^First turn is always vital and having a slightly higher dex increases your chance to block a strong bludgeon. For me as a BM, whenever I go first, I hit them with either bludgeon or gun first in case they'll use intimidate. If they do use intimidate, you can use bazooka, robot and then field medic(this skips three turns, evading the intimidate debuff) or using intimidate first(renders the strength BM's main moves weaker for 3 turns) and then bazooka and robot. Take note that it isn't a sure win as one single block/deflection can change the outcome of the match. Getting critted is also dangerous and lowers your chance to win against them(though I won but at very low helath left) It normally takes 4 turns for strength BM's to rage but a single block or deflection lowers it to 3 turns for rage. 2 blocks is an immediate rage on the next turn if you keep hitting them hard. There are risks when you need to heal or keep hitting them to prevent having the health advanatage. The best time to heal is when you anticipate rage next turn or when on less than 1/4th of your health. Sometimes, I decide to keep hitting and eventually win to get the rage faster especially if they decide to heal. ^above mentioned is versus a strength BM as a focus BM. As for versus CH, it's actually easy if you ask me. If you go first, use your robot(highly recommended is an unblockable attack) to prevent your robot from getting weakened from an incoming malfunction. Afterwards, since they'll use malf anyway, set up resistance shield and use gun, bazooka and robot as your main attacks. If they ever do heal and you have rage, always use meteor strike as your rage to prevent deflections or if you have the Botanical Borg, use its special as an unavoidable hit. If you have rage on another turn, use meteor strike again for another unavoidable hit giving you enough hp to take the advantage. Remember that deflections are your worst enemy as this makes your main attacks ineffective so having high tech not only makes your chance of getting deflected lower, it can power up your bot for a stronger hit.
