies to you. It would be about wits and timing without a hidden factor.

Like chess.

Mother1 -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 11:00:24)

@ Khalix

I remember Goony mentioning that when enough cores come into the game that the staff would eventually make them visible. But as it stands now we don't have a lot of them.

Khalix -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 11:06:18)

Where would that be?

Mother1 -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 11:26:14)

@ khalix

This was in a thread made a while ago back when we only had the most basic of cores. If I find it I will link you to it.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 13:06:56)

^^

You can't support if it is older then 2 weeks.

Ranloth -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 13:10:44)

Then you can kindly PM an AK to bump the thread if needed so you can support/post your feedback. Not that difficult. Either that or let the thread gather dust.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 13:18:52)

^^

I did that and they said no. I don't know what you are talking about trans. I'm sure you have never tried.

Mother1 -> RE: Display active and passive cores in stat page (5/22/2013 13:23:33)

@ hulk

I said I would link him to it, I never said I would bump it.
