Harvester Of Souls -> What does Epicduel really need? (7/8/2013 16:35:54)

I've seen quite a few posts on the forums lately, talking about how the gameplay and experience of this game is, well.. Not as good as it used to be. People can come up with good suggestions on how to improve the gameplay and enjoyment of this game, but some are truly very time consuming demanding for such a small team to make.

I think Epicduel needs a brand new look, something to interest people into playing it, and making it more fun aswell. More players would only do good, the team would be able to make more frequent and larger updates, and it would make those level differences and skill in duels dissapear.

What could possibly make the game more popular and enjoyable then?

Sure, the devs doesn't get alot of income from such a small amount of players, which in turn means that they can't hire more people to make larger and more time consuming updates faster.

I'd love to see more cores, weapons, just gear in general added into the game. Mostly gear which actually has something to it, maybe a nice little core or feature that makes it unique in some way or another. Adding equipment for looks isn't really helping too much, more cores, skills, and higher level caps would truly be appreciated.[;)]

However, as someone said before, goals are very important in games, those goals should preferably be hard and/or in large amounts.
I think that this game has great potential to grow, but it hasn't meet the right audience yet..
Considering how Artix Entertainment's playerbase mostly consists of younger people, those who want an easy and quick game to get into.
Epicduel isn't easy to understand for younger people, as it requires math and more tactical thinking than any other game.

Therefore, many might not like the complicated concept of the game, neither it's low amount of players[:(]
So starting out as a noob in this game might not have the same ''Attraction'' which AQW has for people.

A good way could to improve Epicduel would hire a few more artists, or ask around amongst forums looking for new recruits.[8|]

-New animations would make the gameplay feel more fluid, and maybe adding or upgrading the factions, for players to able to organise events and fight rivals.

-Perhaps adding a 3vs3/2vs3/1vs3 mode could be a good start? Or improving the social aspect of the game, adding a better chat system.

People want to have fun, and playing with friends is way more fun than playing alone. So maybe making your own teams could be a possibility? Teaming up with your partner against other teams, to see which one has the best teamwork and technique. I know that balancing this could be hard, but with more players ingame, it would balance itself out, playing it as a gamemode on it's own.

There are so many ways on how to improve this game, but with Epicduel's staff not being very large compared to others, those ideas can't be implemented yet, atleast not very fast.

I think to start of with giving the game a more fluid gameplay, with brand new animations and perhaps a new, and interesting and more social game modes, could really interest alot more players into joining the game. Players can't come from nowhere, but making an and exciting commercial to show itself off, would be really cool, and with the skill I've seen from these artists, it could potentially be a really big hit.

I'll only agree on cores. Nothing else. There is too much updated gear in the game that we just simply cannot afford every piece of gear we want.
Secondly I have been begging for level caps. I don't think they'll be doing it any time soon so I has quit.

We got that.... I don't think we need none atm. We got TrizZy, Reki & a few others along with =ED= Item/Weapon Suggestions

We most likely need more developers for more features. The features are quite the same from 3-4 years (game mode point of view).

Wrong; there is alot; I'm telling you; alot of younger players. If someone says that they are an older player; it is most likely a younger players; since I have experience a load of that in past factions (they say they are 23 when they are 11 but they are pro players).

They already done that. Check the botanical borg for example or the Golden yeti Tournament.

Now this is what I support! More game modes. I true-ly believe that with more game modes; atleast a staggering of 6 different modes; this game will be back on track to being epic duel instead of 'boring duel''.

On my high levels, the game SUCKS. but levels 12-28 are fun!

What I do is create a new acc, play on it till it gets to the boring levels. (28-35)
Currently playing on..

Hey Hulk, this is just my own experience and ideas mixed together, but yea, gamemodes would help alot.

However, what I meant with more animations was how all of the gameplay could use some, not just walking towards your target like a stiff robot and then continue with your standard routine of jumping and hacking with a blade, making a red cross on the enemy player.

Perhaps giving you a greater variation of animations, maybe changing from class to class, and (not really) but making your attacks look more powerfull, the more powerfull they really are. For example, your attack does 3 damage, it's a block, but instead of it only showing on the enemy player, it display as if you halted, and are pushed back when getting blocked.

Ideas ideas, I'd love to work at Epicduel, designing games and coming up with more ideas. However, it's far easier writing things on a forum, atleast for now[8|]

This game cannot handle it. There would be more battle failed start due to more animation errors & a animation overload where the animation is limited. Once that animation hits to 1000/900 then you're surely going to lag out of the game.

DunkThatOreo -> RE: What does Epicduel really need? (7/9/2013 17:18:08)

Epic Duel needs a mature community like it had in alpha/beta. Epic Duel needs developers that don't lie or break their promise's to their players. Epic Duel needs more game modes, features, skills, stats, health points, and creativity.

This game is going nowhere because there are only two developers and a handful of testers.

Money is what Epic Duel needs most.

I don't think that's going anywhere. They've been lying from the start.

What do you expect man. This game is aged between 13+ like you said on the other thread which you agreed on with the other guy. How can kids that are 13+ be mature? by the time they hit 18+; they will quit ED most likely or either be much maturer then before in the game.

Mondez -> RE: What does Epicduel really need? (7/9/2013 17:57:15)

Saying that the staff is lying is a bit pushing it, Hulk.

This game needs some serious balance changers because I doubt the passive to active will change in build because players always find ways to find the next OP build and copy it. I know there have been arguments against this, but lets face it, there should be an option to hide builds because it would seriously slow down build copying.

ED really needs to change the variety in the BM, CH, and TM with skills since balance right now is affected by it.

So to sum it all up, ED really needs balance in everything because literally everything is way too out of proportion compared to past phases.

Well the basic classes always have had their own unique skills. You have seen all the OP builds throughout the phases, so having different skills probably won't do anything.
