Baydraze -> Gothic words, names, and weapons (6/14/2013 11:04:21)

Guys, me and many others don't like the fact that ED is turning into a gothic game. I mean they say games can be bad for people, but I see kids calling themselves ''Satan'' or ''DEVIL'' etc. I don't think the devs should continue making demon bikes and stuff like that. I liked the easter bunny weps a lot cause it was just funny and peacefull but I don't like these hornes and skulls. I think thats why people don't play this game.

What do you guys think?

Well if you remember the words of Kimberly the theme is a scientific futuristic punk thing so having that kind of thing in the game actually fits.

As for the why people aren't playing this game, you couldn't be further from the truth.

Most people I seen stopped playing the game because it isn't balanced, and/or changes that were made that they didn't like.

If what you were saying was true then the game would have been nearly empty years ago since a lot of this art has been in the game for a while.

I don't like Easter Bunnies because it makes the game look childish whilst I classify myself as more of a teenager/young adult, how does that work out for me? The balance between the two is good but saying that skulls and demons are the reason why players quit is... hilarious. Trust me, game has other flaws that do push players away.

Not sure if trolling, or serious about devils and bunnies ....

When it comes to art and themes we attach looks to, everyone is going to have their own tastes. That's just the nature of everyone's unique personality. We've taken this into account and built on the concept that everyone is different in what they like so we try to offer as many choices as possible. In the same re-guard we always try to spice it up with our own EpicDuel style. We do have special guest artists like Dage, Thyton, and Jemini who come in from time to time to give those who follow their art also something to look forward to in the game. Building upon the principle of choice. In the end we just hope everyone can find one thing that they really like and can show off. ^^

Does it really matter if kids call themselves Satan or Devil in ED? Once they are done playing ED they probably go shoot people in COD or GTA games or some other games like that... ;)

I cannot disagree more with you. Naming yourself devil or killer in a video game does not mean you are going to sacrifice puppies to Beelzebub....

toopygoo -> RE: Gothic words, names, and weapons (6/14/2013 15:23:13)

well i guess i better re-evaluate my priorities then..

Q...Q -> RE: Gothic words, names, and weapons (6/14/2013 16:01:00)

Yes , they should re-edit there language filter and ban , devil, killer or anything related to these words.

ReconnaisX -> RE: Gothic words, names, and weapons (6/15/2013 11:32:52)

So, if we see a 666SATAN666, do we freak out and report the "offender"?

ReinVI -> RE: Gothic words, names, and weapons (6/15/2013 11:34:40)

I can't take this seriously...

For one the words "killer, devil," evil sounding words like that do not entail a "gothic" origin...
Hell one of the prime examples of "original gothic" are buildings done in gothic style architecture want to know what the best examples of that are? Churches! older European churches!
someone who uses the name "SatanicXKillerz or whatever is just doing that because A ... he probably can't think of an actual name B. He might be a satanist in real life ( which is a religious choice ) or C. he just thought the name sounded cool.

And on the topic of the art? If you don't like the armor/ weapons with skulls, bones, demonic looking stuff then it's your right to use something else! especially now that all gear is equal except for the few exclusive cores to a couple of weapons and the only 'exclusi-cores" that fit your 'gothic' criteria are the dages guns ( which there are now a botanical gun with the same core ) and to a lesser extent the frost armor from the exile? side during the frysteland war. which there was also another more tech/ still spikey/ science styled armor for the legion ( which you could get both it wasn't based on your alignment.

so Yeah... no this game doesn't really have any sort of "gothic influences" unless there's some building I don't know about.

Khalix -> RE: Gothic words, names, and weapons (6/15/2013 11:46:32)

Because clearly, enjoying killing someone's online avatar would mean they are murderers in real life.

I'd say this is PG13, and you've seen plenty of people from other online games with the similar rating have these sorts if weird names, but does that equal to how they behave in real life?

Because being impaled is funny and peaceful.
Same goes for lacerating someone...
And let's not forget that weapons are generally made with the purpose to harm someone. Funny and peaceful indeed.

Now, tell me, what do you have against the gothic culture? You're perfectly fine with the use of weapons but hate skulls and horns- A possible byproduct of the use of weapons.
It's like you're promoting violence, but don't want to deal with the bodies.
