Harvester Of Souls -> ED Artist Achievement (7/16/2013 18:08:06)

In a recent post I read, Charfade mentioned that making equipment and animations takes alot of time, considering there's just 2 staff members working with it, and only a handfull of guest/fan artists who takes their own time making equipment and weapons for free.[:D]

Wouldn't it be a great idea to reward these players who takes their spare time into making creative gear for staff members to add into the game?

Perhaps an Achievement, which updates for every succesfull piece of gear which they have contributed with?[&:]

This could motivate new artists with skills to greatly help and support Epicduel. These artists would need to have a good knowledge of painting and such, but Im guessing that a staff member could fairly easily adjust the missing parts of the chosen equipment and then add it into the game.

If an Achievement isn't good enough motivation to take or hours days to draw equipment for free, other options could also be used, perhaps a small amount of credits or varium could be added?

Allthough im in support for new equipment, I am not really seeing gear without cores as usefull, neither prioritized. However, with so many great core suggestions in Xendran's thread, these could easily fit on weapons or Armors etc, made by new and old fan/guest artists[8D]

Maybe the developers could start of with suggesting a theme to these sets of equipment, and then maybe all of a sudden you'd be seeing 10 additional weapons added ontop of the Halloween release?

What do you think? Would you like to see new gear with interesting cores arriving soon? I'd like to prioritize this idea, but that's just my own opinion. (I am aware of the balance hassle though)

Exploding Penguin -> RE: ED Artist Achievement (7/16/2013 18:12:06)

isn't the achievement already called epic artist?

I wasn't aware of that, however this one would be an evolving one, similar to the current war objective cheevo's[;)]

You mean this?
As for updating ones, supported.

Trizzy earns some Ratings for his amazing art! :P

Exploding Penguin -> RE: ED Artist Achievement (7/16/2013 18:26:30)

Supported for updating ones, because it's good and honestly I don't see anything bad. When suggestion shops come out typically a few select players have multiple pieces of their work selected, so I believe they should be rewarded (in terms of rating and cheevos) more than those players who only get one piece of art selected.

Scyze -> RE: ED Artist Achievement (7/16/2013 19:46:23)

You can be one of those volunteer artists but then there are problems with that. I do like this idea though as there are many artists that play EpicDuel who have hours of boredom which could be turned into making art for the game.

If you make a lot of items that are going to go in-game, they will need to be tested out. ED does have a few testers but not a lot so it will take a long time for them to test things out. In the end, the things can be done.

But there already is an Achievement worth 1,000 Rating Points that is rewarded manually to people. I actually don't think that 1,000 is enough, 2,000 or so is enough. Some people have quite a few designs in-game and they just get an Achievement worth 1,000 points. :3

I like! But people just do it in their spare time.

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: ED Artist Achievement (7/17/2013 0:05:03)

i do support this, i haven't seen the item/weapon suggestion filled with alot of item concepts in a loooong time, hence the reason why we don't often have suggestion shops coming up(another reason is that the devs are busy with future events).

so this should encourage other talented artists out there to have a try at getting more of their items ingame instead of just suggesting only once just to get the cheevo.
