Tac Mercs' primary strategy is tank and reroute.

Then with that much defense, wear down the enemy slowly but surely.

I remember when Tactical merc had smoke. However with smoke the class was OP. It has passive armor, passive energy regain and a debuff. All that players were using with this class was OP strength builds. So it was either reroute or Smoke and they took smoke away.

I've seen Tact Mercs busting their butts off with tank strength reroute builds and they do pretty fine, but one thing I'd suggest though is them replacing surgical strike with another move.

Not with another dumb move, but mostly I was thinking the team could make one good move to replace Surgical Strike

for now , we can't suggest anything to happen cause a major switch is happening : passives are turning into actives.
but actually that's my personal problem , i planned to switch from tlm to anything :P but then i read about this switch so i decided to wait until it is done so i wouldn't waste 50k .
but it is taking for ever . on the other hand this week we will see everything , the war the switch so it's okay.
for more then a month i had problem in playing more then 5 mins :P
TLM is sooooooooo boring , no diversity no nothing , and actually this was all discussed like 2-3 weeks ago .

TLMs really play more of a waiting game, as they lack any good offensive skills aside from poison which costs too much energy and can easily be healed out of. Their endurance capacity is off the charts, though, with frenzy, reroute, atom smasher, rage reducing-surgical strike, and a passive armor. Currently, TLM is too much like a rock-paper-scissors thing where it just dominates certain builds but has barely any chance of winning against others.

there not unfair different classes are meant for different things you can't expect every class to be quick kills if they were there wouldn't be a variety... they tank and win through a war of attrition.

I remember they had technician and smoke. Both were OP. You tech your self for more tech then you smoke because of high tech then you robot giving you high tech build.

i don't expect to have all classes the same , but i do expect to have a decent class that tanks and stuff .Even the main strategy of tlm don't work ( talking about tanking ) .
did u try to play as tlm lately ? all u need is 10 min to have tried his possible builds ( which are 2 : "support abuse" & "high tech and surgical" ). after that u get bored to death .

Really? The Skills aren't that good? Maybe Omega's playing around with your mind making you think they're not good. Personally, with the changes of Omega, the Skills have gotten weaker since you're not doing good as in the past.

My build before Omega was great! A tanking 5 focus TLM would work great if you knew how to use it carefully. That build beat a lot of people while losing a few. If you don't believe me, Mother1 is a good example where I beat her and a partner in a 2v1 situation.


Lets just see what happens after the Passive Skills turn into Active Skills. Maybe the changes will make Tactical Mercenaries good again or maybe make them worse.

@Scyze: TLM was actually OP before Omega; the correct tank builds granted absolutely ridiculous win rates. No one should be able to have a 98% win rate in 1v1, even in delta. The problem with TLMs back then was that less people had the patience or knowledge of how to use it correctly, and since there were very few TLM users who were great at tanking, not many people really complained about it.

Yay! I'm special! :D

Yeah, I do believe that they were OP but the caster TMs were really a pain for me. I mean, the correct combinations of Weapons would make you perform quite well and also because you could deal a reasonable amount of damage with Plasma Bolt.
Not many people did actually complained; I once did complain about me deflecting too much. The reason could have been that the fact that there weren't a lot of people around with those builds.

I've been dominating everyone on my tactical merc...other than azrael gear techmages.

Anyways try this:

Health: 77
Energy: 61
Strength: 46 +32
Dexterity: 46 +12
Technology: 74 +32
Support: 45


Skill tree:

2-3-10
0-4-0
10-0-0
8-0-0

Primary: Physical (Sword Is Recommended)
Sidearm: Energy (Get the energy taking skill core)
Aux: Doesn't matter, you'll only use it when the person has 3 health for an emergency-finisher.
Armor: Get generator core.
Defence: +7
Resistance: +3

Robot: Infernal android or batonical bot (energy)

@Scyze: Caster TM's did have their advantages against TLMs, but before Omega simple abuse of atom smasher pretty much wrecked them. Also, caster TMs had more weaknesses such as the overused strength BH before the massacre nerf. It was easy to abuse the multi glitch where multis sometimes did 100% damage instead of 85% damage to both enemies in 2v2 (main reason why my dex caster BM actually worked in 2v2).

There is no problem with tact merc. You just have to learn to fight through their armor. I agree that surgical is a good move but mercs have them to. Robots, surgical, stun grenade, auxillary is their main dmg tool. you just have to learn to battle them. If it was a real unfair it would be last time when they have maul and smoke screen

@DreamJean: Stun grenade is pretty much the most useless skill to exist in a class, even more so than plasma grenade. This is because first of all, it has terrible base damage and a high energy cost, and it increases with dex which isn't a prioritized investment on TLMs. Second, stun/plasma grenade have some use on CH/BH because shadow arts can increase the stun chance by a large amount, up to 40% max. On TLM, this doesn't happen and thus they're stuck with a skill that has high energy cost, terrible damage, and only a decent stun rate.

Also, surgical isn't really that great of an offensive tool unless all your skill points are invested in it as it's starting base damage is fairly low and it costs a lot of energy to use given how easy it is for the opponents to work around reroute.
