edwardvulture -> Place Limitations on Cores (6/22/2013 1:59:45)

ex.
1. Only one Dot on opponent at a time
2. Only one guaranteed damage core (ex. meteor shower)

chusen -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 2:59:16)

i think they are balanced:
1. everyone can get them and have them if they want and its not just one class
2. some of the active cores reduce luck factor which everyone wants like the unblockables
3. it can only be used once so yeah...
just one problem though that alot of people wanted to get rid off and no i am not saying it should be Nerfed blah blah blah cause every person who got it paid for it
Azrael Will
^just saying since this is the only thing i see that some people posting and complaining about it :)
the other cores are cool :)

Mother1 -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:08:43)

I think cores are balanced as well. Also Edward everything in omega is a core from azreal's will to the strike key.

@ chusen

Azreal's will does have a counter which is any of the yeti's that are in the game which can disable the core for 2 turns. Problem is that most people either

1 can't afford the yeti
2 Have it but say "Why should I be forced to use this to counter that when my build should be able to counter it period?"

Also there are people complaining about the poison bot now because it destroying one of the two types of builds that is being used (if you haven't noticed those two are high HP quick kill builds and low HP tank builds)

edwardvulture -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:24:32)

Once is too much when it determines the winner

Mother1 -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:27:37)

@ Edward

Any core and any point in time can determine the winner of a match depending on the situation. So by that logic wouldn't all cores be OP?

chusen -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:29:03)

@Mother1
ok :)
gonna wait for yeti! :D

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:30:44)

@edwardvulture

Anything can at any point in time decide the match depending on the situation. So by that logic, wouldn't everything be OP?

edwardvulture -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:34:54)

by 2. I meant that, the only reason somebody won is because they have "insert core name here"

Mother1 -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:37:56)

@ edward

Everything in the game is a core here is an old design notes to prove this

quote:

When Omega launches, every single action you can issue in battle, including Strike, gun, bazooka, all of your skills, all of your item special abilities, and well, everything is now handled by a 100% new "core-based" battle engine.Sound fancy? That's partly because it is. If you haven't heard, the 9500-lines-of-code-long battle engine that is the heart of EpicDuel has been rewritten for this release.

So by your logic if I have no way to recover energy, and someone was to use an energy drain core on me or EMP causing me to lose (since my weakness is energy drains) that would make EMP and and of energy drain core OP.

DarkDevil -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:47:38)

the frostshards drain 15 over 3 turns and the gun core destroys 12 energy usually so they dont make as much problem as my 41 energy EMP not even half of it.

Mother1 -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 3:51:41)

@ darkdevil

I was making a point that any core depending on the build can make or break it.

edwardvulture -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 4:00:01)

idk overall I just find epicduel battles very mundane and coming down to "you need core to win" ever since cores got introduced and all the "balance changes"

Mother1 -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 4:03:47)

@ edward

What did you expect? Cores are the replacements for enhancements. And besides this is only at the higher levels to mid levels. Low levels don't need them.

DarkDevil -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 4:14:23)

they dont give that much of a boost you know , like an extra 5 dmg on hit or small energy drain or azreal will where you deal low to no damage and your opponent will be forced to hit you yet he deals damage and you dont , a random chance of setting a skill on CD which is heavily unreliable and you deal low to no damage.
those things only do a small boost as everyone can get them and are better than how enhances used to give 40 extra stats which is about being 10 lvls high that opponent.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 6:49:29)

Azreal Aux is poopy... that is all.

DarkDevil -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/22/2013 7:07:09)

in my opinion ppl who find cores making a big difference is because i would like to call them a one strategy build .
if you have only 1 strategy to use then if a core made a small change like forcing u to hit or draining 5 energy then this strategy will all break down , the idea of cores is to add more varity to the game so none will reach a winning strategy without being countered while if you have a huge variety of moves then you just break the bars of possibilitys so nothing will matter because no fight will go the way you want so you must be ready for anything.

edwardvulture -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/23/2013 16:47:19)

Yes I'm saying all cores are overpowered

santonik -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/26/2013 14:36:31)

In my view, For some combinations of cores are a little too hard. Is it strange if none of the attack can not be protected properly. Is not able to counter-attack when you do not actually able to do to block or deflect ..
It would be good to see something that actually would be able to prevent issues like behaviors.

edwardvulture -> RE: How to tell if a core is balanced... (6/26/2013 21:31:48)

I re-did the topic, now discuss about the first two limitations I think should be put in.
