King of Clubs -> A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/28/2013 3:47:11)

Signpost:

A sign to be hung on the wall capable of displaying a custom message which is set by the player while in the house building mode.
I would advise having a range of different looks for it so house has a sign that blends in to the look of the area.

Cost: 5,000 Credits, 500 Varium (when a new house comes out, its sign will be set at 6,500 Credits and 650 Varium for the first month).
_____

Battle Token Slot Machine:

Players will be able pay 2 battle tokens in order to receive 1-10 tokens back. In order to prevent this from becoming addicting and ruining a players rating, players would be limited to 10 games per day (20 tokens spent for a return of up to 200). The slot machine should work only 1 per day for visitors, and the limit for the visitor play should be based on the account not the house, meaning they can not go to 20 houses to play 20 times.

Chances:
1 - - - - - - - - 25%
2 - - - - - - - - 35%
3, 4, 5, or 6 - -20%
7, 8, or 9 - - - 15%
10 - - - - - - - -5%

Cost: 10,000 Credits, 500 Varium*

* You may also make it a quest reward for turning in 500 battle tokens (while also granting the "One Armed Bandit" achievement worth 400 points, so players do not divert much from their rating)

_____

A Modern Touch:

This will be an item based on the current (or most recent) war, which will change into a new form with each new war, at which time the previous form will appear in the shop or appear for free in the house inventories of whoever owns the item at the time.

Cost: 7,500 Credits, 375 Varium; 20,000 Credits, 2,000 Varium**

** If the previous form will be awarded directly to the players then the cost will be 20,000 Credits and 2,000 Varium, since it will be more of a long term investment. You could even make a normal modern touch and one that gives you the items, if you do this then do not offer the previous forms in the shop.

_____

Guest Log:

Players may click on this item in another persons house to record their name and the date of their visit. It will hold up to 25 signatures at one time, and the owner of the book will be able to "Lock" any of entries in the book so they will not be pushed off the list and remain in the book until manually deleted.

Cost: 5,000 Credits, 175 Varium
_____

Fish tank:

I don't know if you could implement this or not but you would sell the tank first (roughly an eighth of the screen size), and sell different fish at varying prices which will be entered automatically into the tank when purchased and swim around the tank. In order to limit the processing taken by the fishtank inventory players would be limited to 3 fish at a time (which can be raised all the way up to 10 at the price of 650 Varium per spot. Fish tank decorations like bubbles, chests, castles, etc would also be sold and held in the tank inventory.

Cost: 7,500 Credits, 400 Varium
_____

Rail Station:

It will appear like the travel doors in central station. Players will be able to link one (but only 1) portal to any screen in the game for instant teleportation. This would be really useful for wars, getting to stat trainers, etc.

Cost: 20,000 Credits, 1,000 Varium
_____

NPCs:

Various Achievement giving NPCs could be "hired" and placed in the house, although they would offer only the challenge offer and none of their other usual services. Extra hard ones could be sold as well, which offer new achievements. To prevent players from cycling these, they will sell back for 100 Credits and 50 Varium. Alternatively, the hard versions could be awarded free with the achievement after beating the respective npc (or the next time a player beats them if they already have the achievement); in this case the hard versions would give relatively small achievements.

Cost: 7,500 Credits, 750 Varium (normal); 25,000 Credits, 2500 Varium (hard)
_____

Exile/Legion Trophy:
The Clicking on the item will open a small in-game window read: (player name) has annihilated X single foes and X teams, as witnessed by (Balius for the legion, The Lawman for the Exile). The item will change based on the players current faction but will default Legion for players who are not in a faction (as they are not "actively participating in the resistance" they are assumed to follow the Legion like normal citizens).

Cost: 7,500 Credits, 250 Varium
_____

Storage Closet:
When a visitor clicks on it, the items currently in the house owners inventory will be displayed.

Cost: Either 2,500 Credits, 0 varium; or free to all players when they buy their first house (or their next house item for players who already own houses when its put in the game)

odsey -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/28/2013 5:52:58)

I like most of the idea, but about your npc suggestion, why not make them new npc Also would be nice if only the owner of the house could battle the npc.

Edit: For your house item suggestion, why not add a guard in the house for Varium? When a stranger goes to a player house, they must face the guard. Don't know if the Battle engine could do this though.

Bloodpact -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/28/2013 10:50:12)

Nice ideas!

Would def give more of a "reason" for even having
a house or houses in the first place.

Tho the token machines maximum output should be 5 tokens.

martinsen5 -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/29/2013 2:42:58)

Love this [;)]

Charfade -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/29/2013 12:08:50)

Saving ^^

Although we probably wont implement the Battle Token Slot Machine. :( Breaks what were are legally able to put into the game.

Bloodpact -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/29/2013 13:58:39)

^ What if you had a chance of getting nothing back ? was like one token would get you 0-2 tokens back.

Or did I misread what the legal partial with in this idea D:.

martinsen5 -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/29/2013 15:04:17)

@Bloodpact, although I do love the token idea, I think AE has a rule that says no gambling, or so.

Mother1 -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/29/2013 15:47:30)

@ martinsen5

not that I for this idea but the same could be said of the old arcade since you paid 5 tokens for the chance to win a prize if you won. That in itself is another form of gambling even if there was PVP involved in it.

Bloodpact -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/29/2013 16:45:35)

True that^ you were gambling your tokens for a chance at a prize.

Lycus -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/30/2013 4:13:05)

With the arcade, you simply paid 5 tokens to go into a battle which then had a chance to win some sort of prize, the same way you would pay 5 tokens to battle an NPC that gave you a chance to win an Achievement if you won the battle. It was not exactly gambling your tokens on pure luck, it was using your tokens to enter a normal battle which if you won, you had a high chance of receiving some sort of prize. It includes a mixture of skill and a bit of luck, however the percentages in the end did mean you had a high chance of winning at least one prize. In a way you can view it as gambling, however you also can see that the feature has been removed from the game, so it is not something worth debating anymore! However since it was not purely on luck and it was in the players favour in the end once all the prizes had been added, it was not serious gambling at all.

The issue with the slot machine is that if you go into most arcades, the slot machines are almost always over 18 strictly, may be even over 21, depending on where you are in the world. It is gambling your money on a machine in a fashion that is almost purely down to luck and you have a higher chance of losing your money than winning it. With a token slot machine, it would have to be in exactly the same type of scenario, since tokens are a big part of factions and achievements, we cannot just give them out with a high win rate on the machines and it would not include any skill. All in all it would just purely be gambling, which as Charfade and a few others have said, is not allowed in-game.

Most the other ideas are very good though and would possibly be an interesting addition!

Scyze -> RE: A load of new varium-worthy house items (5/30/2013 5:03:40)

I did think that the Battle Token Slot Machine fell into the gambling areas and would encounter problems such as age restrictions. :)
