King of Clubs -> The Rise and Fall of Epic Duel (5/25/2013 2:48:32)

I feel that epic duel is going in a very bad direction. AE is catering specifically to the request of low level players who have not given anywhere near the time or money to the company that you veterans have. A certain "scape themed" game made the exact same mistake several times before, each of which resulted in a massive exodus of players leaving for different games.

Do what you want with the energy drainer/absorber skills and nerf our crits and weaken our bots, but please do not touch the passive skills. Passive skills are essential to good builds because they are currently the backbone of the game, and breaking them would paralyze the game in its tracks. You could reduce their benefits or give them an energy drain function (with the effect ending when the players runs out of energy), anything would be better than removing them completely.

Just wait till they make the change, you can judge them after that.

I, too, am a bit skeptical of the removal of passives.

I feel they could make 1 passive into an active from each class.

Ranloth -> RE: The Rise and Fall of Epic Duel (5/25/2013 2:52:47)

Exactly. Passive skills are essential, that's the whole problem. You shouldn't be forced to have a certain skill just to compete, and this was said all the way back in Gamma. The idea of passives turning to active skills was around since around then as well.

And as above, you have no info and already judge the change. It's like me saying you're one of the worst players in game before I even look at your character and fight you in-game.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: The Rise and Fall of Epic Duel (5/25/2013 3:06:06)

You know there's a problem with the game when a person makes a post about how bad it is on a weekly basis. These "rant" posts are coming up more frequently than it ever has in any other phase. We need to bring this game back to the way things were in Beta.

Or it's the problem with community whining about everything without saying anything constructive. I don't need to quote the ED Decline Thread, it's said enough. (:

people just doesn't have much to do other than whine and rant on about stuff that isn't true, the game is currently doing pretty well.

Nobody should "like" passive skills in the first place if 10 to 20 of your skill points are doomed.

Also, balance. Passive skills are stats in reality. Mineral Armor is 10 Defense at maximum. The old argument is that the skill replaces the necessity to allot 40-50 Dexterity points. Now classes are being balanced not just on active skills but are being nerfed or buffed based on passive skills. Especially when you have a difference like comparing Bounty Hunter's passive skills and the Tech Mage's passive skills... the difference in scale is appalling (Tech Mage has the advantage for your information).

TankMage -> RE: The Rise and Fall of Epic Duel (5/26/2013 7:26:29)

As this falls under a balance concern I'm going to need to lock this up. Please remember all balance suggestions, discussions and concerns go in the EpicDuel Balance forum.

Locked.
