Lycus -> RE: Raise the max bag space (5/30/2013 4:01:21)

This is a difficult one - with selling increasing inventory space, it means it costs more for us to store all of that data since it leads to higher bandwidth being used. That being said, we have no real urgency to raise it right now because so very few players are actually close to the limit. We cannot raise it simply because one or two players are a few items off. I completely understand that some players absolutely love keeping their rarity score very high and so on, however the situation is a classic trade off. You can store many of one item or you can use that space to store multiple items. The more of one single rare item you store, the higher your rarity score, but the lower the space you have in your inventory for other items. The more different items you have, possibly (depending on weapons) the lower your rarity score is, however you have a much higher diversity and range of different weapons. Its your choice which direction you choose to go, or whether you try to stay in the middle and go for rarity and variety. Whichever you choose will result in an opportunity cost of the other, as explained above, but sadly you cannot expect the inventory limit to simply be raised to accommodate just you and a few others so you can have things all ways, some times decisions have to be made!
