SouL Prisoner -> Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 3:18:55)

I think it's quite appropriate time to unlock more cores. Players now have a good hang of how cores work!

These are the following cores that i propose to be unlocked:

- Curse

- Lucky Strike

- Curse Aura

- Frost Aura

Though I'll be more than happy if they unlock all the cores! [:D]

Mysterion. -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 3:45:15)

How about Char's revenge?

Supported.

Scyze -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 4:01:17)

It is a good time to unlock these Cores but then you'll end up making some Cores rare because people will just change their locked Core(s). This might even make people not buy new items because they know that their best Weapon/Armor is more open.

All of the Cores that no longer have a purpose should be on top of the list. *I'm talking about the ones from events like wars.*

Mother1 -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 10:13:01)

Those cores won't be unlocked since all those cores are promo item cores and I remember the staff saying certain items core will stay locked so those items would keep their identities.

Curse and curse aura are from ultra rare legacy items that are promos

Lucky strike is from the Celtic items in which one is a promo

and Curse aura is from the seasonal rare frost and beast rider armors.

However as the first two people said cores that have no purpose in the game should be unlocked.

So I support the unlocking of cores that are worthless in the game, but I don't support the cores you suggested to be unlocked since those are from promo's ultra rare items, or other items that have identities.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 11:51:20)

If they are unlocked, which is unlikely, the cores should just go in your inventory to later equip. And to prevent any promo hybrid combos like thorn assault+massive strike, the unlocked cores can only be re-equipped to their original weapon.

Predator9657 -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 11:56:16)

^ lol, imagine Azrael's Will + Spreadfire in a 2v2/jug XD

Trae -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 13:57:00)

^i could own jug :)

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 15:48:44)

Yes, it's definitely time to unlock cores, but all the ones you suggested are the ones that shouldn't be unlocked. All the ones you named are ones that are extremely unique to their weapons (with the exception of 2% lucky strike on certain seasonal rares), and should never be able to be exchanged/switched out for others. When I was thinking of unlocking cores, I was thinking of:

-Icy Chill
-Char's Revenge

And other similar cores that serve entirely no purpose in normal PvP.

Predator9657 -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/19/2013 16:01:33)

^ Yeah, the give you a disadvantage is your loosing out the potential of having a useful core in its place.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 0:47:25)

LOL. They say i could use any weapon i like in Omega. Now, is that reallly true???

I don't think soooo :/

Mother1 -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 1:05:46)

@ soul prisnor

They also said that certain weapon cores would remain locked so those weapons would keep their identities as well. It was well mentioned in the old design notes.

Scyze -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 1:17:18)

Yes they were and there's no point in changing that.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 2:56:06)

^ What do you mean no point in changing??

I want to use Delta armor from so long, but i cannot. Reason is obvious, the core. I don't need it's core = clearly i cannot use that armor. Then what's the point of all these changes made in Omega?? use "any weapon" sayings ...

It's all going like the old times. Many players liked founders armor, but couldn't use it.

The best solution for this is core inventory(Which we have) but that's not enough. It needs this feature. Cores that dev's don't to be removed from weapons, can be shifted to the players inventory and he/she can use it only on the weapon it originally belonged. This way the core will not be lost, players can use any item they like(for real) and neither other weapons can use that core.

Mother1 -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 4:30:48)

Your logic is flawed with that. You don't need the core =/= you can't you use the item. you can't use the core actually = you CHOOSE not to use the armor there is a big difference.

You choose not to use the items that you have because of the cores they hold. It isn't you can't use the the items. There is nothing stopping you from putting on the armor/item and using it other then you yourself.

Before omega using these items depending on your level would give you a stat disadvantage because other items would have more stats than those items however now that isn't the cause now.

Plus as I said several times the staff already said that certain items won't have their cores unlock so they could keep their identities. It was said from the start and it isn't like they didn't spring this on us so it is fair.

Scyze -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 5:07:20)

You =/= everyone. Isn't it obvious yet? Even though I don't really like the Curse Aura, I can still use it. You can still use the Armor!

You don't need to use the Delta Knight when you know that there are other Armors you can use. Everything's the same and if you don't want to use the others, then it's your fault.[&:]

It's my choice, i like the armor but i cannot use it because of the core.

Did you even read this???

What's the final result??? I'm not using that armor even though i want to use that armor. I prefer perfect build over looks. But what Omega was suppose to be is perfect build+perfect looks(looks that appeals you) but i guess that's not really happening....

Option does not mean always making everything work out. Satisfaction is what that does the job, not adjustment. I can choose any armor, but whats the use if i don't like those armors?? It's as good as having an option to be killed by a gun shot or to be hanged, while i'm looking for an option to survive. There might be a difference in dying by those 2 methods, but what's the final result?? You die! But was i satisfied?? Did i get what i wanted?? Nope....

Did you not read what I said? They don't wanted certain promo items cores shifted either. Why do you think the cores are locked on these and they said they wouldn't unlock certain cores? So the cores on certain items won't be shifted and in turn they keep their identities.

The delta knight and delta weapons (using these for an example) are known for their core of cursing their targets and that is how they want these items to remain so they leave the cores on these locked. Giving them the ability to be shifted will mean that these items would lose their identities for the soul purpose that they would be have another core on them making them do something else instead of what they were made for.

The same can be said of any other rare promo in the game that is no longer available in game.

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 9:39:09)

Ya, i get your point. But you don't seem to get my point. I know what is what and why it is. I'm just suggesting to change that and i have given good enough reasons and solutions for that.

And it's quite ironical that all good stuff have hopeless cores stuck to them, making them completely useless(at least to me. Idk about others) I prefer "Freedom of choice" and nothing can over rule that, NOTHING! Not even a core that could do a 1 hit K.O :)

Ty, i'm done.

I'm sure you will reconsider if that ever came out XD

Lycus -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 12:19:20)

Just a point on this - as far as I am aware, the current plan is not to unlock any cores for now, only for one reason. That reason has been noted in the DNs, and that is that we do aim to allow Cores to act like inventory items that you can buy, equip and unequip and so on. I am not completely sure how progress is going on that, nor whether it is 100% set in stone, but it is certainly an aim the team have. So hopefully if all goes well, that should come as soon as possible, which means unlocking cores now would only mean some people lose those rare cores when waiting just a few more weeks or possibly months could mean they save the rare cores and do not lose out!

As said, not promising anything, but this is likely the reason cores will not be unlocked for now, unless that plan looks like it may not be possible or will take much longer than planned.

Ranloth -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/20/2013 13:31:39)

In other words, Core Inventory will be made. Just like players wanted but perhaps with restrictions for certain items, or maybe not even that.

Predator9657 -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/21/2013 20:57:55)

perhaps we shall see Azrael's will spreadfire xD

Ranloth -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/21/2013 21:04:53)

What I meant was buying (example) Meteor Shower for Sword X and then taking it out and putting it on Sword Y, so you'd have to buy each core only once and it's yours forever - unlike restricting it to one item such as buying Meteor Shower for Sword X and not being able to put it on Sword Y (so you'd be able to have cores restricted to weapons and switchable for free).

And no, Spreadfire nor Azrael's Will won't get unlocked. Many cores will remain locked or else items would lose their uniqueness. Examples include promos.

CN2025 -> RE: Time to unlock more cores (7/22/2013 4:44:03)

i need icy chill unlocked and fast :/
