ReinVI -> Epicduel great depression~ or something like that (6/4/2013 16:17:43)

Ok first and foremost this is not a complaint thread

two this thread is for discussing what you personally believe is wrong with the 'economy' of this game
prices to high/ low etc etc etc

Me personally I have to say they are making new items way to expensive credits wise doing the math it requires almost
1500 1v1 wins to acquire just one of the newer items ( legion/ exile weapons, new bots etc etc ) which in my opinion is just absurd
especially with how balance is it feels like playing this game is more like a job then something you do for fun due to the prices.
Yes i understand the whole "if it's to cheap then varium players are being ripped off yada yada" but honestly there's a difference
between "a shortcut" and "saving a week of my life by buying varium" cause honestly 1500 1v1 wins takes probably about that much time
to complete and that's if you play actively. The only exceptions are those people who obviously do play this game like it's there job and somehow
rack up 500+ wins a day which i honestly could never see myself doing.

a couple things here:
a-play during power hour to acquire faster credits.
b-a week to get a new weapon isn't crazy. What would be crazy is buying 3 weapons a week, or whatever.
c-you chose the most expensive weapon to date as a comparison. in reality most weapons cost around 25k, even the new ones. the only reason these legion/exile ones are so expensive is because they are also promos, are mutating, and have a valuable core along with them.
d-your points are based on the perspective of a level 35 buying his/her items fully upgraded.

What's wrong with the ED economy is the inflation of prices for Credit items, cores, and lack of choices to get a decent amount of money without doing some hardcore gaming.

Mondez -> RE: Epicduel great depression~ or something like that (6/4/2013 20:42:23)

Looking at the settings, are we not in the future? ED is in a futuristic field so weapons would be expensive because we are not purchasing cardboard. I think to combat this inflation we should have maybe have a bounty system in place that would give some incentive to get more gold since it's constant battle grinding at the moment for ED.

@Hijinks
Glad you approve of it since it's an optional way to gain gold faster than the current system, but I have not worked out on how it should work.

hijinks -> RE: Epicduel great depression~ or something like that (6/4/2013 20:47:03)

That's a great idea! A bounty system would be epic! Bounty Hunters can do bounties, Mercs can get signed into contracts, and Mages can fix things/etc. That could create something akin to jobs in ED. :O

Aw shucks, I am not that great. [:o]

But thank you!

I have to agree with some of the points here like weapons prices are too expensive, we need to be a little like "no lifer" in order to acquire new weapons and compete with other players. IMO, the reason why devs are putting us in this kind of situation is in order to bring back players into PVP. I guess the dev's had observe that most players nowadays are not really into PVP. I know servers were full at any given time of the day but players tend to log-in just for gringding npc's during power hour, check for new mail, check new Hq message from founder, and battle 5-10 times in order not to be kicked from faction. ED today is very much different from ED before. Im sure many early beta players can attest to that. I said it soooooo many times before that players need to have some sort of "motivation" in order to play pvp a lot. 32 credits and 5 influence points is obviously not enough as a reward after a long hard fought. A little reward system like battle drops, and miscellaneous items which can be sold for a mere amount of credits is not really that hard to give right?? I dont want to sound so sarcastic but what injury will it cause the developers of this game if they game some sort of rewards (except for 32 credits and 5 influence points) for every pvp wins??

zion -> RE: Epicduel great depression~ or something like that (6/5/2013 4:44:10)

Simple solution: bring back drops (for pvp).

EpicIsEpic -> RE: Epicduel great depression~ or something like that (6/5/2013 9:41:00)

The problem is that in most games you get more credits/ ingame currency as you level up... Not in this game... So it is ONLY fun in lov levels.

@Kd, you could look at all future weapons and armors from this perspective, but you see, new cores are EXPECTED by the community seeing as cores play a major role in the battle system in the Omega phase of ED. Considering more future weapons if not every single one of them will come with new cores, they should all be sold cheaper since it's "standard" Right now this is not the case, a lot of new weapons come with no cores, but I think this will change in the future, hopefully. (People have been extremely disappointed when new weapons come with no new cores)

What I mean is, if more weapons come with new cores in the future, it would only make sense to lower the prices, otherwise every new item would be ridiculously overpriced, and no one would buy the older weapons since they don't come with cores and wouldn't be able to compete.

Angels Holocaust -> RE: Epicduel great depression~ or something like that (6/6/2013 3:17:13)

We're in the Obama recovery now, all that hope and change will do something beneficial to this game. I can't believe that we're worse off now than when we were 3 years ago.

Zeruphantom -> RE: Epicduel great depression~ or something like that (6/10/2013 0:08:41)

Now we're calling it the great depression? Sure, the game isn't exactly "Joe balanced" right now, but I think this has taken it a step too far :P.

A career system in Epic Duel? It goes from a simple PvP game, to a near dress-up game... and now a game that includes jobs? I don't think the idea would be so thrilling if it actualy came around. We would be attracting more kids, when we already have enough as it is now [&:]

Neither. I assumed that at this point in time, the game would've progressed at least slightly. No use complaining, though; it sounds like I'm nagging :/.
