EpicIsEpic -> More skills (6/5/2013 9:01:34)

There shuld be second page of skills.
Why?
As of now there are 12 skills per class but many of them are being shared by other classes e.g. Field Medic Smoke/Malf ect...
More viarity.
A simplified story why?

Lets say build A becomes OP. Everyone starts using it. People who don't use it start to think how to counter the build A.

They find build B which counters the build A. Everyone jumps to build B because it counters the build A (previously OP).

Then comes the build C which can counter the build B but cannot counter the build A.

The cycle continious.

The same story in epic duel.

People find a build A being OP. It gets nerfed because there are not counters.

Please write your ideas on more skills that could be added into the game. Support/Not support. Discuss.

Where I support the idea of more skills there comes a price of having quantity and that price is balance. The devs are already struggling to keep things even slightly balanced with what skills we have throwing more into the equation could make the games balance literally collapse due to having to try and balance these skills in combination with all the other skills already in game ( along with balancing along side cores, etc etc ) making sure nothing could become to powerful.

More variety? Wait for passives to turn into active skills, it should bring a bit more variety rather than each class having to have a certain passive or even two just to be able to compete.

ReinVI -> RE: More skills (6/5/2013 12:53:17)

honestly I think making all passives actives is a flat out stupid idea... maybe SOME of them but all? know that's a horrible idea and so far given ED's latest history will just cause even more unbalance in the game.

In almost ( probably actually every single ) rpg I have ever played where you place points into a skill tree there are always passives in said skill tree that give small boosts to different aspects of your character. So taking away passives from this game is just going to ruin it in my opinion. Unlike what ( goony? not sure ) said with passives just being a crutch. I believe that's stupid... passives give an identity to a class without class passives it just makes the class have a slightly different selection of skills and a different type of weapon.. it's beginning to "blur" the line between one class and the other. At least that's my personal opinion on the whole situation. I may be wrong and this could be the holy grail update we have all been waiting for but as I'm sure others would agree... I'll believe when I see it until then I'm sticking with my belief that making passives active is a bad idea.

Necromantres -> RE: More skills (6/5/2013 13:41:54)

We will see. in my opinion having a passive shouldn't be a "must"...when HA got the support requirement why did people changed to 5 focus and support? just for the sake of an armor that gets ignored on rage? why would a passive decide the fate of battle? (like reroute or blood lust)
I losed many times to BH and BM at a small hp point just to realize that's a pice of the amnount they got from blood lust...The game itself made that passive are a must...so changing them may be a fresh start (while i may be screwed having no passive reroute)

The only "side effect" i see from changing passives to active are that the quick kill builds that don't rely on passives will get somehow an advantage and that energy draining skills will get and indirect buff (no passive reroute = less energy + emp = less chances to heal for example )

The first week will be horrible maybe but after that it will be a sunny rise or not? That's left for debate.

But let's look at the good side : aren't you sick of the build those days?, no good new build that can actualy work to good.
